Suleiman doesn't want to accept that Hurrem will die and tries to find a cure for her. Meanwhile, Lala Mustafa Pasha takes Selim's side and sets a trap for Bayezid. Bayezid loses his temper because of the letter he received from Lala Mustafa and wages battle against Selim. Signor Pedro offers Mihrimah to run away together. Rustem loses his all faith for Mihrimah and gets close with Signora Mendes. Suleiman and Hurrem wrestle with their consciences in Bursa where they have gone for finding a cure. While Suleiman taking the hardest test of his life in Mustafa's tomb, Hurrem asks for Mihrimah's blessing. Hurrem accepts the death and asks for a wish from Suleiman. This wish sets Suleiman's heart on fire.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

From the start, Bayezid shows his strength as a warrior and Selim is always defeated even in his training
Who else got a laugh when Mahideveran said Sulieman killed his son for the sultanate when all she did from the time Mustafa was a child was try to get him on the throne forgetting that she sent poison to kill him Hurrem and unborn Mehmet and the numerous times she attempted to kill Hurrem and eventually killed Mehmet, praying for Sulieman’s death on a number of occasions saying to Ibrahim it was not in their interest for Suleiman to recover also threatening all Hurrems kids. Does she really not remember why SHE did that??? THE THRONE !!!
She did that for the throne and also for vengeance in my opinion. She always wanted revenge on Hurrëm because she lost her place as favourite of the Sultan. I remember that she blamed Suleiman for his greed for power and arrogance to Atmaca when he visited her at the cimetery... Well she was arrogant too and wanted power as Valide Sultana with her son as the Sultan. Hurrëm is clearly not an angel but I prefer her for her loyalty and her intelligence. Mahidevran is the character I hate the most in this serie.

@@tajkiachoudhury6932lol, try to read up on the ottomans; Suleyman was the last brother standing, that’s why he became the Sultan. His father did that for him. He did the same for Selim so he didn’t have to kill his brother(s) and all their offspring. It’s cruel but something like the Wars of the Roses is way crueler and makes much, much more victims.

This series has been absolutely addicting. The cast, the acting, the plot, everything but the poor English language subtitles. The subtitles of the first 90 episodes was quite good, but after that it got worse and worse. I was able to make sense of the dialogue mostly but all the flaws were distracting and forced me to spend less time with the plot and the acting. The actor playing the sultan was extremely impressive, and the quality of his voice, especially when quoting poetry, was fantastic. I should think that audio recordings of his poetry reading would be best sellers . Hoping for a recording of Rumi done by him! The older Surrem is a fine actor and is so beautiful, as were almost all the female actors, to say nothing of the handsome and very talented male actors, especially Bali Bey and Cihangar. This is the first Turkish production I have ever seen, and I guess the very best of actors were chosen for the production. If the subtitles were cleaned up and done well, Netflix might well negotiate for such a “hot item”.
The " new" hurrem did amazing. I would have liked to see how they would have made the original hurrem look old.

Love only one month before she die. After mustafa death love stoped between Sulejman and Hurem long time. Him sorry for her only snd after him suffering for himself loneliness Sulejman loved until death only thru love Ibrahim.

Hurrem asking Mahidevran for forgiveness, as she is near her death, shows that she really is a good person. It takes a tough heart to do that. We are all human and we tend to make mistakes. After all, life is a game of survival - we do things for us to survive. However, admitting and accepting that we had make mistakes, moreover, repenting (if not trying to correct our sins), is a big stepping stone in finding the right path.
Anyways, how cruelty is that that while Hurrem is dying on a disease, her two children is fighting each other to death? They are both childlike. Cant think of consequences of their actions properly, not even make good decisions and rely so much on people arpund them. Unfortunately, these people seem reckless, conniving, selfish and power hungry, too. What a pity.
It is much harder to forgive,than to ask for forgivness,on the "deathbed".

My heart broke for sumbul aga.....he did the right thing.....if anything at all could have been done....it would have been suleimam who could pull it off..he had the wealth and means..........now she has no one to be her buddy....confidant.....girlfriend as it were....shes alone now when she needs someone close to her.....when she is surrounded by hate and treachery......too late for suleiman to start caring about hurrems life/health

Gulfem was involved in more than her share of plots against Hurrem even though Hurrem always tried to be friends with her. Gulfem should have apologized to Hurrem for her behavior towards her over the years when she always sided with the evil sisters.
But only through curses, insults & exchanges, never by means of offensive action.
@@supeskrim- While Gulfem may not have actually planned any actions on her own, she was actively involved in the plots and attempts made by the other evil "ladies" making no attempts to warn Hurrem of the offensive possibly lethal actions taken against her. The does not make her much better than the other "ladies".

😮 Rustem loves Mirihima and was always loyal to her and her family no matter what. Yes he is a bit older than Mirihima but when she agreed to get married to him she already knew the age difference and yes the marriage was a bit forced on her by her mother….but that does not allow her to be disloyal to her husband and meet other guys in secret. She could divorce from him and find a new person….but Rustem in my opinion is not a bad match. A loving husband who cares for you and willing to give up his life and everything for you is NOT EASY TO FIND!!

Even Fidan has a selective memory. She was Hurrems concubine who betrayed her cut out Lazerras tongue to blame Hurrem and then they tried killing her by burning. Both Mahideveran and Fidan arrogant to the end enjoying their pity party together.

To Hurrem's thinking, Sumbul betrayed her by revealing what she had told him to keep secret. She later came to realize he much he meant to her and wanted him back. Sumbul may not have always been on Hurrem's side but once he did decide to back her he became her most ardent supporter and friend.

When Hurrem was gone for so long, (what Hatice did) it showed a scene of her sleeping on the floor, and the floor looked messy and dirty. Could maybe a rat bit her while she slept, and given her a disease ? Could it have been the beginning of lepersy ? The few pictures we got to see of the shoulder, it appeared to be a massive sore of some sort...but never got well, or went away. Anyone know ?
