Unfortunately, realistic and calming are definitely two different things. The baby crying was just not what was needed tonight.

Maybe its because your perception of this experience was a bad one.
Me personally i correlate a real flight (which almost always includes crying babys) with exhaustment. In other terms without the crying baby in this simulation, it wouldnt resemble MY REALITY of a flight -> which is exhaustment or more precisely the desire to sleep. 😬

Thanks for this. In my case, I am used to my surroundings being quiet at night (the occasional truck or motorcycle, but no beeping buzzing singing conversing or pretty much anything else but people snoring and refilling their water) and this is massively difficult to fall asleep to. But in my case I am doing my best to get used to traveling, so I am playing this and trying to get used to these sounds I never hear and also get used to headphones. It isn’t necessarily the most enjoyable thing for me but it is immensely helpful for the future, so again, thank you.

A lot of times these videos really work for people afraid of flying. Very nice. As realistic as it gets here!
@@pure_awareness Yes! It was my best one yet (even though there was turbulence). My biggest tip is to listen to something that soothes you and do loads of deep breathing to relax your body as much as possible the second you get on the plane. Also imagining we were flying low (and not super high) seemed to make me feel better this time too.

What is it about airplanes that makes people cough 🤔 is it the pressurized oxygen? The altitude??

I used to be a "traveller" and have been to almost every continent, have been on 24 hour flights on my own multiple times, first time at the age of 19, having had to switch airplaines in hongkong without todays technologies at hand etc. and, since I'm from Europe, also have been on so many short flights to closer countries, I don't even remember how many. I used to love travelling and flying - but after having a stroke at age 30 (I was lucky enough to recover fully) while being on a short trip away from home, right before the pandemic hit and then having to deal with the aftermath while trying to stay at home as much as possible to not become sick etc. has really changed me :-/ I developed such bad anxiety about leaving my "safe space" home/city - but I miss my old self so much! I have taken small steps towards healing and last year I was able for the first time again to take the ferry to spend a few days on a little domestic island, which felt like I had just climbed to the top of a mountain!
This year my goal is to finish my studies and also to take my first flight again. I am super super scared, I can't even tell you why. Because I am not scared of flying itself - I guess it's just the thought of being away from my "safe home".
As I was contemplating booking my first little trip to spain in a few weeks, but being terryfied over the thought of having to fly, I thought I would give it a try and turned on this video, listening with my headphones.
The first "ding" noise completely caught me off guard and I have been crying (while typing this right now) ever since! But not out of fear...to my surprise the opposite has happened: The noises give me a soothing feeling! I feel super relaxed, not anxious at all but excited for the "trip"! Hearing the captain speak made me remember all of the times I have been in airplanes in anticipation of my destination, being super excited about travelling! I can basically smell the airplane air/seats everything, and it somehow smells nice to me right now! I would have never thought I would have such a strong, positive reaction to the thought/feeling of being in an airplane!
Thank you so much for this video - maybe this will give me the courage to take my first flight again this year, so I can finally start to feel like myself again!

It was already included in the recording I used and I was aiming for realism (annoying bits included 🙂) on this one, so I kept it. But I know that it's not for everyone :-)

@@nikocet8282 The cabin sound that I used is from the sound library of Epidemic Sound, I'm glad that you liked it. The kid's sound is part of another recording, and you can think of that as part of the realism I suppose 😉. But, I know that it may not be for everyone.
