- It's finally here! The long-awaited hypercar that you didn't think existed, the Devel Sixteen. This first production car has a custom made v8, with room for the full V16 in the next production car. Alex takes you through the progress made since we last saw this car four years ago… The interior, the coolest features and a drive on the Dubai Autodrome track. Thing is this isn't a drag car. So actually having a useable car even for a track with that kind of power and also the ability to even do a 15 minute session without needing a 300l truck fuel tank.

The engine was “custom made for this car” lady it’s a C8 Corvette LT2 engine with a turbo. Sure it’s got forged internals but it’s basically just a C8 with a body kit.

So basically, this isn't the Devel 16, this is just a really good kit car based on the corvette C8, and it has a really good twin turbo modified version of the chevy LT2 V8 engine.

this devel sixteen and the one from the first generation, I have known it for a very long time, it is the rarest existing hypercar, until now only prototypes were made with this model and it had neither this interior nor exterior mirrors, now that it is an official car and which looks absolutely incredibly good, I can say that the project deserved to be officially launched!!

To be fair we have every reason to not believe in this 5000hp Concept“Devel 16” but it’s still a Nice looking “Devel 8” (seeing as that’s the amount of Cylinders it actually has), Imagine if Dodge had put Demon Badges all over a Base Model Dodge Charger and sold it to people for an Absurd Price.

I have a really hard time believing the famous Devel "16" would sell its first production model with a V8 because the buyer can't get a V16 into their market. Sounds like the "V16" is still not ready and they needed a cash grab so they sold an overpriced twin-turbo C8
This guy is the one who had the burj khalifa thing or whatever made, a dumb stupid glads and steel building that has no sewage system, and is horribly inefficient in space, expecting him to have a 5000hp car thats anything more than a corvette really isnt a big shocker to me and should be to everyone else

To me it still doesn't look finished. Even at 2000 hp the thing doesn't seems to have any aero or vents. Look at any hypercar on the market and they are covered in angles, wings, canards and intakes to keep them on the ground and running cool. This seems to have none of that which makes me very suspicious of this project. And a Corvette interior?
5000 horsepower just way to much anyway…. Hard to tame, almost impossible to get reliability out of unless you have twice as big of a motor so big it wouldn’t make any sense. 3000 horse power is awesome and still crazy to think about. Very impressed by the styling of this new prototype. I LOVE IT.

To be fair, many supercars and hypercars even on top tiers and manufacturers borrow parts from regular sports cars anyway and it doesn't look bad at all. Does anyone remember how the prototype of this car used to look like? It was hideous.
What really disapoints me about this car is the top speed it gets with twice the power of a veyron. Most compustion powered hypercars will hit 500kmh with less than 2000hp.

The fact that this thing has a C8 corvette interior is actually quite hilarious! I work at a Chevrolet dealership and I see these c8 corvettes quite often so just seeing this interior in the devel 16 is honestly quite amusing to me, never thought that GM would approve something this insane!!! Lol
To be fair don't really get how no one is calling it a c8 kit car .... C8 interior.... mid rear engine platform.... with even the 3 horn blow after closing the door when the keys are in the cabin with the car running did it for me 😂😂
what I find funny about this fact is they've spent what must be billions promising a car that still doesn't exist all there is is a v8. Also all these supposed car experts, designers have had 9 years since the prototype and in those 9 years not one of them could even come up with a design for the interior.😂

Ofcourse it is. The WHOLE CAR is a Corvette C8. This is not a "concept car", or a development vehicle. This is just a body shell built on top of a chopped down Corvette. Its running a Corvette engine and all.
Supercar BLondie does these videos some times. She lives in Arabia and she does these SCAM videos for 15-20 000 dollars a pop. Last year she was so excited to announce she had "Bought her first hypercar". Which also turned out to be another Arab Corvette with a body kit. I mean this is like her third or fourth time doing this.
If this was ACTUALLY a real car, then it would be all over the international motor press. Which it is not. Because its a scam.

I've been waiting for this moment... At first, I saw those videos which said this car was a scam... And then I played with it on CSR2 and saw how it was and said: "This is pretty different to the one that I saw on those videos saying it was just a concept car"... But now, now I see it as it was in-game... That inside, that design... This is the one I've been looking for... Not the concept car that they showed me long time ago, but this one here... Is the Devel Sixteen... Truly beautiful

Its actually a lot more than that, you can see on instagram the only thing from corvette is interior. This car impressivly has a whole different custom chasis and double wishbone suspension.
@@stompingjacklope2217 actually if you do a close comparison between the two chassis with the images they provided on their instagram, you can see that almost all of it, excluding the subframes roof elements, has been retained. It really is a c8 with new subframes and body. There’s a reason the parts come from the US.

5000hp is basically impossible in a road car, if professional drag racing teams cant do it, then how do you expect some random no name company to do so reliably. Drag engines usually only last around 30 seconds before needing a full rebuild.

Ah yes, the Drivel 16 is real, we have one of them, like we did some years ago when it was first annouced, only that car was an early concept and they couldn't show you what it could do, like this one, coincidentally. But it's definitely real, see she sat in it, it runs and moves, so soon now it'll be a 5000 hp V16 hypercar, sorry 3000 hp V16 hypercar, not like before when nothing much eventuated, because this time, this one is real, really..... definitely not a dressed up Corvette.

So they promised the 1st car was going to have the 5000 hp. Now maybe car 3. And why would you spec the car with all the 16's everywhere when you opted for the V8? Then you make this "ground breaking" multi million dollar car and slap a interior from a 60k vette? Maybe in another 4 years we'll see it in its glory and get a proper review with full 0-60 times (and others) and a proper track drive. Parade laps don't count

Fun fact: this is not the real Devel 16 with the claimed v16 with 5000 hp. It's a kit car based on a c8 corvette using an LS2 V8 engine with forced induction
I was looking forward to this car and even saw it in person at the Petersen museum but I am so disappointed that they didn’t developed the car from the ground up and decided to go with C8 power train, interior, key fob, an even the horn alert when you leave the key fob inside the car and close the doors, a feature that is have been on Corvettes since 2005. It is a cool car and a proven platform but not for millions they’re gonna ask for it. It is unique but For the same money I wait for the C8 ZR1 or the C8 Zora and still have money to travel to every cool track in the world and race it.
So it’s a C8 with a tacky body kit.
At least this interior finish looks better than the earlier prototype she drove a few years ago.

Good catch, those are the iron rotors used in the base C8 Corvette. Not much for stopping a 5,000 lb car.

The base model was supposed to have the V8 with 2000hp, the middle spec would have a 3000hp V16 and the top spec “track only” version would have the 5007hp V16. It seems the first two versions are built but the 5007hp version will probably never see the light of day

You'd really hope for something like this to be something real but it feels more and more like its quite the intangible car that was promised way back when.
She's driving the same car (obviously not the EXACT same car) 3 years later and we still only see road legal speeds on a race track. Clearly there is no full throttle or close to it because if it was you'd be able to tell by her reaction to something that has meant to have I'd guess over 2000hp.
Its sad but it feels like this a more a video that's been paid for by the company to try and regain interest in it. The interior already looks dated and is lifted from a Corvette... nothing against the Corvette but that isn't a car anywhere near where this was meant to be on its original promise.
Yeah why they don't just show us any video about its performance ,or they can hire a race driver to test this on race track at least?

@@Faazuu It probably handles horribly at higher speeds. 5k pounds is not something you can chuck around corners very easily. This car was designed to flex on people, it looks pretty and maybe goes fast in a straight with 2k horsepower, but it was not built to be a racecar. This looks and feels more like they designed a body and then worked backwards to fit all the mechanical components.
Well just to argue about goin slow in it. If it’s such a rare car and already sold i wouldn’t want anyone driving in it fast on a racetrack.

actually the 1991 Cizeta Moroder V16T was the very first car to have a V16 engine and it was the only car to have a V16 engine until the Devel was released to have one

From the key to the interior reminds of a c8 corvette they they copied pretty much a c8 just different body.

Steve Morris developed the V16 specific to this car, more than 6 years ago. They ran it to 4500hp at that time...
He never built it for this car, he already built a v16 all he done was cnc some rockers to say devel16 on them and made a deal to produce more v16 engines for them when they asked, they've never asked and the original v16 engine has never been fitted to a car its still in a crate to this day. Steve offered to build another one for anyone with the cash but wants closer to 700k an engine as the crank and camshaft are particularly hard to make as they require another thrust bearing roughly in the middle of them.
I'll be unbiased here. I'm glad the car exists. The V8 with 2000hp makes sense since we have a ton of tuner companies who make upto 3000hp from cross plane V8s so the knowledge is there.
What I'm interested in is the V16 for obvious reasons. And to be honest even 4500hp with quad turbos is very possible but let's see what goes. Though I should think the 400km/h for the V8 is limited because the power to weight ratio is better than a Chiron. Maybe CoD isn't.
Last is the interior. It's kinda sad it is lifted from the C8 Vette but if it serves to reach production in a cheaper and quicker way then so be it. At least they didn't just slap it, add their own badges and call it a day.

with the 2000hp tune the best you're going to get with it is 1000-2000 miles without it breaking down and needing maintenance

This engine is nothing to do with Steve Morris and he only ever created one billet v16 for drag racing, it was surplus to requirements so he was payed by this lot to cnc a few rocker covers with devel16 wrote on them. Two of his former colleagues exposed the entire thing.
