Well you all advocated for merit only admissions and this is apart of it because if a university can be successful with lower achieving Legacy students then that same university can be successful with Black students , Latino students , Asian students
This had nothing to do with Black Americans
@@DoDahhhhhhhhh yes it does low scoring legacy succeed in these schools and so could black students
Since those schools are totally private, California's new anti-legacy law will end up in court. How about legacy hiring practices. Lots of people get jobs because being related to someone. Look at the movie industry as an example.
It's an interesting take from Gavin Newsom considering he's a family legacy politician.
So you want favoritism for anyone isn’t black.
@@l.j.r.8448 Try not to bring race into the video. I know it's hard for you.
@@jimfesta8981 problem for you is, this is about race.
@@jimfesta8981 what’s the similarity between a for profit corporation and a private college? Both are regulated by the government. Are you being stupid on purpose?
where are all those pro-merit-based comments? [crickets]
Yes. Make it completely merit-based. In addition any extra curricular activities that cost a lot of money should be minimized or excluded as a college admission factor. Trips to abroad, horse back riding, polo lessons…you get the idea.
0:38 Well if her family talks like her then I completely understand why none of them have been to Stanford 🙄🙄🙄🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Yet whites and asians are upset?
Her test scores were higher than yours.
