He was my boss in the eighties. I worked either at The Hippodrome or Stringfellows depending on where they needed the most staff. For those that don’t know, the two clubs were minutes apart (walking distance). His daughter Karen also worked there. They were THE clubs to go to for star spotting. He was absolutely lovely. He could light up a room and I have such fond memories of working there . He made everything fun and if you worked hard, you never got told off. It’s the only place I’ve been employed that encouraged you to look outrageous. I adored it and I adored him. Thank you so much for covering his last resting place. It’s fitting it’s so quiet and understated. Exactly the opposite of his persona. Maybe we didn’t know him as well as we think. 🤔❤️🍾
Hello Joanne what a fantastic personal recollection of your time working for this guy, and it kind of reflects how he came over very accurate. He was definitely a personal so looked at life as something to be enjoyed in the best positive way and that's got to be wonderful in a world that as so much negativity thank you I really loved reading your comment. Alan
@ Well I really enjoy your video. It brought back so many happy memories. He was definitely of his time. I’m not sure he could have followed the same path now, especially with social media as it is. I grew up in Norwich, so coming to London was incredibly exciting. Peter knew how to make people happy and he was in his element doing so. He was definitely my most fun boss ever. Thank you. Jo x
I Met him over in Mallorca Spain in a supermarket, he was a down to earth guy and even introduced his Wife what a lovely couple and gave the time for a chat, so a nice guy in my book..
@@dianewood15 That's great Diane I will go on again live and just for a change I will announce it in advance I just want people to have the opportunity to direct me if they've got any requests
He seemed like he was an ok person. It is sad for his youngest children that he died when they were so young. Lovely place where his ashes were scattered but a shame no plaque. RIP Peter xx
Great video yet again Alan and what a character Peter was loud and brash and he ends up in one of the quietest places you could hope for. Take care mate and see you on the next one 👏👏👏👍
Hi Alan that place in the woods looks beautiful! it's sad there is no remembrance plaque. I have to admit I know nothing about Peter Stringfellow I did know the name but thats it. Thank you very much 👏👏👏👏💕
My husband bumped into Peter Stringfellow and Roddy Llewellyn on his stag night, and the two of them stuck around for the rest of the night Decent chap, by all accounts 😊
Hi Alan, what a magical setting that is. Wonderful place to feel that your loved one was scattered. I did wonder if there wasn't a marker because of how prominent a personality he was. There can be mean people about. I knew nothing about him so very informative as always. Thank you.
That was a great one Alan. Of course we've probably all heard of Peter Sringfellow but personally didn't know that much about him so I found this one very interesting. It seems ironic to me that his ashes were scattered in such a beautifully tranquil spot when his life was so glamorous and glitzy. Perhaps he should have gone under the floor boards of a nightclub lol!!!! Anyway, thanks Alan for another good one and I always love your lovely words at the end of your video. Best regards.
Excellent interesting filming Alan . Thank you so much , love watching your films, I met Peter Stringfellow and had a photograph taken with him once . He was a very nice and jokey person , he done an ad once in a newspaper with shall we say elderly women and I asked him to sign it saying how sexy they look , and in capital letters he wrote “ SEXY”!!!!! lol . Great man .
Been following you a long long time, beautifully presented videos with all the respect thy deserve. Could you take us to the final resting place of Robin Gibb, I believe it's at a church in Thame but I don't know which. Many thanks Alan ✌️
Hello Alan, hope you are well. Great video. Saw many of Pete's interviews through the years. Thought he came across as a cool guy who lived life to the full. A few friends of mine living in London, went to his club in the 80's. They loved it. I always felt a bit envious! I was living on the family farm and it was not easy to get away even for a w/e as work not pleasure was the priority. Very different times. Thank you. Lot's of love. 😘❤
You don't have to tell me Jo Jo I totally understand I also spent many years not doing exactly what I wanted because of the pressures he was a bit of an inspirational maverick they also believe there is some pain when you look at this kind of lifestyle with the different relationships. I hope you are getting the life you want now :-)
Hello Dave I totally agree with you it was always an optimistical beat some people had a got him because he was very extravert but he made a lot of pleasure and gave a lot of pleasure so I agree thank you my friend
Interesting video thanks for covering Peter Stringfellow. He certaintly was an interesting character, I remember the Cinderella Rockafellows I live in Leeds, it was a very popular place. 🍻
Maybe that’s all he wanted, maybe the birdbox is significant he was always surrounded by “ pretty birds”…..perhaps the family put it up as their own private marker. It sounds like it’s an area where those who have passed can have peace and their families too. Nice video tribute Alan 😊
Hi Al just thinking about you today, long time no see! Can't say I liked him ,a bit creepy and oily- yuk! But seeing you looking well is all I need! Stay well mate x
