Also what is the difference between slings and suspensions? It's understandable that the flexor hallucis longus would keep summit of medial longitudinal arch pulled up considering its insertion on distal phalanx of toe. The Tibialis posterior also makes sense since despite its widespread attachment, insertion is centres on navicular which is part of medial arch. Flexor digitorum longus is confusing.. Since it supposedly only supports medial arch inspite of insertion on all 4 lateral toes. This is contradictory, since in functions of FDL it is written that it supports both medial and lateral arches The Peroneus brevis is for longitudinal arch makes sense, the Peroneus longus does not considering its attachment on first metatarsal. I guess the Tibialis anterior and Peroneus longus keep both arches pulled up but is this considered a sling or a suspension? The role of Peroneus longus and Tibialis posterior in maintaining transverse arches is literally the only one that makes sense.

Sir please excuse this question. It is written in bd that in terms of the posterior transverse arch, the bony factor is very important for the stability of the arches. Because many of the Tarsus and bases of metatarsal are wedge-shaped, with Apex pointing downwards? How would that contribute to stability?
