I would get Revelry Annoint on Amulet for +25 flat mana and 15% incr. Mana and i would consider max rolled (few points of mana regen) Atziri's Foible best in slot with Fertile Catalysts on it. I don't have your big brain tho. That is the first thing i saw and was thinking maybe that will improve the builds mana pool a little more.
Has anyone tested Elementalist instead of Inquisitor , it fixes reflect elemental problem and also lightning + chaos or stone golem are nice buffs i dont see the down side?
I think you're *under* estimating how much the "damage taken as mana before life" mods are boosting your life pool. Mind over matter doesn't give you 30% more hp but rather 1/(1-0.3) = 42% more hp. Not sure how the other mods stack with this, but if they just add up to 50% then that's really 1/(1-0.5) =2 times as much hp, not 50% more. In that case your seemingly squishy 4.4k hp character is boasting something close to 9k, which is pretty ridiculous. This is of course assuming your mana pool never runs out. The way to think about this is that if you were to have 100% damage taken as mana before life, with an infinite mana pool, that wouldn't be 100% more life but rather 1/(1-1) = infinite life, which is why GGG has to be pretty careful introducing new sources of this mod to the game...
1/(1-1) = 1/0 = undefined. The limit of 1/x as x approaches 0 *is* infinity from the positive side, but negative infinity from the negative side, therefore it's undefined. Isn't math fun?
The way that I understood it is that when you take any amount of damage the % of MoM is diverted from your health and taken as mana. So if you take 7000 damage you would be taking 4900 to your life total and 2100 to your mana, meaning that for a single hit which is all that ultimately matters in this game, it improves your maximum "potential" healthpool for one hit to that number. I may be wrong of course but looking at what the Wiki says I think that is how it works.

Trying the next level today with now a cheap a** staff build and other crappy gears BUTT got mah Foreboding flask, so let's see how that goes. I think it is kind of false advertising to say you are a 'couple of exalts invested' into your current setup (10:18). Just the pledge of hands 6l will cost you minimum 2 ex already (currently listed for 4 ex, but thats because you made this video so I won't count that). The double influenced chest has a baseline cost of an awakeners orb as well, which is 5+ex without even considering the price of the actual bases and further crafting. That being said, I agree that you can steamroll t16s with a < 2 ex budget (probably way less even, like 50c) and I think the build will be fine and doable as a league start, but the performance wouldn't even be close to what is showcased in the video. The staff swap alone will cost you half of your dps, and you would also lose 20% MoM (which comes out to ~30% of your EHP). I think it would've been better to showcase the tests you mentioned you ran with the shitty staff + tabula. This build guide seems to be targeted towards newer/less experienced players, and that sort of info would be more valuable and relevant to them as well as lining up much better with what you are talking about in the video.
Also he didn't mention that the build get's one freaking shot frequently ... Ok I miss the explody chest, but I have res capped , 3500 / 6300 mana, clarity watcher eye, mana before life chest everything done and still get one shotted frequently even when pressing the flask, Minotaur is a nono even on a crappy map.
@@thealchemist3575 with 3500 life. you're at about 6-7k effective hp, but if you take a big hit right after casting, you'll be at around 4-5k, which is definitely in one shot range for a lot of stuff. mino's unburrowing is often a one shot even for 7k life builds (7k9 phys damage), so dodge him.
This looks really interesting. Nowadays I don't take too much stock in what's considered OP unless the build is equally as viable if Harvest crafting doesn't exist.
This mana flask interaction reminds me of how the "Enduring" mana flask worked a few patches ago. Since you brought this "queue" interaction to light, it could be nerfed. Nice build though.
@Hiro When I use the mana flask which have the same mod, it just flat didn’t regenerate mana while up time and couldn’t be stacked, did I do something wrong? It’s quite difficult to regenerate enough mana to cast even with mana flasks
First of all : quality content. Despite 10k+ hours i still appreciate a solid pob explanation/notes. Secondly, i tried the assassin build but didnt like it one bit. Must not be for me. Went for necro archmage cremation this league, 40/40 achieved, i m trying this now. Just got to act 6, spellslinger style, obviously loving it. Might leaguestart as this if necro get s a butthurt load of nerfs. Or just for fun. :B looks solid. Last, it seems fun to play. Also ascendant, my least played char. So ye. Thanks a bunch.
This kinda reminds me a lot of the akane MoM miner build. Not that the are similar a great deal, but they have some common very interesting build mechanics.

I've been wanting to league start a non-mine scion for 3.12 and wasn't sure what to do, this randomly popped up in my recommendations today, looks great.
I league started this and it’s as great as expected. Note however that I didn’t swap to Spellslinger as I couldn’t get a single 4 link until I was already past lvl 38. I decided it wasn’t worth switching with only 3 links, and Stormblast Mine and Orb of Storms carried me through to 38 just fine. Thanks for the great guide, Ducks!
Thanks for the build man currently running it exactly how you do it. I just dont undersgand what spellslinger does, how it works, how it interacts with triggering frenzy and wave of conviction. So losses on it nut the builds so strong it is doing work. Great job and great video guide

Very cool build and absolutely steamrolls over everything I've put in front of it so far (granted I'm only level 70 at this point). Been looking for an explode chest with the 10% damage taken from mana mod but they're hard to find at this point in the league... been using Cloak of Defiance in the meantime. Look forward to more of your builds!!!
Ok, I started playing this build. Great fun, took a bit to get it to "click" during leveling but was able to get the Foreboding flasks all the way down to Colossal to work. Also, Soulthirst belt just seems to be made for this build, at least while leveling. We'll see at what point it needs upgrading. The 24% reduced flask effect duration sure seems help. Fun build!
cracking lance would be way worse, the biggest thing about ball lightning is the damage effectiveness, it has a 50% damage eff but hits 13 times, giving you 6.5 times more damage from archmage added flat, while cracking lance has 90% damage eff scaling and only hits once, basically meaning that the added damage from archmage would be 7 times less effective, not to mention that cracking lance needs intensify and the spell echo repeats dont count towards intensify, meaning you'd have to cast 16 times to get 4 intensity or not use pledge of hands.
Harvest was my 1st league, i was kinda struggling with coc nova and tried this one. It was amazing for all content, done sirus a8 and cortex without dying, delve 250ish, one shot conquerors, no hit shaper, uber elder, its immune to lab traps. And all at lvl 80. Great build

Been playing Akane's BL Miner Scion for 2 leagues now. This looks like a different and faster take for an MOM Scion. I'll be trying this one out for next league if it isn't hit so hard. Good Content !!

Pretty sure the arcanist brand curse thing ggg said wouldn't work was about using curse on hit, because at least in general you can't use triggers inside other triggers. Curses being cast normally works of course as they are just spells

We're safe boys, they only nerfed AoE (which decently hurts to DPS) and flat damage (not a big deal considering archmage support). Agnostic untouched, Foreboding flask untouched, Watcher's Eye clarity mod untouched. Also I'm pretty curious about Sigil of Power skill, seems like good boss DPS boost for archmage (in case you would need even more DPS for some reason) and Pinpoint support. Btw since Arc cannot be purchased as scion at Act 1, I'd probably gonna try out league starting with Crackling Lance.
i was going to ask, how would this build be with crackling lance versus ball lightning? or is this build mainly for ball lightning and wouldn't work with a channeling skill like crackling lance? also, its says in the patch notes crackling lance wont be available until sever the right hand, which isn't until act 3, so what would you level before that with this build? thanks in advance for any answers you can provide

Actually already got to Act 3 with 2 link stormblast mine + 2 link orb of storms on SSF with this build POB. Obviously using almost no damage passives and only 2-link main spell wasn't the smoothest leveling I've ever had, but it still was surprisingly okay'ish.

Similiarly how the flat damage gem nerf doesnt affect archmage (only 3% less damage), so doesn't the sigil of power, its only 7% more damage on 4 stages; tho the defences are really nice.

They're not perfectly rolled stat wise, but I'm hoping it'll be good enough to still take out content. Not doing anything super juicy, I just want to easily clear T16's and Sirius when he pops :)
just rolled this build last night! holy fuck, its legit. once you get used to flask management and skill management early game like level 40..... everything melts. i had a helmet with an enchant for slower ball lightening wearable at level 55. dude some bosses last less than 2 secs
I've played it both ways and I prefer inquisitor when I have a bottled faith (consistent consecrated ground) and hierophant when I don't. When choosing heirophant it is for the "8% of damage taken from mana before life", not for the max mana.

I missed Delirium so I haven't tried Archmage yet and it's rare I play Scion sadly so I'll probably give this a shot as a league starter next league. 23:25 lol so what your saying is we need more damage! On a serious note, if you don't have the clarity watcher's eye, would you take Supreme Ego?
This build gets really good once you get 7+ passive mana flask charges every 3 sec... you have pretty close to 100% flask uptime assuming you keep spamming the flask (and not counting initial 7 sec to get flask effect activated)... the key is to keep spamming the mana flask to keep the flask effect "active"... if you lapse for too long you'll find yourself quickly OOM having to wait another 7 sec for flask effect to activate.
So I'm trying this build as my league start and I understand that the foreboding eternal mana flask is key. My question is, is the warding part also integral? Or would an "of staunching" work just as well if I rolled warding on another flask?
Awesome guide, this will probably be my league starter (either this or the creeping frost occultist). But I have one question, if you league start with this build, which spell should you level with? You can get Arc in Act 3 as a Scion, but not before that. Sorry, if this is a noob question.
Hi there, any suggestions on the alternate gems ? for instance divergent spell echo with a 60% increased damage on the last spell seems huge, but there are so many gems to choose from, I cannot test them all. Any recommendations ?
Nice build, i just started trying it out but with a non-crit version and using Supercharged cluster jewel notable and the scion-hierophant asendant :) Is it possible to convert this to at Spark build just by taking the increased effect duration in the passive tree near the scion start, or do u need more change?
Mate, how do you colour your Pledge of Hands? Omfg, already used 400+ chrom manualy (best way for vorici calculator), and still nothing! Hit 4 Red 2 Green 5 times :/
I have my old BL miner but this is even better? It's not everyday that you can find something better than mined version... Your mana management was better than my RF Hierophant with AtzFoible and other mana boosters, had the same flask but it didn't worked that well as your ascendancy.
BL Miner is still probably going to better in terms of boss DPS but as the video shows this build is no light weight in single target and the clear is superb.

@@jetlee88 "Foreboding eternal mana flask" gives 3600 mana "instantly at end of flask effect". From the tree he stacks multiple flask gained and less flask charges used. He has 3 flask charges gained every 3 seconds from Pathfinder. So he just stacks all of this and spam the flask to regain mana

The PoB and the video don't mention what skills to level with. I mean you do mention Arc prior to 24 in the notes of the PoB if using the Spellslinger option but I was going with the Archmage option and Arc isn't available to Scion. I'd like to use this as my 3.12 league start so can you please let me know the best leveling skills to use prior to level 38 when we get Unleash? Thanks!

I really enjoy your builds HOWEVER lately the Path of Building keeps showing me errors when downloading. I checked that my POB version is up to date 1.4.170. Do you have any ideas?
No. The way it works is that you spend your first 2 toward the pathfinder. Spend the next two by spending one on Pathfinder and one on the path to Hierophant. Then spend the next two to get Hierophant. When you complete the Eternal Labyrinth, you can get the path of the Ranger.
What would you say are the pros and cons of this build vs the BV assassin for league start? I did BV assassin earlier in the league and really liked it but this certainly looks interesting too. Looks a good deal more expensive though

Hey, fun build but struggling to obtain never ending mana refill. I would like to know what factors contribute to 100% mana refill much how you display in your video? I have the flask, gear, flask nodes, and all ascendencies but have died many a time because I could not fire for a second or two. Mashing the flask button repeatedly did nothing but restart the flask countdown. I may have missed something in the explanation but like I say, not confident to take true end game content until I can solve this mana regen issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, it has been asked but what pantheon major/minors do you recommend? Thanks!
I tried copying the Build to POB but it says there are errors with it. I checked POB to be sure its updated & it says that it is. I really enjoy your builds, specially your notes as to why you are doing with the tree, skills, etc. Is there something I'm not doing in order to load POB?

@@satibel Beside Mino many things one shot me... I can reach 4k life and 6k mana exactly what Big duck has but I will still be one shotted...
I've tried league starting with it. Day 2 now, and struggling to get past T5. Not to mention, EXTREME RSI.

I'm not sure it will be nerfed as if it was nerfed the flask would be completely useless. But you never know with GGG.
They nerfed flask Clusters alrdy bcause of akanes mom builds but its still ok

Also, Soulthirst belt just seems to be made for this build, at least while leveling. We'll see at what point it needs upgrading. The 24% reduced flask effect duration sure seems help. Fun build!

cracking lance would be way worse, the biggest thing about ball lightning is the damage effectiveness, it has a 50% damage eff but hits 13 times, giving you 6.5 times more damage from archmage added flat, while cracking lance has 90% damage eff scaling and only hits once, basically meaning that the added damage from archmage would be 7 times less effective, not to mention that cracking lance needs intensify and the spell echo repeats dont count towards intensify, meaning you'd have to cast 16 times to get 4 intensity or not use pledge of hands.

Harvest was my 1st league, i was kinda struggling with coc nova and tried this one. It was amazing for all content, done sirus a8 and cortex without dying, delve 250ish, one shot conquerors, no hit shaper, uber elder, its immune to lab traps. And all at lvl 80. Great build

Been playing Akane's BL Miner Scion for 2 leagues now. This looks like a different and faster take for an MOM Scion. I'll be trying this one out for next league if it isn't hit so hard. Good Content !!

I love this build. Testing Lavianga's Spirit mana flask. Seems to work well.
Pretty sure the arcanist brand curse thing ggg said wouldn't work was about using curse on hit, because at least in general you can't use triggers inside other triggers. Curses being cast normally works of course as they are just spells

We're safe boys, they only nerfed AoE (which decently hurts to DPS) and flat damage (not a big deal considering archmage support).
Agnostic untouched, Foreboding flask untouched, Watcher's Eye clarity mod untouched.
Also I'm pretty curious about Sigil of Power skill, seems like good boss DPS boost for archmage (in case you would need even more DPS for some reason) and Pinpoint support.
Btw since Arc cannot be purchased as scion at Act 1, I'd probably gonna try out league starting with Crackling Lance.
i was going to ask, how would this build be with crackling lance versus ball lightning? or is this build mainly for ball lightning and wouldn't work with a channeling skill like crackling lance? also, its says in the patch notes crackling lance wont be available until sever the right hand, which isn't until act 3, so what would you level before that with this build? thanks in advance for any answers you can provide

Actually already got to Act 3 with 2 link stormblast mine + 2 link orb of storms on SSF with this build POB. Obviously using almost no damage passives and only 2-link main spell wasn't the smoothest leveling I've ever had, but it still was surprisingly okay'ish.

Similiarly how the flat damage gem nerf doesnt affect archmage (only 3% less damage), so doesn't the sigil of power, its only 7% more damage on 4 stages; tho the defences are really nice.

They're not perfectly rolled stat wise, but I'm hoping it'll be good enough to still take out content. Not doing anything super juicy, I just want to easily clear T16's and Sirius when he pops :)

just rolled this build last night! holy fuck, its legit. once you get used to flask management and skill management early game like level 40..... everything melts. i had a helmet with an enchant for slower ball lightening wearable at level 55. dude some bosses last less than 2 secs

I've played it both ways and I prefer inquisitor when I have a bottled faith (consistent consecrated ground) and hierophant when I don't. When choosing heirophant it is for the "8% of damage taken from mana before life", not for the max mana.

No, it’s not. The explody is basically only for stopping porcupines and whatever else has a death trigger (lots of Delve stuff).
I missed Delirium so I haven't tried Archmage yet and it's rare I play Scion sadly so I'll probably give this a shot as a league starter next league.

you can build hierophant with arcane surge nodes and mana nodes in ascendency.Its hybrid hp+es.He is more fat,but less damage.

This build gets really good once you get 7+ passive mana flask charges every 3 sec... you have pretty close to 100% flask uptime assuming you keep spamming the flask (and not counting initial 7 sec to get flask effect activated)... the key is to keep spamming the mana flask to keep the flask effect "active"... if you lapse for too long you'll find yourself quickly OOM having to wait another 7 sec for flask effect to activate.

@@xiaoxu8447 It's from the passive "3 flask charges gained each second" in the ascendancy, so it's not related to killing mobs at all.
So I'm trying this build as my league start and I understand that the foreboding eternal mana flask is key. My question is, is the warding part also integral? Or would an "of staunching" work just as well if I rolled warding on another flask?
Awesome guide, this will probably be my league starter (either this or the creeping frost occultist). But I have one question, if you league start with this build, which spell should you level with? You can get Arc in Act 3 as a Scion, but not before that. Sorry, if this is a noob question.

Nice build, i just started trying it out but with a non-crit version and using Supercharged cluster jewel notable and the scion-hierophant asendant :) Is it possible to convert this to at Spark build just by taking the increased effect duration in the passive tree near the scion start, or do u need more change?

I have my old BL miner but this is even better? It's not everyday that you can find something better than mined version...
Your mana management was better than my RF Hierophant with AtzFoible and other mana boosters, had the same flask but it didn't worked that well as your ascendancy.
BL Miner is still probably going to better in terms of boss DPS but as the video shows this build is no light weight in single target and the clear is superb.
Blake Barker I mean I doubt it. That’s with 2ex investment. With 20ex you could probably be better than a miner

@@jetlee88 "Foreboding eternal mana flask" gives 3600 mana "instantly at end of flask effect". From the tree he stacks multiple flask gained and less flask charges used. He has 3 flask charges gained every 3 seconds from Pathfinder. So he just stacks all of this and spam the flask to regain mana

The flask buff stacks with itself infinitely. Each 7 second timer is independent.
The PoB and the video don't mention what skills to level with. I mean you do mention Arc prior to 24 in the notes of the PoB if using the Spellslinger option but I was going with the Archmage option and Arc isn't available to Scion. I'd like to use this as my 3.12 league start so can you please let me know the best leveling skills to use prior to level 38 when we get Unleash? Thanks!
Go to the skills tab in POB and then look in the window labeled Socket Groups and then click on Option 2 to see the leveling skills for Archmage.
@@ILoveMyBGE That shows Ball Lightning, which we don't get until level 28. I'm talking about early leveling, from the start of the game until getting Ball Lightning.
Level 1-40 has been rough, scion would need to mule arc to use that,

You can fix reflect through other means, elementalist isnt't great. Inquisitor provides too much. Pathfinder is required.

Hi there, sorry to ask a stupid question, but in order to get pathfinder, hierophant and path of the ranger, don't we need 10 ascendency points ?
No. The way it works is that you spend your first 2 toward the pathfinder. Spend the next two by spending one on Pathfinder and one on the path to Hierophant. Then spend the next two to get Hierophant. When you complete the Eternal Labyrinth, you can get the path of the Ranger.

What would you say are the pros and cons of this build vs the BV assassin for league start? I did BV assassin earlier in the league and really liked it but this certainly looks interesting too. Looks a good deal more expensive though
I wouldn't say its going to be a ton more expensive to start but may be more expensive to push to endgame depending on how expensive the staff is.

Hey Jet, for bossing you should swap GMP to Slower Projec, it gives you a huge boost on single target dmg.

Hey, fun build but struggling to obtain never ending mana refill. I would like to know what factors contribute to 100% mana refill much how you display in your video? I have the flask, gear, flask nodes, and all ascendencies but have died many a time because I could not fire for a second or two. Mashing the flask button repeatedly did nothing but restart the flask countdown. I may have missed something in the explanation but like I say, not confident to take true end game content until I can solve this mana regen issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, it has been asked but what pantheon major/minors do you recommend? Thanks!
make sure your mana flask has the prefix 'foreboding' it wont work otherwise. try to get an eternal mana flask and just alt spam it, its easy to get.
I tried copying the Build to POB but it says there are errors with it. I checked POB to be sure its updated & it says that it is. I really enjoy your builds, specially your notes as to why you are doing with the tree, skills, etc. Is there something I'm not doing in order to load POB?
