Thanks Ed great vid in a nice chilled manner , I'm just about to install a 1200mm blade into a wall. On the woefully short cable from the transformer, is it not possible to bring the transformer out of the pond and hide any excess cable that way, therefore leaving only the cable you need in the pond?

Absolutely, in many instances I’ve concealed the transformer out of the pond and done just that-however one of the main selling points for these great but very expensive lights is the benefit of being able to submerse all components and only route one cable from the pond to a power supply-rather then multiple cables from multiple lights having to be routed from inside to outside the pond-which would be harder to do discretely and potentially unsightly. In general anything submersible from Oase comes with 10m of pre attached cable, but bizarrely and frustratingly this transformer doesn’t! Thanks for your comment! Best, Ed

Thanks for watching and commenting; the stone work used is cropped York stone and with the use of a disc cutter and a bolster and mallet I then cut and split the stone further to create different gauges of stone to create an interesting feature wall. I use this stone in many of my videos and frequently explain the process of cutting and splitting. Hope this helps! Best, Ed

@@CrystalClearAquatics Hi Ed I’m about to install a new sump and pump vault plus a water fall box the people I employed to do the job mest it all up so I’m going to try and do it myself it’s a bit daunting but I’m going to give it a go and your videos really inspire me so thank you so much….
Hi Gillian, Thanks for your comment and my apologies for the slow response. Your query is dependant on a few factors- how far out you leave the lip/extended lip of the blade from the wall its built into, the height of the blade from the surface of the water, angle the blade has been positioned, flow rate over the blade etc etc! However as an example the water blade on my pond (which is an oase 30cm extended lip version) is approx 40cm above the ponds surface, has been installed dead level (rather then leaning forward) the lip protrudes from the walling approx 6cm, flow rate is approx 2500lph and the projected film of water hits the ponds surface approx 20cm from the base of the walling. I prefer extended lip variants of water blades as the water splash is further from the walling and creates less splash and associated algae issues on the walling the blade sits in.
