bro this is NOT an easy song to cover... and you can actually tell from this performance... they're struggling a little to maintain the tone (and at moments, the tune) but at least the passion is there; gotta' applaud Dan for even trying to pull this off during a live session. TL Barrett's original recording is a goddamn master class in R&B soul. I'm grateful to any modern band who is inspired or influenced by that album and introduces it to a fresh audience. you can tell the crowd here didn't recognize the song. they were ready to clap like it was over @ 2:36 before the vocal breakdown
Dan Auerbach is so talented damn with that said though this version does not do justice to the OG the original recording of this is one of the greatest 5 minutes in documented music history
Yeah, they're an amazing band. Sadly, one of the members died to alcoholism and now they've dismantled, so they were short-lived, but when they were around, it was awesome.
TL Barrett and the Youth for Christ Choir 1971 Original Absolutely beautiful
The lord forgives you for this.
😂
These covers they've done live have been absolutely brilliant. Also introduced me to some great older music

Simply amazing.
The Arcs live > The Arcs
YES
My first concert was the arcs, and it was beyond amazing,
Love the bass on this song…they are nailing it. Joyful my dude!
Richard Ashcroft also does an incredible version of this old classic
I'm getting a CCR vibe from this song, I like it.
The Arcs are incredible. Can't wait for the second album. If you haven't seen them live you're missing out.
Too bad I don't live in the U.S. Definitely would love to see them live
Great song

Holy Cow. I have no idea who these guys are, but the fact that they play this song makes them instantly awesome.

Live album/DVD combo? Make it happen!!

Come to Atlanta!
TL Barrett was the first time I heard this song 🎵. They're trying but they are off a bit. Still a good song
pastor T.L. Bartill (I think I might have the last name wrong but something like that) and the youth choir. Like a ship (without a sail)
djhero0071 Pastor T.L Barrett and the Youth Choir, some of the funkiest Jesus lovers I’ve ever heard.
And this is awesome, but the original is even better
@@millerezra8 and you know this Man 👏🏽👏🏽
T L Barrett and the Youth in Christ Choir 💯💫
Can anyone please tell me what the chord progressions are on this song? I'm a drummer, but I play a lot of piano and I LOVE this song.
Utter atrocity
Gotta sink a few ships to learn how to sail i guess.
Really….?? Ok kids, this isn’t how you play guitar.
Man...that “vocal breakdown”/guitar “solo” was awful.
It was weak but I give them credit for trying 😊👏🏽
Goddamn was that terrible. Gives me hope I can actually make it as a musician!
horrible cover
