What a wonderful restoration! My Mum had an old school clock that needed a lot of work! It never worked right even when she got it! It was a 31 day clock made of heavy wood and brass! But she dropped it one day and that was it! If I would have gotten a hold of it I would have gave it to you to repair! I know you could have fixed it! Well that's gone now to bad cause I would have loved to have it working again!
Dude! I have two clocks that need suspension springs. Both are American movements. I’ve been trying to figure out how to fix them without having to order parts. That trick of using the measuring tape for the spring is genius. Great work, and thanks for the idea.
This channel should have half a million subscribers. It sucks trying to get traction on TH-cam when you first start out, especially when your videos and restorations are already of such a high caliber.
My first antique clock was in a similar shape when I founded it. I just checked the mechanics and put it back in his beat up case. It had charmeand helps to understand what went through before getting in my hands. But you managed to make a good restoration.
This video made me discover that my tiny travel stagecoach clock is the same brand. Ive been strugging to find out what the logo was on it and now ive found it finally after over two years of ownership! Also awesome clock.
There was no “escapement” from watching this till the end once I started. It’s ASMR but for the eyes more than ears. Very similar-looking to my 15-day Seth Thomas Canadian Pacific Railway clock of the same vintage. I am fortunate to have had a UK-trained clockmaker here in Peterborough, Ontario Canada give it a mechanical overhaul. People of your skill set are thin on the ground these days.
I just bought this exact clock and am looking to restore it as my first clock repair project. This video is so helpful! Thank you!!! You did a beautiful job!
I have one of those old Japanese clocks running in my living room. Different trim around the dial and case. Same horrible sounding "chime". It took some serious fiddling to get that to sound ok.
I purchased six antique Japanese clocks by Seikosha while stationed with US Air Force in northern Hunsho from antique dealers who would come on base to the base exchange. They all work. In your opinion are old Japanese wall clocks increasing in demand and value?
Vídeo fabuloso, é muito satisfatório ver esses vídeos de restauração, o relógio estava sujo e com defeito, mas depois ele foi consertado tendo a aparência original de fábrica.🤩🕰️
Any chance you can do a little video on repairing the westminster chime spring? Mine came off and I’m having trouble figuring if the ding hammer goes behind it or under it and where it faces when the spring fits in the little hole on the screw with the washer that has a little hole in it for the spring and where it is located in that cast iron 3 screw plate inside the clock
Hi I have the same Seikoshi clock but in the worst condition I'm from India I would like to restore it but I don't know where to give it for restoration in India could you help me with it ?
We have the same clock at home (need repair) Hyderabad, India. It was bought in 1930's in Visakhapatnam, India, when my grandmother was born. Not sure if anyone can restore it here.
I am surprised that you did not take the face to be printed at a professional copy place that would use a laser printer. It will not fade like ink jet printers, even if the ink jet printer uses pigments.
Absolutely great restoration. Brought it back to life!
I am a watch maker from Taiwan.
I feel you are very smart about the clock repair.
What a wonderful restoration!, very hard work and castration
It’s one thing to take apart-another to restore-but to put back together you are in a class of very few.

Hermoso trabajo. Bien hecho y muy buen criterio. Felicitaciones...
You should have put the name seikosha at the dial centre and at the bottom to show made by seikosha tokyo japan. What a beautiful restoration.

Please give your contact .. I need a restoration of a same clock...
Жалко часы, хоть они и не дорогие. «Мастер-реставратор» уничтожил старину и часы после такой реставрации уже не восстановить.
