From what I know the title Darth roughly means Dark Lord, or the shortened version of Dark Lord of The Sith.
That's what I read. I read that Darth is the Sith language word for Lord. So basically Darth Vader was just Lord Vader in Basic
@@DarthKieduss Some people aren't aware the Sith were originally a race of people. A red-skinned humanoid species that originated on the planet of Korriban. The Sith were enslaved and ruled by the Dark Jedi who established the Sith Order.
Darth means conqourer of death in lore
in the language the jedi spoke in before the sith split off from their ranks, the word darth means lord which is why its darth and lord are interchangeable in the movies
Darth Vader means dark father in German
@@JasonHolody76 That would be Dunkler Vater. Maybe youre thinking of Dutch.
Mash that subscribe button. I especially loved the analysis of Count Dooku.
I remember in the bane storyline that he believed that the title was a challenge to other sith and the enemies of that sith lord
Yeah initially it had to be his name. Both when Obi-Wan confronts him and when talking to Luke about his father the way he talks Darth is meant to be a name and not a title.
"A young Jedi named Darth Vader", "Only a master of evil Darth". They obviously try to connect this in the Obi-Wan series when he calls Anakin "Darth" before leaving him. Later it was made into an actual title. Since the movies all take place when the rule of 2 was a thing both master and apprentice usually have the Darth title but it the eras before it was a title given to the highest ranking Sith
Before I watch this I always went with the rakata darr-tah translation of triumph or conquest of death being the origin of the title of darth.
Nice compilation of lore 👍
So you're saying that Darth Vader was an example of it being his first name but everybody else that had it was a title? AI does not make good stories.
Hes Luke's father? Omg spoiler!
Someone has been living under a rock for almost 45 years
Vader wasn't intended to be Luke's father, Leia wasn't originally intended to be his sister, and Obi-Wan was originally going to live through the whole series. This video is utter nonsense.
gorge Lucas confirmed that they weren't going to be related when doing the first draft and then he decided to make Vader, Leia and Luke related when he was doing the final draft of a new hope's script when revising the 2nd draft of empire strikes back. not a lot of people realize Gorge Lucus did all the scripts for his movies back-to-back which is why they feel like they have a strong continuity to them
@@fangslore9988 not even Lucasfilm seems aware of that which is why they bungled a whole trilogy 😂 Did Lucas not say that to KK?
