Whenever I watch a show I look at the colours, the fabrics, the textures and the cut. I also ask myself: would I be able to sit down in this? In any Jonathan Anderson show, the answer to that question is very often 'No'. That said, I think this is a much better collection than the recent one under his own name. The cute little 'principal boy' dresses in shiny fabrics will look great over trousers and track pants. Lots of A-line shapes, which is one of my favourites, for some lovely short and swingy leather jackets. Interestingly draped baggy trousers and a sort of cropped polo shirt with a long, draped tie wrapped around it were the highlights for me, And finally, the dresses in some fresh and pretty prints on light-as-air gossamer fabrics. Now, if you took out the wires, these would be truly gorgeous and, for a bonus, you would be able to sit down in them as well.
At least not as banal as other brands' shows. Not striking but interesting and some little sign of experimentation. Some interesting things, cute 1960s mini dresses and cool leather pieces.
He's making this house exquisitely trendy. I liked that some pieces are not being imposed onto clients but purely for artistic value. Love it.
