Interesting - I always cut all the way through in this exercise rather than aim to the center or middle guard; in other words, cut number one is right oberhau to left wechsel, cut two is left unterhau all the way up to right einhorn and so on. I will try it this way as well, see how it changes the flow of things. Thanks for sharing!
mindhost - The square can be done with either full cuts as you describe or half cuts as seen here, each method definitely has it's own advantages. Also try mixing it up with thrusts between cuts as well! Per Magnus Haaland - It's a really good exercise for the four quarters of the half-shield guard when the defending partner is fencing with a buckler.
We have vectorialized the meyer's square picture and made a print from a local print service. Simple and cost effective!
We've made that into a pair drill. I'll put it out here one of these days. :)
