There are some "Planetary Setup" options that allow you to make gears fixed, input, or output. This is on the newest version of the gear generator tool: geargenerator.com/beta/ These options will change whether a gear is setup as fixed or not. Keep in mind however, that all the gears have a relationship to one another. So if you make one gear fixed that will change the setup for the other connected gears. I'm no gear pro though, so you might have to just play around with it :)

I believe it is the diameter of the circle that is from the intersection of the "line of action" (which is the pressure angle 0° being perpendicular to the line between gear centers) and the line connecting the gear centers. In European gear terminology it is really easy: d=m×z (pitch diameter is equal to the module times the number of teeth) Americans have a tougher time with their crazy units!

I cant export many gears at the same time when it select DFX format, also I can´t xport toguether with the set, that is a seriusly weak point. other fail is that the DFX file contain to many segmens, separately, thats not to much useful. The variable that most impacts the size of the teeth is the diametral pitch. The larger you make this number, the smaller your teeth will be. However, as you adjust this variable your pitch diameter will naturally be adjusted in order to keep your number of teeth the same. If you want a larger gear with small teeth, first adjust your diametral pitch (number of teeth per inch of your pitch diameter) and then increase the pitch diameter to the proper size.
Great video! I am having difficulty when importing the cad file to Solidworks, the dimensions are totally off (much larger). Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this issue?
Sorry Evan, I am not familiar with AutoCad 2018 and DXF files. When I try to open it I get an error with line 48 saying the table flags are missing. It looks like you might be able to edit the DXF file using a text editor, adjust the appropriate lines, and then the file may work: knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-Invalid-or-incomplete-DXF-input-drawing-discarded.html I couldn't give you direct guidance on how to manage this.

The unit of measure on the tool is inches. I exported the file in SVG and measured the pitch diameter and compared my measurement to the populated field on my browser.
For those it may concern- the pricing has changed, and it is not voluntary anymore. I would have sent some money, but ended up paying about 10 Euro + taxes for the 24 hr download as a paid service. I may not come back.

Into the prompt line (after the >) type: callback(10000, "a") 3. press enter 4. click a download button You have to repeat the step 2 & 3 each time you want to download a gear

On Firefox highlight the gear you want by moving your mouse over it, and/or clicking on it. Then right-click on the gear, and choose inspect element. You will see portion of the page with the code highlighted. Copy it. (Ctrl+C) or right click and choose "Copy Inner html" Download Inkscape, create a new svg file and save it. Open the file with a text editor. You will see a tag . Change that to (remove the /) Then paste the path after it, and add a to the end. so it should be Save the file. Open the file in Inkscape to convert it to DXF and many other formats (Inkscape calls DXF Desktop Cutting Plotter format for some reason, so look for that). DXF can be opened up in AutoCAD or many other CAD systems.

Probably your problem consist in a inch to mm conversion, try to check if you are working in SI units.

With the latest update, the exported DXF can be opened with AutoCAD

There are some good python scripts for gear cads, or use the polygon source in his webpage.
