Saw this when it was live and it made me laugh. This guy thought he can use fancy words and his own bias views to try to overpower a woman. He messed with the wrong person. He messed with a person that understands the law. He was schooled in how to debate. We need people like her in the Department of Justice to follow the law and not let politicians rule them. Ted Cruz needs to learn that there are many people in the United States that will fight for our nation. We have many differences and the nation is not perfect at all. The world knows this. Go to Latin american countries and you will learn how the US has interfered with their governments and their economies. However, some of those decisions were made by the federal government not the citizens of this nation. We need to fight for an idea that is America. A place where we can dream and reach our human potential. This is what some of use who came here believed in and have work hard to keep this dreams for others.

Cesar Yoc I'm not a republican, I hate cruz, but she was wrong. She said her concern was a constitutional one, but the constitution protects the rights of the citizens of the usa, not of the 'potential citizens'. That is why you have the INA. The trump ban didn't go against religious freedom, because it was focused on immigrants not on us citizens. So as she also mentioned, the discussion should be if the threats trump claims were enough to invoke the statute cruz cited or if it was an actual violation of the statute sally mentioned. She kept trying to make it a constitutional issue as if every person who wanted to immigrate would have the rights given by the constitution of the usa. No, they don't have those rights, they have the ones of their own country. The discussion had to be made based on the INA and only the INA.
Coltrane, I can just picture you telling Sally Yates that "she was wrong." I imagine it would go down somewhat similar to how it did with Ted Cruz; she would completely dismantle you. I do, however, respect the fact that you hate Ted Cruz and are not a republican, you clearly have some sense.

Because Democrats wont step up in Texas. There is a big hole in leadership in this state that's begging to be filled.
I'm from Texas and I never voted for this flake! What happened to our voting districts is that Tom Delay gerrymandered the districts for the Republican party and they stole democratic seats taking away the ability for democrats to win actually win the big elections like Senate or Governor. The congressional seats are not as overwhelmingly republican but still we have less democrats representing us now. The last Democratic Governor we had was Ann Richards int the early 1990's and our last Democratic Senator was back in 1993. So you can see when the districts were decimated by the republicans. For instance Houston/Harris County was all blue in the 2016 presidential election and so was the Valley(Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen). But, the way they formed the districts some rural areas wield as much power as Houston even though officially Houston has 6,000,000 million people (more like 12 million now). I'm hoping this will be a driving force to open peoples eyes that this shit has got to go!

Isn’t it a court of final jurisdiction that decides what’s constitutional or not?
Answer - federal trial courts and appellate courts are perfectly within the scope of their authority to rule on constitutional issues. (Example: the Muslim ban, which Kennedy and his peers conveniently forgot all afternoon.). Yates = winner Republicans on the panel = SAD!
