    Thanks, mine was beeping also and it turns out I forgot to reset the timer when I last changed the bulb. By the way, before I change the filters, I close the water valve from the outside but leave the one going to the house open. I open a faucet in the house to relieve the pressure in the line, then close that valve also. It makes it easer to loosen the housing for the filter and doesn't spray water when I remove it.

      Thanks for watching, normally I just bypass valves but next time I will do what you suggest and relieve the pressure so it will be easier to open. Thanks for the tip.

    What’s the Phillips screw on top of filter in the middle of cap for ?? Is that to release pressure ??

    • @exoticwoodpen
      @exoticwoodpen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is, there is one for each pre and post filter.

    Does it ever freeze where you live? Outside it doesn't work here very long

      I'm in Southern California, at the lowest it gets 31 Degrees Fahrenheit but only for a couple of nights a year.

    Does that filter hamper the water pressure at all, Gabe?

    • @exoticwoodpen
      @exoticwoodpen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not at all, my whole house has filtered water now.

      It does to some extent - it did not initially, but now if we have the washer going, shower loses pressure - not too much, but I will just raise the pressure a bit from outside to 75psi as it is at 70psi coming into the house right now - may be you want to do that - but before doing it, test it to see - buy a pressure gauge and attached it to outside hose bib ..there are videos on how to do that.

    Does it matter if I order the white one or the blue one? When I opened it was the white one

    • @exoticwoodpen
      @exoticwoodpen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the white uv light is a different one than the blue one, the white one is shorter than the blue and has a different plug.

    ok so the way I made things work, is that I DID NOT change the bulb since mine was still running and the light was still good - The timer is there to help you manage and is simply a reminder for a "big item". I was past due 7 days and the indicator was showing -7 on the dial and started to beep rapidly - I unplugged it, removed the screw on the silver canister, then I plugged it back in, held the RESET button, it went through the reset process and I let it go - it counted down and now it is showing 356 days - it basically took the 7 days off..lol... ok whatever - I did not replace the bulb but when it does burn out, I will replace it, simply write down on the board/wall the date you replaced it - and count down yourself - and when it beeps, just shut it up - it makes no sense to replace a bulb that costs $130 when it is not burned out just because the unit beeps. OH, and screw the wire back on to the canister. Have a nice day

      Thanks for sharing your process. I will do that when it starts to beeb next time. Appreciate the info!

      how do you know when the bulb is burnt out. is there a light on the unit?

      So you're saying the ground wire has to come off ?
      take off the ground wire > unplug unit > plug back in > reset button > ground wire back on .
