I've seen the Bug + Flowdan some days ago. I knew the Bug for his collaboration with Earth. Now I am discovering his extraordinary world. Kevin is a musical genius. In his pieces you find dub, noise, industrial, blended in a unique way. A true artist, and a very intelligent and sensitive person as you can see from this interview.
Hell yeah this guy Kevin Martin and Justin Broadrick,Benny, Mick Harris and John Zorn pushed music in 90s and aughts and the work they today is still sick as fuck
Props to this artist, stumbled on him through YT and his collabs with Daddy Freddy. It was very satisfying to a an old geezer to hear his comments on dub, and respect for citing the genius Lee Perry. Very insightful to mention William Burroughs in the next breath. Brilliant!
Only just discovered The Bug because I got an alert for a show a few weeks ago that he was playing that fit my interests (that I couldn't go to because I working that Friday night) Have since checked out his stuff and it is mindblowing. I have so much catching up to do Interestingly enough when he talks about dub being in cinema and literature as well an academic would label that Postmodernism. But maybe Postmodernism is really just dub :)
You can tell, he speaks from experience. Doesn't hesitate because he speaks truth. Thank you for giving me inspiration in the vein of truth.
He definitely does speak the truth. Thanks for tuning in!
