I absolutely LOVED my industrial but I had constant issues with the lower hole. I got infections, keloids a couple of times, and it just....hurt...all the time. And I'm not a newbie to piercings, I was super vigilant with cleaning. I took it out but I still love the look of them. Yours looks awesome. Just gotta keep the headbutting kids away from it!! 😂😂

I have an industrial. The piercing is at a different angle than any other cartilage piercing, and it is thicker (14 gauge) in comparison to your average lobe piercing. Since it is at that angle and thicker, a normal piercing won't work
Because piercings move a little when they heal and the line is not gonna stay straight. So if you put the bar in after it healed you will have issues all over again...

Usually they have a one size fits all in 2 shapes for the healing process. Most of the time, the bar they put in is longer than a normal piece of jewelry for it so it can heal better and have room to breath. Typically they have the standard, or the long one that is for people who have larger ears.

I'm 45 and looking in to finally getting a industrial piercing (I have several others). I don't see why you would be to old? Its YOUR body and YOU have to be happy in it and with it. Go get a piercing or more if you want to. Let the others think what they want to. In the end it doesn't matter what they think. Only your experiences count.
I loved my industrial, but had to remove it after 2 years simply because the top part constantly became irritated. Wearing glasses of any kind was nearly impossible. But they look so cool!
if your knocking it a lot might be worth asking your piercer for ptfe or bioflex bar it’s like a soft plastic which is flexible so cause less trauma to your ear if you do catch it ,they do take about a year to heal fully But it’s worth sticking out x x
I had my industrial done but I was really young and stupid and did it myself! I’m really lucky cuz I could have caused damage! I would never recommend doing it yourself to whoever is reading this comment! It didn’t really take long to heal and never gave me problems for the longest time. But ever since I’ve had kids (and this piercing has been out for 10 years) the holes get irritated and slightly infected from time to time. I’d have to say pain wise tho, my septum hurt the most! But my tongue was the roughest heal time cuz I couldn’t eat right for a week cuz of the swelling. I’ve had a lot of piercings in my life but took all of them out when I got pregnant with my daughter so now I have none lol.
Tongue piercing is one of the least painful. I had mine done ten years ago. Didn't feel it. The week after is worse with a swollen tongue and learning to talk and eat. I took it out after a couple of years though as I kept biting it lol.
Hi Anwen, it looks great! 😀 I have recently got my tragus on one ear and daith on the other. The tragus didn’t hurt to get pierced and has been ok healing, but my daith hurt A LOT to get pierced and has also been ok so far. Still cleaning them with salt water every day. I also got my outer conch done, but had to retire it as i kept getting it knocked when my son hugged me, and i was catching my hair and glasses on the back of it. So unfortunately it had to go :( xox
I had my first and only when I was sixteen in my right ear. Love it, but that was enough for me. Too "hippie" for my parents those days. I tried though. Have a nice weekend with your beautiful family!!
It's a gorgeous piercing. I got my nose done when I was quite young, and they just did it at a Claire's boutique with an ear piercing gun. Didn't hurt me at all. My tongue hurt a little tho, but I still to this day can't put an earring in my top cartilage hole and it not hurt after a bit. I don't know why, it's healed obviously, but still very painful.
I'm getting my daith pierced next Friday. Nervous. It's gonna hurt and take ages to heal. I love your industrial piercing, it looks so good. Does your hair get tangled in it?
Angela Bolingbroke sometimes when my hair is down it can get tangled up in it but I mostly wear my hair up so it’s not too much of a problem - good luck with your daith piercing. My friend just got it done and it wasn’t as bad as she thought, hopefully yours will be the same xx 😘

Did you get any scarring or bumps after getting this done? I have heard about people getting bumps around the piercing... almost keloid scars - raised and bumpy scarring. I want to get my tragus done but I'm a bit nervous about bumps. :( I do have a helix piercing but didn't have issues with it getting scars or bumps but it took a year to heal. It was painful but never got infected thankfully. Your piercing looks amazing on you, Anwen.
RedRosesDead07 yes I did get a keloid lump on the bottom hole which looked really dodgy 🙈 I ended up picking it off and that seemed to sort it out ... it’s not returned anyway ... at least not yet !!
I love your industrial!!! I have 23 piercings - all are above my labret, dirty birds! 😜 My tongue and nose weren't that bad. My worst could have been my rook or faith piercings. None were all too bad, though. I still want more LOL.
It does look awesome! I have got my lobes pierced 3x and then both tragus' done but I want that little piece of cartilage in the middle of my ear done and only bc I have seen some really cool pieces of jewellery to go in there. The whole video, I was thinking... Just change it to 2 diff piercings until it heals but then you mentioned that the guy said it's not good to do. I wonder if by now they've taken their shape and it may be okay to wear 2 diff ones for a few months. I guess it all depends in how painful it still is for you. I'll never forget when my sister had her tongue pierced. It was sooo swollen for a few days, she could hardly speak properly. Then over time, she kept the metal bar in and chipped all of her teeth! So she changed to the soft plastic or rubbery ones after that but was quite an expense to get all her teeth fixed! I remember the dentist telling her it is so common for ppl with tongue piercings to clink/clank it off their teeth as a bad habit....an EXPENSIVE habit when you finally fix them!! So please try not to do that OR use one of those rubbery ones for normal, everyday, around the house so you don't break all your teeth...word from the wise!😀😍

Get yourself some tea tree essential oil. Make a potion with your salt wash with that in it too to wash with daily. That’ll keep it free of irritation and swelling. I’m always making potions with things like that, magnesium salts, witch hazel, msm, aloe vera etc, and have had no problems. Only that some spots over your ear with the cartilage seem to have painful bits, whereas half a mil to the side of it you’ll hardly feel. So it’s just luck if they don’t hurt. Also I’ve had those holes fully heal, after a very long time, when I’ve changed piercings and left it for less than just several hours! 💋
im thinking about getting an industrial on my right ear and a helix on my left ear. but im terrified of the industrial because im 15 lol. or should i get to helixes next to each other instead of an industrial. And another question. how big is the bar?
It just goes to show how different people are, I found my industrial piercing really sore to have done and my tongue one of the least painful. Labret was a close second but industrial, ow!! and I've had lots of piercings done.

I was the complete opposite. When I went back to have a shorter bar fitted he took the original one out and I was without a bar in for about a minute. It felt so weird that I didn't have it in my mouth. How strange is that? I must be more used to having my mouth full (as the actress said to the bishop haha)
Technically its called a hypertrophic scars (hope I spelled that right😂) well rhe main difference between that and a keloid is keloid s dont go away and scars do
I got mine a few months ago my bottom part of it was having a lot of problems and I finally got it on track then my top part of it is having problems now but I love it so I’m gonna stick with it and I 10/10 recommend (only if your somewhat experienced they are kinda difficult piercings)

Does it set off metal detector alarms ? I just pressed on ur video and maybe you say it in the video but I’m not sure and I want to know before hand because I have 1 and my school has walk through detectors and I don’t want it to set off cause I need to hide it or else they make me take it off

Omg I have one too and of all my many piercings that was the most painful and sooo much blood lol!! Mine stills hurts if I leave it out from time to time and put it back and I got mine at 16 and am now 32😣.

TGRAM7 sometimes I can sleep ok on it but other times it will be a bit sore ... it’s really up and down - just when you think it’s healed it just starts to get sore again ahhhh !!! 🙈
i got mine done about 4 days ago and i’ve had pain on and off but it’s really tender to the touch. would not recommend sleeping on it as it can make the piercing bleed in your sleep
TGRAM7 I suggest you shouldn’t sleep on the side of which you have your industrial piercing, it’ll cause unnecessary irritation and possibly bleeding. I tried to do it after I got it pierced, but it feels rather uncomfortable.

I just got my industrial done on tuesday. The lower hole seems like its gonna be a problem hole for me. It stopped hurting for a day or two and then i woke up one morning and i accidentally hit it realllllly hard and it hasnt stopped throbbing since x.x the swelling went down but when i hit it the swelling went right back and hasnt gone away either riprip
I've only got my ears done 3times and my tongue done now i did have my nose and lip done but the lip piercing had to go because my daughter kept pulling it when she was little
That’s so crazy how I’m here because I’m scared of getting this done.. thinking by far this is the most painful . Each video iv searched up had mentioned it’s so painful . And your here saying your tongue ring was more painful for you lol. And that one was the least to me. Lol
Pshhh because they can get caught on things like hair as seen in the video... piercers put in a large bar to accommodate for any initial swelling, but it should be switched to a shorter one after about 16 weeks

I pierced my industrial at home and it's slightly painful (3/10). I used 14g sterile needle not a gun. :) Just fight the temptation of touching it. 😂

i got mine done about 4 days ago and i’ve had pain on and off but it’s really tender to the touch. would not recommend sleeping on it as it can make the piercing bleed in your sleep
TGRAM7 I suggest you shouldn’t sleep on the side of which you have your industrial piercing, it’ll cause unnecessary irritation and possibly bleeding. I tried to do it after I got it pierced, but it feels rather uncomfortable.

I just got my industrial done on tuesday. The lower hole seems like its gonna be a problem hole for me. It stopped hurting for a day or two and then i woke up one morning and i accidentally hit it realllllly hard and it hasnt stopped throbbing since x.x the swelling went down but when i hit it the swelling went right back and hasnt gone away either riprip

I've only got my ears done 3times and my tongue done now i did have my nose and lip done but the lip piercing had to go because my daughter kept pulling it when she was little

That’s so crazy how I’m here because I’m scared of getting this done.. thinking by far this is the most painful . Each video iv searched up had mentioned it’s so painful . And your here saying your tongue ring was more painful for you lol. And that one was the least to me. Lol
I got mine a week and a half ago and every time I bump it really hard it gets numb in my ear starts ringing and I feel nauseous lol

Pshhh because they can get caught on things like hair as seen in the video... piercers put in a large bar to accommodate for any initial swelling, but it should be switched to a shorter one after about 16 weeks
