Yeah i noticed there were a few tutorials. I went with the modified catherine to have less holes. Your's turned out great.
I think Sanita made a hat using that stitch. It was tutorial with another stitcher... wait...Sanita makes Crocheted items hats 3-4-5-6-7-ETC.

Don't, the stitch will be easier with an acrylic than i the cotton. For me, cotton is not a pliable and works my hands very hard.
