Im not sure how the river works. But iv had alot of luck just dropping logs in the river they end up at the mill. Not sure if it is as long as you drop it somewhere in one of the log paths or if it just needs to be deep enough. Like I've been dumping them off the red bridge beside the house, and right beside the infeed of the mill seems to work

Both pronunciations are correct. The British tend to accentuate the "H" while Americans leave it silent. Unsure about Canadians, but either way they're safe.
