It seems like dry or dead plants, as well as certain plants either don't conduct much, or not enough to form a large arc. The plants have to touch the boom to begin arcing at all, it's not arcing through the air initially. I am working on a longer video explaining how it works and how we're using it on the farm in the coming days, watch for it if you're interested.
