You explained this so well!! I have a couple questions: -do you have to use heavier cardstock for this? I have the 65lb one, just wondering if that will work? -if you dont mind sharing, where do you make your svgs? Thanks again!
This one was created in design space. I use 80 - 100 lb cardstock for these because the little pieces tend to flop backwards with anything lighter. I will use a 65 lb on the back though if its a solid piece so it lets more light through
this is nice ty so much! can you tell me how you decide the colors of each layer? i want to try to make one of these for my friends dog that passed. any idea how to take an personal image and do this?

This is awesome. Couple of questions though. How long does a charge on the lights last roughly? Also so you would have to take it off the wall etc and place it next to a computer/laptop to recharge it? Thank You
Thank you for a different way to do these!!! I just started and want to sell my own on Etsy on my shop. Any advice on how to target an audience of people and how to get my first sale?
First don’t just sell on Etsy make your own website sell there too. When people by from Etsy they just say they got the item on Etsy and not the story name. The fees can be kind of high as well. Also don’t even dabble in copywrite or trademarked items your shop will be taken down quickly. You have to market yourself Etsy won’t do it for you so get all your social media channels going and post process videos and finished product videos as often as possible
Beautiful but question, do you cut all out all of the project or use the contour button and cut only the outlines of the pictures and hide the rest of the puctures? Make sense
So do you cut different sizes of card stock or cut out the same sizes of each cardstock to see each layer even the light is on in the frame example is each card stock 9.72 like you said or like one is 9.72 and the other is a different size
Hello Corinne, Thanks for the tutorial, I just purchased your HP light box download, I am new to Cricut machine so I will see how it goes..fingers crossed that I can do this. Maybe a tutorial on which file to upload would be good. Once uploaded I don't know if I save as simple moderate or complex and then as print and cut or just cut.
With the svg which may show as an internet browser file you do not choose any of the options. It uploads already cleaned up and ready to cut. Just resize it for your box
Love this and thank you for all your awesome videos. I would love to make this with a lake scene & Adirondack chairs. Do you have an svg with a lake scene. I would buy it.
I don't sell products. but I recommend getting your own website over allowing some other platform to take money from you and control what you do. I use wix
If the roll of strip lights is like 16 feet long and you only need 2 for the box, what do you do with the rest of the light strip? Do you just throw it away or is there a way to utilize all of it?
Did you cut your image smaller than the shadow bow to account for the lights, or just have the lights behind the layers? I purchased an image that had 8 layers, cut it 8x8 for my 8x8 shadow box, and I can't seem to make it fit in the shadow box I have. It gets too tall, so I thought maybe lights around it would be better, but the foam might block out the lights.
You need to have the control box and plug and the remote. Honestly most of the time its cheaper to buy the shorter strips and just not cut them down and make more strands.
Mary, the images are not cut 'from' the squares. They are silhouette images 'welded' to the square frames, apart from the fireworks images which were laid onto a solid square and then 'sliced' out
It looks like the LED link doesn't have a disconnect before the USB connector. Wouldn't the hole have to be much larger without this feature in order to fit the entire end of the USB cord?
This is a great tutorial! I'm wondering if you could use a narrow foam mounting tape instead of the foam core? Or is that typically not thick enough? I do like Disney and think the changing lights works well for the fireworks in the background. I'm just not sure yet what I want to do for my scene? But I love seeing the "how to"! Thank you for sharing!
@@CorinneBlackstone would you recommend leaving the backing on the one side of the foam tape so the next layer doesn't actually stick to it in case removal is needed for any reason?
Switch doesn't exist. These are remote controlled. And lightbox usually means a small flat item that emits light used for tracing images. A shadow box is a deep frame.
