You've mastered the brown sound. Brilliant skills I actually like your flanger because it's a unique yet still great sounding alteration of the track. I picture stage lights shutting off and lasers sweeping the audience on cue every time you stomp on that flanger.
The settings are just off. Not weird persay, but since it's not like EVH's on the record, yes, it is weirder than the effect itself is. ie, if it was used for something original [a song he wrote] it wouldn't be so weird. That said, it's almost a phase-y flange with the settings he is using.
I wish I had your left thumb. How do you throw your thumb over the top of the neck and still play that cleanly on the upper strings? I can't do that. Wish I could.
