      You got that right Dave, I have one of Mr mark’s knives and they are freaking awesome. The quality is the best I’ve seen hands down the best version of the LS1 you can find. I was completely blown away by how well done this blade is and I am so blessed to have it in my collection. Stay strong my blade brother

    Have you considered using brass or bronze for the pommel both of those metals aren't ferrous and they won't rust, but they will corrode. The compass won't interact with the bronze.

      I'm considering aluminium to make the part lighter. Stainless steel and brass are both very heavy metals.

    you could easily increase the strength significantly by adding another half inch or full inch to the tang at basically no real loss of time or effort.

      @@marktecher3085only problem with titanium is that it’s more difficult to machine. From what I’ve seen it tends to throw a massive amount of sparks and can dull bits quickly unless it’s cooled down with dry ice or something first. If I had the choice between aluminum or stainless as a customer, I’d take the stainless despite the weight. I’ve always hated aluminum
