The 400 candidates at or above 80%ile given in question, do they comprise of candidates scoring 80%ile in only P (i.e 3); overall 90%ile and those candidates scoring 80%ile in only P and below 90%ile overall?
The Venn diagram that we have prepared is only for those 200 candidates who are at 90th%'ile or above overall and who are at 80th%'ile or above in atleast one of p, c, m. Among these candidates those who are at 80th%'ile or above in physics can be 80 or 104 (as per the Venn diagram). It means the remaining 400 - 80 = 320 or 400 - 104 = 296 are those candidates who are at 80th%'ile or above in physics but are not at 90th%'ile or above overall.

Kindly note that the information given in the four points is for those 200 candidates who are at or above 90th percentile overall based on CET.
Also anyone who is outside a particular circle is below 80th percentile in that section. So according to point (1), no one is below 80th percentile in all the three sections. We took that value as 0. But there can be candidates below 80th percentile in zero, one, two sections. So, condition (4) is satisfied.

Such sets should be attempted only in the second round (when you have already attempted easier sets).
Sir it is written no one is below 80th percentile so why did you take 2x+b , 2x+b ,2x+c
It is given that no one is below 80th percentile in all 3 sections.
There can be some persons who are below 80th percentile in exactly two sections or in exactly three sections.

When we take x as 17, we will get d as -1. But number of persons cannot be negative. Hence we cannot take x as 17 or a higher number.
