Great suggestion! I haven't use a lot though. Only ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, and Fortigate. PA is my favourite at the moment. I've briefly looked at Sonic Wall I guess. Not enough for a comparison.
In a sense... but I think this firewall setup splits the inner interfaces into smaller zones. In other words you're creating pockets in the network where data can flow. A regular firewall just makes the network into a giant zone. Correct me if I am wrong. I am a computer science student and barely know what I am doing half the time.
