I love livening things up with a spot of color... now I know how to do it with pan pastels. Fun!!

That is the most adorable little sea creature. I don’t have pan pastels yet, but watching you work with them makes me want them lol

Christi, I love your precision and excitement! I’ve had very little art instruction in the past, and you have fed me the courage to hunger for more!!! 💕

I just got some and to say they are an addiction is correct. I love how they apply. So in love.

Do the PanPastels need to be sealed on the clay either before or after baking? And if so, what do you use to seal it with?

Nice video! Thank you. I do have a question. Next you need to bake after coloring...when done, do you need to put a finish on or does the pan pastel come off or does baking make it part of the piece with no finish?

yes, baking is next and the panpastel is pretty durable so you don't need to put a coating on BUT if it's a piece you are going to wear, then it's probably a good idea to add one for extra protection. i use Satin Liquid Sculpey and even water it down 10-20% so it's less shiny. i think the shine can interfere with any organic feel, but that's just my preference. whatever you use, make sure it is compatible with polymer clay - not all glazes/coatings are! that why i use the sculpey product:

Wipe brushes of on T-shirt and you get 2 pieces of art for the effort of one. Lol
