I think their concert live stages are fine. A couple of suggestions would be:
    1. Evil (SWC 3 - Seoul version)
    2. Ring Ding Dong + Lucifer remix (SWC 5)
    3. Hitchiking (SWC 3)
    3. Sherlock (SWC 4)
    4. Stranger (SWC 4)
    5. Picasso (SWC 4)
    6. Juliette (SWC5)
    7. Dream Girl (SWC5)
    8. Why So Serious (SWC5)
    9. DxDxD (Tokyo Dome 2016)

I believe Taemin asked Koharu (Move, Criminal, etc) to do the choreo for Good Evening. This was their first song back after losing Jonghyun and she created it with the idea of having them face each other or look off stage rather then having to look at the audience.

You should definitely watch more live performances. Shinee live performances are on a whole different level than their dance practices. I always recommend "excuse me miss". Maybe not their most impressive dance performance, but it's epic. If you watch it, you will immediately get the shinee vibe.

All their dancing and they “sing live”, not missing a beat or step. Watch live performances and you will become a true follower. You can watch live from Shinee World lll, IV or V Concerts as long as you put one song name in at a time. As a dancer “everybody”, “Dream Girl”, “Sherlock” “VIEW” “Lucifer”, etc. Really, you have so much to choose from and vocally solo or group they are special.

Whatever tier.. the way junior AND senior groups, and critics have high regard for SHINee’s dances and live performance is enough telling.. and since their early days till now, that hasn’t changed. To think they’ve been in the industry for 13 years with lots of groups coming and going.

Their live performances are phenomenal! No one does it like SHINee. Whether it's their vocals or their dance, they are doing everything to a T. I particularly love their Tokyo Dome concerts. And any props they use, be it blindfolds, mic stands, chairs, their own clothes, etc., are used effectively.

What I love about SHINee is how sincere they are as artists/performers. They incorporate every aspect to their performance to deliver the message, vibe of the song - from their dancing, vocal style, visuals and so on. It’s like they put their everything to every performance. Hype song.. they hype, ballad.. you get it; hard hitting performance song.. theyd deliver that, sensual.. got it. Add to that the LIVE SINGING. 👌👌👌

Like... Not seeing SHINee as S-tier would be as insulting as saying The Beatles weren't important to the history of music. aushaushuah
SHINee established the parameters for a group that could dance and sing on stage without the barrier of "this is too difficult to dance and sing at the same time". They also came to show what synchronization really meant in a very different way from TVXQ. SHINee is no joke.
Edit: Also, I'd like to comment that Good Evening still makes me cry. It was such a cathartic song not only for them but for the fandom and, like... It's an absolutely beautiful homage.

For me I think that what make a dancer an artist (because for me they are artists) is the emotion that they can give with their moves. A lot of groups try to make hard choreo, but for me if they can give me emotion that what matters. Shinee are one of the group that make me feel this way, they always express everything with their singing and dancing.

SHINee is the original group known not just for dance, but the way they pull off hard-hitting or expressive choreo and maintain the integrity of their amazing live vocals that they've been good at all along. Other groups can dance hard, but shinee is specifically good at dancing hard while consistently hitting the vocals at the same time. Definitely suggest watching some of their live performances to see them in action!

It's completely understandable you haven't been able to see the full of SHINee's majesty. There are a ton of great groups and just a lot of content in general I tend to forget that some newer fans don't know 2nd generation as well I do, since all my favorite groups are there. While Sherlock is a famous dance practice it actually isn't the one that started the dance practice trend that was actually Lucifer! Also some context for SHINee's dancing their dance for Lucifer is one of the reasons that the general public see kpop dancers as actual dancers. Before Lucifer kpop groups were not seen as legitimate dancers really but rather just groups who would dance, Lucifer changed all that!
Also I'm the one who writes novels about the Good Evening dance so I'm just gonna copy my blurb about it that I have posted elsewhere:
I'm sure you've gotten a lot of Shawols talking about this song and choreo, we as fans are known for writing essays about SHINee it's just how we do. But I also wanted to throw in my own thoughts and what I know about how this song was choreographed because it's one of my all time favorite choreos. So as I'm sure you know Koharu Sugawara was the woman behind this dance and Taemin actually asked her to come work with SHINee, as she choreo'd Move and other solos for him. There is actually an interview with Koharu about how she went about creating this choreo and what it was like working with the whole group, which I highly recommend finding the translation of, it's super informative (she specifically said that she told Onew that he should dance contemporary more because he's so relaxed lol)
One of the things she mentioned focusing on is having SHINee dance for each other because she felt like they had been performing for everyone else for so long that this song should be them performing for each other. That's why they don't really fully face the front of the stage, don't make eye contact with any cameras and often are dancing in a closed circle (with a member usually having their back to audience, super rare in kpop) - this aspect is definitely more clear in live stages. I, personally, view this choreo as depicting them going through the grieving process and figuring out how to be on stage and embrace SHINee again. They don't face the audience and don't make eye contact for most of the song. At the beginning and for most of the song they have more contemporary moves of 'running' and almost feeling like there are being carried with no direction and most importantly they aren't interacting with each other. Each member is adrift. Then you get the relative middle of the song and the members start, in pairs, leaning on each other and holding each other up which flows into the rap section where all the members connect together to help each move and ultimately stand up(!!!). After they lean on each other to stand and move forward the song finishes with them still dancing to each other in a half circle but Shawols are now the other half of the circle. Finally the last burst of choreo is more 'classic' kpop choreo with all of them finally facing the audience showing that they are still SHINee.
Gosh sorry I wrote like a novel! I just have many feelings about this choreo and how amazingly Koharu saw SHINee. I just really appreciate her work and want others to fully appreciate Koharu's choreo and how SHINee brought it to life!

No worries at all about the essay!
I honestly really respect the fact that you have so much to say about them and I am more than willing to learn about them especially as Taemin is one of my ultimate biases in K-pop ( I have a poster of him that I requested when I did my Korea Box sponsored post 2 years ago haha )
I totally agree with you about us newer fans who have come in from the 3rd/4th gen groups. I think it's important for me to take into consideration the generation that they are dancing from and and the impact that they have on the industry as well as their skill levels as it's as you said they set the standard and paved the way for future groups with a lot of talent to know how high the bar is set and to add on top of that 😁 I think what also makes it hard is being a reactor for multiple groups as there may be gaps between me watching certain groups videos 😅
Anyways I'm greatful for your comment and looking forward to eventually checking out the Shinee live stages in the future !!

@@ChrisStillBeTalkin I love to share my shinee love with others and since most of my favorite groups are 2nd generation I'm always down to give people info on that generation. It's like a running joke for shawols that we write basically essays about our boys 😅 I don't even follow that many groups and I still sometimes get overwhelmed so I can't imagine how reactors must feel like 🤣 I actually love that you make it a point to try to react to older groups (like I'm watching Wild Beat with you bc 2PM are one my favorites as well, so you've hit 2 out of 3 of my all time top groups) Honestly just like how you are genuine and respectful to all the groups you watch! Hopefully you'll be able to check out some live stages in the future- live 2nd gen (and especially SHINee) I just feel really hit different.
Oh and if Taemin is your ult you're gonna end up falling for SHINee just because of how much Taemin loves them, he's calls SHINee his home and the older members really dote on him. SHINee are known as the Princes Of K-pop, they are very respected and a lot of 3rd and 4th generation idol groups have expressed SHINee Is the reason they wanted to become idols. , in my opinion can't be in a certain category, because they are in whole other level that nobody comes near to them, specially In live performances, If you really want to know what they are capable of, their concerts and any other live performances are a must see SHINNee comand the stage like no other, even their seniors have great admiration for them. SHINNee is a band that doesn't follow any trends, they create the trend . SHINNee members are the idol of idols, still going strong after 13 years in their career. their recent comeback was absolutely mind blowing . Taemin is the best soloist in the industry, he is considered the Korean Michael Jackson. each member is amazing, multy talented artists . I definitely believe that they do not need the title of best dancers. Simply because they are one of the best ARTISTS, singers, performers, complete in the entire entertainment industry and not just kpop. That is why judging only the dance is incomplete for me. There may be more coordinated and precise groups in the execution of choreographies. But SHINee goes way beyond that, what they transmit cannot be measured or listed. So don't be upset over a one-sided opinion about them. They are ART.

SHINee's "Sherlock" is a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's album "Clue" and "Note." That's why the title of this song is "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" If you were to listen to the album you would see that they are two separate songs, but when combined they become "Sherlock." So, what you heard was a mashup of the two songs. (Just like with SuperM's new song "One (Monster & Infinity)")
This whole song is about being Sherlock-like detectives so that is why you see them drawing the line on the floor like they are investigating clues, why you see the hand movement that looks like they are take photos with a camera, and why you see them doing that Sherlock Holmes-style exaggerated march in the dance, etc.
The choreography for "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" was created by Tony Testa a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Michael Jackson. "Sherlock" was the first time SM (or pretty much anyone in the Kpop industry) had ever used a famous choreographer, and at the time, it was the most expensive Kpop production ever. Once again, SHINee were trendsetters and because of SHINee's skill level, SM became the first to see the value in using a well-known choreographer to help create their dances and to strive for a level of choreography and video production that surpassed anything that had ever been done before. (Now, SHINee -- and numerous SM groups -- have worked with Tony Testa multiple times over the years.) Today it's common place for Kpop companies to have really famous in-house choreographers, and to seek out people in the industry who are really making a name for themselves to choreograph for them, but SHINee was one of the first.
And yes, at one point Taemin had to dance while holding onto the wall because the room is too small for this dance and he literally ran out of room. It is said that Taemin is the one that always covers the most space in SHINee dances and he intentionally askes the choreographers to create moves for him that have him moving from one side of the room to the other and back again.
This dance practice is from 2012, so as you can see, it was old enough that it was before SM had their new fancy giant golden door dance practice room that all their dance practices are now filmed in. Before that room was built, you always knew when it was an SM artist because of that iconic cloud wallpaper. The cloud background in all of their most iconic dance practice videos is classic SM.

Thank you so much for watching the Good Evening dance practice. Good Evening was choreographed by Koharu Sugawara. (She also choreographed Move for Taemin). Other people have explained this much better elsewhere, but the choreo represents SHINee going through the stages of grief after losing Jonghyun. If you have time definitely check out a live on your own as you’ll pick up on subtle details you can’t see from far away. For example, the members purposefully do not make eye contact with the camera for the entire performance.

Sugawara Koharu (Move, Want) was the chireographer for Good Evening. She based it on Onew after meeting him for the first time. He was so relaxed, and she said that everyone expect fast and hard and complicated from SHINee, so why not make people wait for it? Good Evening was their comeback video for The Story of Light, which happened after Jonghyun's death. TSOL is a love letter to our Jonghyun.

Heya heya thanks for the comment I appreciate it.
Also when I said about the background dancers being added, I meant it as if the background dancers are dancing more then the idols are dancing then I can't actually give a higher grade on the group when their are idol groups that will do the dance practice without background dancers. That's all.
Sometimes it's about removing emotions when trying to be critical and comparing groups as much as I may have a bias. It's my job to make sure I'm as honest and unbiased as possible when doing rankings. That being said Shinee have a lot of versatility and have shown so much range and dance skills over the years that after making this video I can say that they are also S.

If you're familiar with other 2nd gen groups, you can really see how the quality of bg dancers has vastly improved, and tbh SHINee had a lot to do with that. The difference in their earlier videos is something to behold. 👀
You should check out the dance practice for Replay - the choreo was a bomb drop and chamged EVERYTHING.
As always, thank you for your reaction!

Being a fans for Korean songs since 2002 and being Shawols since their debut, I understand that the recent generation idols strength are more to powerful, and crazy difficult/complex dance routine..
But for me personally, 2nd generation idols have a special place in my heart especially SHINee of course~ and nowadays more 2nd generation idols make their comeback and we can see the obvious different; their routine are not as crazy difficult level/complex but their aura and subtle movement still gave a very impactful performance, plus their vibes are superb~~
Anyway thank you for your reaction~ looking for more of SHINee's dance practice/live performances reactions in future~

From what I've seen... most performances from award shows and tv channels are blocked. But on SHINee's channel there is one "Don't Call Me Performance Stage" th-cam.com/video/N3103Su_-cM/w-d-xo.html and one "Good Evening" th-cam.com/video/iF7iM1tbA0I/w-d-xo.html. Plus this solo compilation where I recommend you check Taemin's and Key's dance performances th-cam.com/video/zpxQFBSxPX8/w-d-xo.html. Alas no fixed camera in any of them but I've seen a lot of people reacting to this without problems. There is also Don't Call Me relay dance which is just fun and I've seen several reactions of it without problems th-cam.com/video/3SdinYFN6sM/w-d-xo.html.
I also saw a lot of reactors having no problems with SHINee's live performances from their concerts DVDs so here is a list of links for the songs on the most voted comment:
    1. Evil (SWC 3 - Seoul version) - th-cam.com/video/MEMLMGj2F4A/w-d-xo.html
    2. Ring Ding Dong + Lucifer remix (SWC 5) - th-cam.com/video/WlnfJbEwsyw/w-d-xo.html
But I think the 2016 stage in Tokyo is closer to the original choreography if you want to see it th-cam.com/video/sRjHkFtRrJc/w-d-xo.html
    3. Hitchiking (SWC 3) - th-cam.com/video/YRcy-QVKPzY/w-d-xo.html this one is funny because Onew looses his shoes mid performance
    3. Sherlock (SWC 4) - th-cam.com/video/a8o7kWZVB8Y/w-d-xo.html
    4. Stranger (SWC 4) - th-cam.com/video/1urjKA0KiTI/w-d-xo.html
    5. Picasso (SWC 4) - th-cam.com/video/rmDouww6W1o/w-d-xo.html
    6. Juliette (SWC5) - th-cam.com/video/81qtwuWjYog/w-d-xo.html
    7. Dream Girl (SWC5) - th-cam.com/video/8rCHLC5-vz8/w-d-xo.html
    8. Why So Serious (SWC5) - th-cam.com/video/Io5MXNwioT4/w-d-xo.html
    9. DxDxD (Tokyo Dome 2016) - th-cam.com/video/M8oKkdJ6cbk/w-d-xo.html
    My adds:
    10. Excuse me miss (SWC 4) - th-cam.com/video/zN_5ewAE8V8/w-d-xo.html my favorite!
    11. Your Number (Black version) - th-cam.com/video/1HZ3Q4onYxs/w-d-xo.html you already reacted to the mv so the links is to their SW4 stage in Seoul
    12. Everybody (2014 "I'm Your Boy" Tour in Tokyo) - th-cam.com/video/U6VRY42T-5E/w-d-xo.html since you already reacted to the dance practice.
    13. Kimi No Sei De (Tokyo Dome 2016) - th-cam.com/video/-xYpmW0NkX8/w-d-xo.html I just love Rino Nakasone's work plus the floor bit is really cool
Well I hope that this comment helps you a little bit and sorry for it being soooo long! Can't wait for more of your SHINee content! You are one of the few that actually reacts to 2nd gen and BOA... so thank you!

Choreography for Good Evening is by Koharu Sugarawa, she is the choreographer of Move, Want, Sayonara Hitori, Flame of Love & in part of Criminal which I believe was a group effort by her, Rino Nakasone (she is the choreographer of Lucifer, Replay, Love like Oxygen, Juliette, Hello, Your number, Kimi no Sei De & Get the treasure) and Taemin.
Edit: I just fact checked, Criminal was a group effort by Koharu (who made basically the whole choreo), and Kasper (part of Idea, Advice, part of Don’t Call Me) and Taemin who both edited it.

SHINee's "Married to the Music" is from 2015 and it's supposed to be fun and upbeat, because they are "Married to the Music" The regular MV has a very "Rocky Horror Picture Show" vibe, and it's just about as iconic of a cult classic as that movie as well.
Their outfits and hair are supposed to look like they are dressed for a retro Halloween party. You should check out some of their live comeback stages for "Married to the Music." If you do, you might notice their bow ties look like bats and their hats have witches fingers, etc. It's supposed to have that fun, campy horror/comedy look and feel.
"Married to the Music" is considered a Halloween must watch within the fandom and most of us make this MV part of our Halloween tradition every year. However, this song and MV came out in August, nowhere near Halloween. Halloween isn't really a big deal in Korea and it has only been in the last few years that Koreans have started to celebrate Halloween by holding costume parties. Halloween in Korea is pretty much a western culture transplant. But, the middle of summer is horror season in Korea. Koreans say they like to watch scary movies and shows in the summer because it gives them chills which cools them down when it is hot. So, that's probably why they came up with this concept for "Married to the Music" as an August comeback theme.
Fun fact: SHINee is known as one of the very first groups to ever dress up in full costume for Halloween. They first did it for a fan meeting. Which gave Lee SooMan (the founder of SM) the idea to hold a costume party. Now SM is known for holding one of the largest costume parties every year. As part of the party there is a costume contest and the person with the best costume wins an all expenses paid vacation trip. Key is very competitive when it comes to fashion, costumes included, and the last time he attended the Halloween party he won. He came as Voldemort from Harry Potter. He hired a team of famous TV and movie makeup artists to make him look like the real character. Check out th-cam.com/video/ku2ulUYCzFM/w-d-xo.html to see just how amazing it was.
