Thank you for posting the menu during you were cruising. I had been looking for someone to video the dinner from the formal dinner and you did great in showing the entire length of the cruise. My family and I are schedule for July 23-31, 2022 on Carnival Horizon and you have answer my concern about what were being serve on formal nights. The food looks great and tasty.

That's awesome! Hope you have a great time on the Magic! From what I remember, they have the free pasta bar at lunch up in the Cucina as well on the Magic, but no JiJi's Asian. They still have a big ol' Mongolian Wok station downstairs though. Love it!! :D
Just got off the Horizon on Saturday and i am sure i have gained 10 pounds from all the food. (i am afraid to actually weigh myself at this point because i know how much i ate!) Two-Three appetizers, two entrees maybe (especially with the lobster nom nom) and oooooh DESSERT! This video just makes me want to book another cruise ASAP to go and eat again!
I always love watching what y’all have for supper and any other time. I need to start trying different things, I usually stick with the same things but there good. Can’t wait to try the new desserts on the buffet. Hope there as good as they look. Still looking forward to your Ecstacy vlogs. I think we've eaten our way through the American Table menus quite a few times, but I can still find good stuff on there, ha ha... the new lunch cakes are definitely better all around than the old stuff, and the confetti cheesecake one was our favorite on the Liberty. We'll see ya in December... we'll be the really tall folks, probably carrying around a stack of ship trophies, ha haaaaaa... :P

We've talked about trying to assemble one "perfect" meal from all the selections that Carnival usually offers, given two apps, two entrees, and two desserts, ha ha... mine ended up being baked onion soup, pork & kale tarts, duo of filet & short rib, bbq spare ribs, bitter & blanc bread pudding, and a banana split from the kids menu! Dee's was greek salad (minus the onions), veg spring rolls, teriyaki salmon, seared striped bass, tiramisu, and double roasted pineapple. Woohoo!! :D
Yes, I still remember the old 2014ish menus, back before American Table. But we've been enjoying these new offerings for probably five years or so now, ha ha... I can always find something tasty on there!! :D
You should! Most of the American Table MDR menus are standard across the fleet, with the exception of the special port of call section that changes every day depending on where you are in the world. Love it!! :D
Great videos. We are booked on the Horizon this coming March. Having done our first cruise a year ago on RCL, we were very spoiled with the food selection. Did you find that the portion sizes were good? The ship looks wonderful. Can’t wait.
We've found the portion sizes to be good all around... every now and then you'll run into something small (usually a vegetarian offering) but you can always order another entree at that point, ha ha... :P
The menus are pretty standard across all ships, so it should be remarkably similar. The only thing that may change is the "Port Of Call" section, depending on if your ports are different that ours were.
Just came off the Horizon August 10th 2019 and I can truly say based on my experience on Royal and Norwegian that Carnival food is mediocre. They don’t even open the whole buffet for dinner time it’s always one part close the food is barely hot they don’t let you toast your own bread so you’re eating cold toast the grits has huge lumps they close the buffet right in front of your face even though they see a line of people waiting to eat. The hot dogs are warm the hot dog bun is semi hard. The meat selections for dinner are crazy such as veal, lamb and some kind of chicken smothered in tomatoes and onions. Guys burger are amazing the steak house is amazing and the main dining room food is crap every night I had to choose a selection that cost in order to have a good meal. The drinks at the bar was great. The eggs was runny and not fully cooked , you have to go to the omelette station to get fully cooked eggs. The desserts are complete trash except for their vanilla moose cake all the rest are dried out. Their room service chicken wings taste old freezer burn, I asked for a new order they sent it freshly prepared ( it’s like if you don’t say anything they’ll try to pass old food on you. I’ll never cruise Carnival again Norwegian has the best food hands down and Royal comes in second
We've really only had food issues on one ship recently with Carnival, but we do have fond memories of some of their food from 10-15 years ago, and have noticed some changes more recently that we like, but a few more changes that we don't like. The MDR desserts are probably the most notable thing that used to be better back in the day, ha ha... We rarely dine on lido for dinner, so we don't have a lot of experience there. We're excited to be trying Norwegian for the first time (and second time) next year, and hitting some more Royal, as well as Celebrity. We're stoked to check out how some other folks do food!! :D
True, ha ha... there's usually always a free flat iron steak in the MDR every night, plus the option to pay $20 for a more "premium" steak. I'm not a steak connoisseur, so I really don't know the difference. :P We've tried the steakhouse a few times, and it has been good, but we're not completely sold on the experience just yet, ha ha...
True, we did a whole Royal vs Carnival video based on our limited experiences, and Royal won the food in a lot of categories, ha ha... but we've never had an issue with the food on Carnival, overall. :D
Yeeeah, the pause button is definitely helpful. I try to pan each menu page for about 15 seconds, but they can be hard to read. I might look into making a PDF copy for download in the future!!
Having been on several cruise lines I am sorry to say, that while the menu offerings sound wonderful, the actual dishes look sloppily presented and unappealing. Whoever heard of serving a medium well done Beef Wellington or escargot on a plate and not in a special dish.
They still use the special white porcelain escargot dishes on Carnival in most cases, but I have seen them just come out on a regular plate sometimes, true. Some other lines have the metal escargot pans, like we've seen those on Royal.
