not really. when people get asked what thier favourite comedy moment is, they think its a quiz and that the bar scene is the right answer. ask them who the best singer ever was and they'll go 'Oh, I know. its Frank Sinatra, isnt it?' theyre too afraid to give thier opinion in case it's 'wrong.

Sent me farther down the rabbit hole of clown philosophy than I certainly expected I'd go. I ended up doing comedy shows in clown at people's curbsides all they the pandemic. The sacred clown got us all they that year... And it's still with me. I'm glad to be back on stage in regular clothes but I love getting booked for the clown comedy. It's my favorite.

Additionally, I'd just like to say, what the hell is all this, "we're about to run out of time" shit. There is too much of THE UNIONS in you, chaps, and sometimes it's just best to let it go. This is one of the most important and, yes, enjoyable discourses on the history of not only slapstick comedy but *comedy*... /COMEDY/, gentlemen, ever recorded. Robin, we should have retained the Freddy Starr clip. We should have. Nonetheless I am so very grateful for the 2:10:02 you did upload. I feel so very fortunate to be able to witness it. Apologies Henning. And Germans. Many thanks.

A great couple of hours. Most people celebrate their sixteenth birthday by underage drinking with friends, taking drugs, dancing or, if they are lucky, spending quality physical time with their chosen romantic partner. For my sixteenth, I went to see Max Wall's one-man show at the Shaw Theatre in London. Back in the 80s I ended up performing for too many years on the comedy circuit and shared bills with some hugely talented acts - including the two people on this video - but none came close to Max Wall.
