For some reason when I add the background, it makes my video a lot lighter. Not sure how to fix that.

I've been working with Camtasia for about a year and a half. I'm wondering why this is "only available in 2021"? The media matte and the quick properties editor look new (unless I've never noticed the latter) but I'm able to apply custom animations to shapes and text on 2020. Just curious. I've got the 2021 upgrade in my cart and interested in the new features.

This particular instance, the only differences are the ones you’ve noted. You for sure can do similar effects in Camtasia 2020, but would miss out on the conceal/reveal of the media matte. Though 2020 came with track mattes, they were much less user-friendly and the team has since updated them for drag-and-drop ease. :) Hope that clears it up!

      @@techsmith Yeah for sure. Thanks!

@@avo3ad0 Here's a video Troy did last year for using Track Mattes in Camtasia 2020. This effect would give you the same results, again, just in a less user-friendly way.

I came here to watch the tutorials for this software thinking it would be best in comparison to random channels explaining it. However, the explanation is too fast for a beginner and I had to go to others to learn the tips you were showing so fast. This makes these videos not a #1 go to for me when it comes to Camtasia tutorials.

This was made by one of the Camtasia team leads, not our Instructional Designers (tutorial team). Our actual tutorials can be found on our website, or here on TH-cam in this playlist: th-cam.com/video/ymFTGaNel0I/w-d-xo.html

Sorry but camtasia is just for the beginner level. Professional video editor never use camtasia. So when is camtasia more professional features with easy using?

Depends on which "professionals" you're referring to. Most tutorial creation is done on Camtasia, whereas we are not a broadcast or feature film solution. But if you are looking to record your screen and create training, tutorials and instructional design, you'd be better served by our all-in-one tool than jumping between software.

I disagree. I have used Camtasia for 15 years and I stick with it because it is powerful and easy to use.
