Some teams with playoff and contedning aspirations have gotten off so slow starts so I thought I'd say how concerned I am with each in terms of making the playoffs and meeting expectations
As a Oilers fan, the effort was better recently and they earned a hard fought win over the Flyers but the PK needs some serious work. It’s been a train wreck after a phenomenal performance in the playoffs last year
As a wings fan I’d be surprised if we made the playoffs. I’m not convinced this team is better than last year and last year multiple teams in the East missed who will be in or a lot closer to in the playoffs. I’ll consider this season a win as long as these conditions are met: At the NHL level: - Edvinsson becomes a legit top 4 D - Raymond and Seider make progress from last year - Johansson stays in the lineup and looks good for 50+ games Prospects level: Cossa dominates AHL ASP builds off of last year and is ready to come to NA next year Danielson adjusts to the pro game and looks good in AHL Kasper continues to dominate AHL and gets some NHL looks Honestly as long as the key pieces in the rebuild continue to grow that’s all that really matters. To be quite honest it wouldn’t hurt to get another top 10 pick to use on pure offensive ceiling and upside after taking many safe and well rounded prospects
@@MikeBartner it is and I feel like Petterson has been off since playoffs. He’s getting star money but seems to lack the killer instinct that mcD and Natedogg and players making similar $$ I know he’s got that star power I just wish he would snap out of it.
Seeing the Avs games I think that the team is kind of dont giving that much effort, probably because off the goalies situation, but almost everyone is playing really bad, 0 effort
They have a great top pairing with one of the best defenseman in the world, an elite 1 and 2 C combo a 30-40 goal scorer and an elite goalie (who is injured) I think Vancouver is legit
Canucks are the most overrated team in the NHL. They have one big year and all of a sudden they are perennial contenders? They overacheived and will finish below Seattle this year.
I would not be worried with the Oilers, Canucks and the Avalanche right now
Nashville I wouldn’t be worried at all as well
Canucks is only one where if Demko has setbacks it could get dicey
I personally don’t worry at all as an Oilers fan, they started last year like this. Last game, we were on a good game
Fair
I think when he adapts to nashville’s game style Stammer is gonna shock us

I don’t understand why Jared Bednar keeps starting Georgiev, I get that he can turn it around but give Annunen a chance
Unfortunately, my family has Avs season tickets. We’re suffering from success. I’m going tonight and hopefully we somehow pull off a win
Gotta scrape out some wins till your healthy

Valid the goaltending is scart

Oilers contender gimmick in the year 2024 is getting old
How is it a “gimmick” when they just made the final and objectively improved in the off season
Ive felt this was for a while now, Demko is the ben bishop of our generation
0.87 PDO with the oilers im not worried at all
Saros is cheeks rn
Fr but he'll turn it around

Won't go that far but I agree overhyped
