I believe that God has a special relationship with the mentally disabled. I work with mentally challenged people. I remember one client who was considered to be profoundly mentality disabled. I was allowed to take her to church. She would sing and pray in her own language. She would listen quietly to the sermons. People said that she could not understand. But when I took her to a living Nativity, she fell to her knees in front of the baby playing baby Jesus. She seem to understand that you bow down and worship Jesus, when you meet Him. I have given her no instructions. She just knew what to do. I thinks she understands very well.✝️✝️
My son really likes Jesus as he understands him. He has intellectual disability, autism level 3, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. He functions at somewhere between 1 1/2 to 3 years old. He cannot fathom that Jesus died on the cross anymore than he knows that Mufasa died in the gorge to save Simba, or Gandalf died to save the others from the Balrog. That being said... I also work as a caregiver for the mentally disabled and I have yet to meet one who doesnt like Jesus the person... at least in the same way that they like Ana, and Elsa and HATE prince Hans from frozen. I think their accountability is different when it comes to self control. A person with cognitive delays doesnt understand personal space for example or personal possessions... so how can they be held accountable for "stealing" a staff's drink when they dont understand that it isnt theirs? Behaviors are another issue. Sure they are taught not to hit because it isnt nice and it hurts their staff... but the cognitively delayed function on an instinctive level and lack proper coping skills for fear or pain.

@@Apologia5 I guess only God knows her heart and mind. But I don't think we should judge children or mentally disabled people as not able to believe and not able to honour God. We just don't always know what they understand and believe and how early. It's not like our understanding of God is perfect yet either.

Apologia5, why do you attack what someone else posts as a comment. And it is an attack. You work out your salvation and repent of this now. How did Jesus react when the children want to come to Him? How did Jesus heal all who came to Him? What does scripture say about....? There are a lot of specific things that are not said in Scripture. Unlike the Tax Code of the USA, which has more loopholes for the wealthy than I can think of...why do you think we are so in debt? We lost four babies before they were born (three early miscarriages and one born sleeping). Thank you for taking this from a biblical standpoint and not just offer empty fluffy words. Biblical truth is healing and I cried more than once during this teaching. Just hearing how much God loves children and knowing I will see my children again. “Our babies knew only love. The love of a mothers womb to the love of the saviors arms.”

Lydie Nešto yes that’s day will be a true blessing! I can imagine the first thing they saw was Jesus.. can you imagine going through into his glory? What a sight. Who else could care for them better then him? It was not always easy but I can’t even imagine the pain I would have felt if I didn’t KNOW how much God loved me and I knew he was with me through the pain. The anger. The resentment. I always knew they were in heaven. Never did I ever think any differently. If I love my children as much as I do I can’t even imagine the amount of love God has for US.. his children. Im so thankful to God for blessing me with also two earthly babies that are here with me. 3 and 1. True blessings. Everything to me. God is always good even when things are horribly hard.
When I was an atheist I aborted my son...😭😭😭. I never gave him a name. I think God will name him personally. I want to be able to see him and say to him that I'm sorry and love him forever with God at our side.
My grandson was killed in a car accident 13 months ago at age 17. It was so comforting that his Bible was found in his backpack. I realize your teaching is for infants and young children but lose is lose and pain is lessened knowing he was right with God.
My son died at 3 days old. It was the most indescribably painful thing for me and I wrestled so hard with whether he was definitely in heaven or possibly not. This brought me so much comfort and joy. Thank you, Mike! You have impacted my life in many ways.

I like that comment "He delivered them into His presence, even though they may have suffered beforehand". We tend to have such a temporal view of what is best for our children, and yet what could be better than being in God's magnificent presence? That's comforting.
Mike, I can’t thank you enough for creating this video. My husband and I lost our baby at ten weeks gestation 12 years ago and I haven’t fallen pregnant again. I had always believed that we will be with our baby in the Kingdom one day and based that on my understanding of the character of the Father and Christ. The way you gently approached this topic is so beautiful and the passages of scripture you referenced in context are so helpful in providing a firm foundation for that hope that I have. Thank you for the diligence and time you have taken to bless parents like us who wait for the Kingdom to be reunited with our children. It truly means more than you can know. God bless brother. The bible gives us hope because under God's government all the dead will be resurrected back on earth. Acts 24:15 And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. So that these too can enjoy life without the need to die. Psalm 37:29 The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.
@@judylloyd7901 : Matthew 25:41 is about our day. They who get destroyed in the coming war of change are destroyed forever. That is an everlasting punishment. There will be no resurrections for them. (John 5:28, 29) Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the MEMORIAL TOMBS will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. Everlasting punishment and a resurrection of judgement are two different things. A judgement is given ONLY AFTER THE EVIDENCE IS HEARD. Acts 24:15 promises a resurrection of BOTH the righteous and the unrighteous. The unrighteous get a resurrection of JUDGEMENT. Which means that unless they CHANGE and live according to God's laws in the New earth, they will be JUDGED UNSUITABLE for everlasting life. Remember that a death erases all sin (Romans 6:7,23). Thus, the unrighteous get a NEW OPPORTUNITY to qualify for everlasting life in the New Earth. There is no sense in God using his holy spirit to bring dead persons back to life, only to tell them that they have no right to live. Even people like Abraham, Moses, David and others will be resurrected, and they will have to learn about Jesus and his sacrifice. Then, exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus in order to inherit everlasting life. (John 3:16) “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that EVERYONE EXERCISING FAITH IN HIM (ie Jesus) might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. Many make the mistake of thinking that a resurrection of judgement is destruction or even worse, some torture. I trust this helps.
The innocence of babies is clearest to me in Jeremiah 19:4 "have filled this place with the blood of innocents" and "to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal."
But I could be called innocent in a certain circumstance without being innocent in all ways. Like I can say I have never stolen my mothers book so I shouldn't be punished for that but it doesn't mean I am innocent in every way
thank you so much, mike, for talking about 2 samuel 12: 23! i miscarried a baby when i was 21. i was not saved at the time and was in a position where a decision about that child's life would have been pressured upon me. i have always been grateful for the fact that i was spared having to make that decision. it was not until i was in honduras on a missionary trip 37 years later that one of my teammates brought me the realization that that child is in heaven waiting on me! needless to say, i melted into tears! i never did have another child...i am now just days shy of turning 65 so as the days pass i do think about that child more often but the grief i once had is now joy to know it won't be so long till i am with my child! i am thrilled that you pointed out that verse...i have read it many times but the illumination was never on it for me...till now! praise God! i listen to a lot of your stuff and encourage you to keep doing what you are doing...i pray the Lord will touch many souls thru this ministry!

Dr. Jack Hayford wrote a book titled “I’ll hold you in heaven.“ It addresses miscarriage, death of infants and abortion from a biblical perspective. It’s very inexpensive and comforting for women who have experienced miscarriage.
I've experienced the loss of a brother, he was a stillbirth and I was only 7 years of age. I went into the Hall to mourn as I now understood what death was and saw a figure holding the deceased infant I left in the room with my mother, felt calmed then blinked and the figure was gone. It was an awesome experience. I've only recently found your channel but love the content and it speaks to me in ways conventional pastors fail to do, primarily because of their focus on sounding good or making their congregation feel good, blunt truth is highly appreciated.

I realized I haven't thought about it in years, but I remember growing up that my mom said she had 2 miscarriages before my sister and I were born...I guess I didn't know what to think about it back then, and just hadn't thought about it in years because my mom never brings it up, but I was reminded about it while watching this video and I asked my dad about it since I was afraid asking my mom would make her very sad...My dad told me she miscarried 2 boys, which I didn't know. I don't know why I always assumed they were girls since my sister and I are girls! But to think, for the first time, that I have 2 brothers that I'll really see one day is very special to me! I've always told people I don't have any brothers....I'm so happy I was wrong. ❤️

Each of my grandmothers had multiple miscarriages before my parents and their surviving siblings were born. One of the many things I look forward to in Heaven is meeting my miscarried aunts/uncles on both sides of my family.

I was 4 years old when I received Christ as my Savior. Someone once told me I was too young and couldn’t have been saved at that age because I had not reached the “age of accountability.” But I know differently! Jesus said, “Let the children come unto me....” Here I am, still-belonging to Him!

Absolutely! He loves to let the little children come to Him. He would not hinder them. But for other children who do not have that experience, it is heartening to know that there is a biblical case for them being in the Father's arms. My husband was saved at a young age as well, around 4 or 5, but to know we will see the child we miscarried again one day is a great comfort. Thank You, Jesus!

Please look into Summit Ministries from Colorado. My 16 yr old son went to one of there two week programs and he was “born again” from the experience. It’s for 16-24 year olds. Summit did what confirmation was unable to do.
Yes! Clearly Paul is talking about purposes of intimate fellowship. Elsewhere he says don't be yoked to unbelievers, which is a warning to those not married yet. But after the marriage, you must stay with the unbeliever...because God sets him/her apart for the sake of the believing spouse. And the same with the kids.

Also, the very next verse always got me after David said "I will go to him", says, "And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son..." Lately I have been reading my Bible as my infant and 3 year old fall asleep and have been praying about this very topic after my son asked me who God is and I realized the whole concept of God is beyond his understanding if Jesus can't just hang out in the flesh with him.. Hi Mr. Winger, I've been watching your videos for some time now and have been very blessed by them! Thank you :). Granted, I haven't done my own personal in-depth study on the matter, but Romans 5:13 came to mind during the video which seems consistent with your findings: that there exists the nuance of having sin, yet not having it rendered to your account on the basis of ignorance. haha and typing out "ignorance" just now, I'm reminded of yet another verse in Acts 17:30 of God passing over offenses on account of ignorance. I know there's a contextual point being made in each of those passages, but at least it seems the concept of God's overlooking being tied to ignorance is present.
My baby died at four months of age and I have always believed I will see her in heaven. I think this teaching is fantastic though, Mike, because you would not believe the ludicrous things fellow believers say to grieving parents. I agree that we need head knowledge of scripture in these instances as well as the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Thanks so much for having the courage to address these difficult topics head on!
So sorry for your loss. I too have heard rediculous things about my son from the church. He is mentally disabled with seizures and many, especially of the older generation believed him to be possessed by satan which is absurd. He has a genetic issue... which means God made him this way since before he was even born. Rediculous the things people say. I know our children have places in heaven. Jesus said let them come to me.
Superbly researched and presented!!! Thank you so much, Pastor Mike. This is invaluable for so many parents, who I can only imagine how badly they might have suffered from loosing a child. Besides, it is useful for apologetics, as one of the questions I often hear atheists ask is: "What happens with people who have never heard the gospel, including, but not limited to, infants/babies?", and they usually argue that God can't be just and righteous, as babies are not saved. Further, as you mentioned, it gives at least a little comfort, if possible, when thinking of babies or young children who had to suffer to death or were killed. When discussing these things in the light of the problem of evil with atheists, I tend to say that often God prevents worse things from happening and usually has a bigger plan, which we don't see, no matter how much we might struggle to recognise this, as what's happening in the moment is so bad and evil. What you explained here, definitely adds to this view, as we have reason to believe from your quoted Bible passages, that once their earthly suffering has ended, at least these children found their place in God's Kingdom and are likely going to be part of the New Heaven and New Earth. Thank you so, so much for this eye opening lesson! May the Lord continue to bless you with wisdom, discernment, and energy for your dedicated service to likewise believers and unbelievers (hopefully lots of them future believers)! With respect. Not sure that this guy has done any research in the Bible. Everyone who dies ceases to exist (Genesis 3:19). That is why God purposed RESURRECTIONS for the dead (Acts 24:15). This, to give dead ones a NEW OPPORTUNITY to qualify for everlasting life on earth (Psalms 37:29, Matthew 5:5). Babies who die will also be resurrected. There will be survivors around on earth to look after these (Revelation 7:9,10,14). Hope this is helpful.

Another passage you could have quoted from (in relation to babies not knowing or doing good and evil) is from Romans 9:9-11 (when it talks about Jacob and Esau): "For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)"

What's really comforting to me is that the Bible says, "are they (angels) not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?" Hebrews 1:14 NKJV. Since salvation is Yashua (Jesus) who is in heaven as these scriptures indicate: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalms 27:1 NKJV "The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. Psalms 118:14 NKJV "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah , the Lord , is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ ” Isaiah 12:2 NKJV, there is no need to send guardian angels to protect these innocent babies in the world anymore who are already in the presence of Yashua or YAH (Jesus ) who is in heaven seated at the right hand throne of the Father. The fact that we are living in this body for as long as we lived on this earth (for some of us longer...lol.) we have angels sent to serve us because we believe and by the grace of God work out our salvation with fear and trembling, and "if indeed we continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which we heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister." Colossians 1:23 NKJV Now, I speak in human terms, because God knows the ending from the beginning as far as who will inherit salvation from eternity which blows my mind cause He works outside of time. One thing's for sure, the Father knew these innocent precious babies before they were born which is really Marvelous!!! "My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them." Psalms 139:15-16 NKJV
Thank you so much, Mike. I’d come up with the same conclusions you make using the same Scripural logic. I call it the Principle of Culpability as opposed to Age of Accountability. It’s nice to hear someone else make the same argument.
Thank you Mike. Your multiple uses of scripture helps me support my positions. As a young person I was taught these very things, but figuring it out as an adult is a huge research work. Your work is helping me and makes me inspired to go back to the scripture. I remember my understanding now that I have always understood that God is not a rapist. He doesn’t force his mercy on anyone. And his grace is a broad as possible. Babies haven’t rejected Him therefore they go to heaven. I believe the only persons who will go to hell are those who rejected God.

Thank you so much for this Mike, I love the way you break it all down and speak so much sense with so much clarity in all the subjects you teach on. I do however have 2 related enquiries in the light of what you have taught here, which I have to say I cannot fault. 1) We have an awful problem in this world with abortion on demand. Women feel justified in aborting babies for any reason whatsoever. My fear is that some mothers may believe that if all babies (including those in the womb) go to heaven they are actually sparing those babies from the distress of life on earth (as well as the possibility they may end up in a lost eternity) to justify ending their babies lives in the womb. In some perverse way they may believe they are actually doing their offspring a favour. This may sound like an odd thing to say but I have no doubt that people's minds go there. 2) If children up until the 'stage of accountability' are not morally responsible for their actions be it good or bad and are beyond the judgement of God how can parents justify punishing their children for their wrong doing as instructed by scripture ' spare not the rod ' and other scriptures dealing with family discipline ? Why is it okay for us to punish our children below the stage of moral accountability when it appears that God Himself does not hold them accountable ? I ask those questions in humility simply because they came up in my mind, and not because I am trying to find fault. I am sure you have thought of those too and I would love to hear your reasoning. For the second one I suspect it would be to with the very act of parenting and training children up until they hopefully grasp morality for themselves but still I would like to see the argument set out .
It's not up to parents to decide if their children live or not. If God allows some to be miscarried or stillborn, that's his choice because he gave them life. It's still evil to rob our children of the potential of life. Arborted children might be spared suffering (aside from suffering the abortion itself) but they are also unable to experience any joy either. And they are unable to bless or serve anyone else during their lives...
I was always raised being told there is an age of accountability so all babies and young children go to heaven, now having lost a baby all the questions and what ifs and doubts come in. Im excited to listen to this, but it will probably take a few days to get through. I appreciate you taking on hard topics biblically. Mike thanks for your study and your input in this matter. I always appreciate your insights and opinions on different issues. I may not always agree with everything you say, but I can trust that you will deal with it respectfully, responsibly and, more importantly, always trying to honor God to the best of your abilities. Appreciate you brother. As a foreword, to avoid unnecessary accusations/assumptions: I tend agree with Mike on this issue! I believe babies and children go to heaven! I am not 100% convinced and sure, but I believe it to be the case. Also, I want to keep explanations down a bit, while still trying to give some information (maybe for others and perhaps for you too to see where I stand theologically). The question I have for you, which is just pondering upon the theological implications of our viewpoint: if children go to heaven at what point are they no longer covered by the blood of Jesus' sacrifice? And my focus is not necessarily the age of accountability as much as the fact that they are no longer covered by Grace if they continue to live. Granted you indirectly answered part of the question when you stated what condemns someone. However, John 3:18 would suggest that perhaps unbelief (in Jesus) is what really condemns someone. Secondly, we are looking at what _saves_ someone. Which I think we can agree is Christ and His works, nothing on our account apart from belief, that it is through Him and by Him we are saved. So the implications would be twofold: what saves them and how can they be unsaved? If it's not by faith are babies and children under a different covenant? Hopefully, I've explained myself well enough for you to get my point lol.
I have worked with people with LD for many years . I am encouraged that the bible Support’s what I have always believed! Of course God judges us but only in so far as we have capacity to understand , i know I will see people in heaven I have cared for hear
There are so many misunderstandings we have about God...about theological issues that really boil down to the basic issue of whether or not a person believes God is good. This topic is definitely one of those issues. Not believing that God is good distorts SO MUCH of our thinking. More than we realize.

Someone once asked David Pawson that would shes son who had died as an infant be in heaven. David answered "i have had find any text talking infants go to heaven in my bible. But God that i know -i wouldn't be worried." So Mr. Pawson said what you Mike said as a short answer on starting of this teaching. Be blessed brothers and sisters in Christ!
It also utterly defeats the Word of Faith /NAR Sozo/ "freedom" groups idea of going back mentally to a point before birth to get rid of evil influences and/or offenses from pre-birth and infancy

There really is no issue if at least one of the parents is saved. The question remains however if neither parent is saved. I think Mike Winger watered down 1 Cor 7. But unlike the OSAS doctrine which the bible refutes clearly and repeatedly, a coherant biblical argument can be made on both sides of the "do all babies go to heaven" topic. But one should not use "God wouldn't" arguments because 1 Sam 15:3 obliterates it.
About Rom 8:21, as I ponder over what you said about children suffering the effects caused by sinful parents, do you think Paul is saying that the creation will be free from bondage to sinful humanity ("bondage to corruption)? Great discussion by the way 😄
For me, because Christ instructed us that we must be like children to enter the kingdom of God and said, (“Let the children come to me” Mark 10:14-15) I feel God has a plan established for the innocents. Whether it be infants who die in the womb, live children who die, at whatever age or children/adults who are intellectually challenged. God is perfectly just and perfectly merciful. God is love. How can they not be with Him?
Candy, no child is born "innocent." ( original sin) The Greek word in Mark 10 for child means " youngest and most helpless of children." Christ is calling us to utter dependence on Him. A youngest child cannot do anything for himself. He cannot make an tangible contribution to the household. In fact, they are desperately needy. This is how we are in relation to our Father in heaven. We rely completely upon His mercy for our salvation, and, indeed for our every need. Only by admitting this can we be part of the kingdom of God.
We agree. Rom 5:13 "Sin is not imputed where there is no law". God draws a distinction between inherent sin or the sin nature and willful sin. Also a study into dispensationalism will show that God has dealt with humanity as a with a person growing through the stages of maturity. Thus sin was not present in the infancy of humanity. @Jesus Saves Sinners like me if you look into the scriptures on the book of life, the wording is more in terms of if you have commited sin (not having received forgiveness) you will be blotted out.
When Jesus said the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these, I think He was being literal. If you think about infant mortality throughout history, as well as child sacrifice, miscarriage, abortion, etc, also taking into account that 100% of these children go to heaven, and few adults find the narrow path, there must be many many more children than adults in heaven! Just my two cents. 😀
Mike, what is your view on the scriptures that tell us that New Jerusalem will come down from heaven to the Earth. This is in the Book of Revelation. It also tells us in that book that God will dwell with us....
My personal belief is that there is an "age of responsibility" at which God considers each person a moral agent and starts holding them morally accountable for their actions. That age is on a case-by-case basis, with some precocious children reaching it at a very young age, while some profoundly mentally disabled adults may live to extreme old age and never reach it. I base my view on the fact that God is "not willing that any should perish," and thus will not send any truly innocent person (i.e. one who has not intentionally sinned as a cognizant moral agent) to hell.
I believe that God has a special relationship with the mentally disabled. I work with mentally challenged people. I remember one client who was considered to be profoundly mentality disabled. I was allowed to take her to church. She would sing and pray in her own language. She would listen quietly to the sermons. People said that she could not understand. But when I took her to a living Nativity, she fell to her knees in front of the baby playing baby Jesus. She seem to understand that you bow down and worship Jesus, when you meet Him. I have given her no instructions. She just knew what to do. I thinks she understands very well.✝️✝️
My son really likes Jesus as he understands him. He has intellectual disability, autism level 3, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. He functions at somewhere between 1 1/2 to 3 years old.
He cannot fathom that Jesus died on the cross anymore than he knows that Mufasa died in the gorge to save Simba, or Gandalf died to save the others from the Balrog.
That being said... I also work as a caregiver for the mentally disabled and I have yet to meet one who doesnt like Jesus the person... at least in the same way that they like Ana, and Elsa and HATE prince Hans from frozen.
I think their accountability is different when it comes to self control. A person with cognitive delays doesnt understand personal space for example or personal possessions... so how can they be held accountable for "stealing" a staff's drink when they dont understand that it isnt theirs?
Behaviors are another issue. Sure they are taught not to hit because it isnt nice and it hurts their staff... but the cognitively delayed function on an instinctive level and lack proper coping skills for fear or pain.
"She seem to understand that you bow down and worship Jesus, when you meet Him." She could have seen that on any tv show or Christmas card and copied that. I'd be curious to what what scripture talks about God's special relationship with people that have diverse abilities.

We just don't always know what they understand and believe and how early. It's not like our understanding of God is perfect yet either.

We lost four babies before they were born (three early miscarriages and one born sleeping). Thank you for taking this from a biblical standpoint and not just offer empty fluffy words. Biblical truth is healing and I cried more than once during this teaching. Just hearing how much God loves children and knowing I will see my children again.

Mike, I can’t thank you enough for creating this video. My husband and I lost our baby at ten weeks gestation 12 years ago and I haven’t fallen pregnant again. I had always believed that we will be with our baby in the Kingdom one day and based that on my understanding of the character of the Father and Christ. The way you gently approached this topic is so beautiful and the passages of scripture you referenced in context are so helpful in providing a firm foundation for that hope that I have. Thank you for the diligence and time you have taken to bless parents like us who wait for the Kingdom to be reunited with our children. It truly means more than you can know. God bless brother. The bible gives us hope because under God's government all the dead will be resurrected back on earth.
Acts 24:15 And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
So that these too can enjoy life without the need to die.

Everlasting punishment and a resurrection of judgement are two different things.
A judgement is given ONLY AFTER THE EVIDENCE IS HEARD.
Acts 24:15 promises a resurrection of BOTH the righteous and the unrighteous.
The unrighteous get a resurrection of JUDGEMENT. Which means that unless they CHANGE and live according to God's laws in the New earth, they will be JUDGED UNSUITABLE for everlasting life.
Remember that a death erases all sin (Romans 6:7,23).
Thus, the unrighteous get a NEW OPPORTUNITY to qualify for everlasting life in the New Earth.
There is no sense in God using his holy spirit to bring dead persons back to life, only to tell them that they have no right to live.
Even people like Abraham, Moses, David and others will be resurrected, and they will have to learn about Jesus and his sacrifice. Then, exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus in order to inherit everlasting life.
(John 3:16) “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that EVERYONE EXERCISING FAITH IN HIM (ie Jesus) might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.
Many make the mistake of thinking that a resurrection of judgement is destruction or even worse, some torture.

The innocence of babies is clearest to me in Jeremiah 19:4 "have filled this place with the blood of innocents" and "to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal."
But I could be called innocent in a certain circumstance without being innocent in all ways. Like I can say I have never stolen my mothers book so I shouldn't be punished for that but it doesn't mean I am innocent in every way
thank you so much, mike, for talking about 2 samuel 12: 23! i miscarried a baby when i was 21. i was not saved at the time and was in a position where a decision about that child's life would have been pressured upon me. i have always been grateful for the fact that i was spared having to make that decision. it was not until i was in honduras on a missionary trip 37 years later that one of my teammates brought me the realization that that child is in heaven waiting on me! needless to say, i melted into tears! i never did have another child...i am now just days shy of turning 65 so as the days pass i do think about that child more often but the grief i once had is now joy to know it won't be so long till i am with my child! i am thrilled that you pointed out that verse...i have read it many times but the illumination was never on it for me...till now! praise God! i listen to a lot of your stuff and encourage you to keep doing what you are doing...i pray the Lord will touch many souls thru this ministry!

Dr. Jack Hayford wrote a book titled “I’ll hold you in heaven.“ It addresses miscarriage, death of infants and abortion from a biblical perspective. It’s very inexpensive and comforting for women who have experienced miscarriage.

I've experienced the loss of a brother, he was a stillbirth and I was only 7 years of age. I went into the Hall to mourn as I now understood what death was and saw a figure holding the deceased infant I left in the room with my mother, felt calmed then blinked and the figure was gone. It was an awesome experience. I've only recently found your channel but love the content and it speaks to me in ways conventional pastors fail to do, primarily because of their focus on sounding good or making their congregation feel good, blunt truth is highly appreciated.

I realized I haven't thought about it in years, but I remember growing up that my mom said she had 2 miscarriages before my sister and I were born...I guess I didn't know what to think about it back then, and just hadn't thought about it in years because my mom never brings it up, but I was reminded about it while watching this video and I asked my dad about it since I was afraid asking my mom would make her very sad...My dad told me she miscarried 2 boys, which I didn't know. I don't know why I always assumed they were girls since my sister and I are girls! But to think, for the first time, that I have 2 brothers that I'll really see one day is very special to me! I've always told people I don't have any brothers....I'm so happy I was wrong. ❤️

Each of my grandmothers had multiple miscarriages before my parents and their surviving siblings were born. One of the many things I look forward to in Heaven is meeting my miscarried aunts/uncles on both sides of my family.

I was 4 years old when I received Christ as my Savior. Someone once told me I was too young and couldn’t have been saved at that age because I had not reached the “age of accountability.” But I know differently! Jesus said, “Let the children come unto me....” Here I am, still-belonging to Him!

Just wait till they're 15 or so. The worry for their salvation is a daily struggle (at least for me anyway). It grieves my heart to think; if my son would reject Jesus.
Please look into Summit Ministries from Colorado. My 16 yr old son went to one of there two week programs and he was “born again” from the experience. It’s for 16-24 year olds. Summit did what confirmation was unable to do.

For the 1 Corinthians 7:14, there is a lady in my church that always said “God only has children, not grandchildren.”
Yes! Clearly Paul is talking about purposes of intimate fellowship. Elsewhere he says don't be yoked to unbelievers, which is a warning to those not married yet. But after the marriage, you must stay with the unbeliever...because God sets him/her apart for the sake of the believing spouse. And the same with the kids.

Lately I have been reading my Bible as my infant and 3 year old fall asleep and have been praying about this very topic after my son asked me who God is and I realized the whole concept of God is beyond his understanding if Jesus can't just hang out in the flesh with him.. I also lost a child at 12 weeks in utero who I have always believed was in heaven, but was without evidence.

Hi Mr. Winger, I've been watching your videos for some time now and have been very blessed by them! Thank you :). Granted, I haven't done my own personal in-depth study on the matter, but Romans 5:13 came to mind during the video which seems consistent with your findings: that there exists the nuance of having sin, yet not having it rendered to your account on the basis of ignorance. haha and typing out "ignorance" just now, I'm reminded of yet another verse in Acts 17:30 of God passing over offenses on account of ignorance. I know there's a contextual point being made in each of those passages, but at least it seems the concept of God's overlooking being tied to ignorance is present.
If a teacher is held at higher countability then a unknowing child by logic is not held to the same accountability

I think this teaching is fantastic though, Mike, because you would not believe the ludicrous things fellow believers say to grieving parents. So sorry for your loss. I too have heard rediculous things about my son from the church. He is mentally disabled with seizures and many, especially of the older generation believed him to be possessed by satan which is absurd.
He has a genetic issue... which means God made him this way since before he was even born.

This is invaluable for so many parents, who I can only imagine how badly they might have suffered from loosing a child.
Besides, it is useful for apologetics, as one of the questions I often hear atheists ask is: "What happens with people who have never heard the gospel, including, but not limited to, infants/babies?", and they usually argue that God can't be just and righteous, as babies are not saved.
Further, as you mentioned, it gives at least a little comfort, if possible, when thinking of babies or young children who had to suffer to death or were killed.
When discussing these things in the light of the problem of evil with atheists, I tend to say that often God prevents worse things from happening and usually has a bigger plan, which we don't see, no matter how much we might struggle to recognise this, as what's happening in the moment is so bad and evil.
What you explained here, definitely adds to this view, as we have reason to believe from your quoted Bible passages, that once their earthly suffering has ended, at least these children found their place in God's Kingdom and are likely going to be part of the New Heaven and New Earth.

That is why God purposed RESURRECTIONS for the dead (Acts 24:15).
This, to give dead ones a NEW OPPORTUNITY to qualify for everlasting life on earth (Psalms 37:29, Matthew 5:5).
Babies who die will also be resurrected. There will be survivors around on earth to look after these (Revelation 7:9,10,14).

Thank you Mike. Your multiple uses of scripture helps me support my positions. As a young person I was taught these very things, but figuring it out as an adult is a huge research work. Your work is helping me and makes me inspired to go back to the scripture. I remember my understanding now that I have always understood that God is not a rapist. He doesn’t force his mercy on anyone. And his grace is a broad as possible. Babies haven’t rejected Him therefore they go to heaven. I believe the only persons who will go to hell are those who rejected God.

Thank you so much for this Mike, I love the way you break it all down and speak so much sense with so much clarity in all the subjects you teach on. I do however have 2 related enquiries in the light of what you have taught here, which I have to say I cannot fault. 1) We have an awful problem in this world with abortion on demand. Women feel justified in aborting babies for any reason whatsoever. My fear is that some mothers may believe that if all babies (including those in the womb) go to heaven they are actually sparing those babies from the distress of life on earth (as well as the possibility they may end up in a lost eternity) to justify ending their babies lives in the womb. In some perverse way they may believe they are actually doing their offspring a favour. This may sound like an odd thing to say but I have no doubt that people's minds go there. 2) If children up until the 'stage of accountability' are not morally responsible for their actions be it good or bad and are beyond the judgement of God how can parents justify punishing their children for their wrong doing as instructed by scripture ' spare not the rod ' and other scriptures dealing with family discipline ? Why is it okay for us to punish our children below the stage of moral accountability when it appears that God Himself does not hold them accountable ? I ask those questions in humility simply because they came up in my mind, and not because I am trying to find fault. I am sure you have thought of those too and I would love to hear your reasoning. For the second one I suspect it would be to with the very act of parenting and training children up until they hopefully grasp morality for themselves but still I would like to see the argument set out .
It's not up to parents to decide if their children live or not. If God allows some to be miscarried or stillborn, that's his choice because he gave them life. It's still evil to rob our children of the potential of life. Arborted children might be spared suffering (aside from suffering the abortion itself) but they are also unable to experience any joy either. And they are unable to bless or serve anyone else during their lives...

I was always raised being told there is an age of accountability so all babies and young children go to heaven, now having lost a baby all the questions and what ifs and doubts come in. Im excited to listen to this, but it will probably take a few days to get through. I appreciate you taking on hard topics biblically. It's been 2 years, but for whatever reason, today is one of the hard days, and i need biblical truth, not fluffy encouraging words

As a foreword, to avoid unnecessary accusations/assumptions: I tend agree with Mike on this issue! I believe babies and children go to heaven! I am not 100% convinced and sure, but I believe it to be the case. Also, I want to keep explanations down a bit, while still trying to give some information (maybe for others and perhaps for you too to see where I stand theologically).
The question I have for you, which is just pondering upon the theological implications of our viewpoint: if children go to heaven at what point are they no longer covered by the blood of Jesus' sacrifice? And my focus is not necessarily the age of accountability as much as the fact that they are no longer covered by Grace if they continue to live. Granted you indirectly answered part of the question when you stated what condemns someone. However, John 3:18 would suggest that perhaps unbelief (in Jesus) is what really condemns someone. Secondly, we are looking at what _saves_ someone. Which I think we can agree is Christ and His works, nothing on our account apart from belief, that it is through Him and by Him we are saved. So the implications would be twofold: what saves them and how can they be unsaved? If it's not by faith are babies and children under a different covenant?

There really is no issue if at least one of the parents is saved. The question remains however if neither parent is saved. I think Mike Winger watered down 1 Cor 7. But unlike the OSAS doctrine which the bible refutes clearly and repeatedly, a coherant biblical argument can be made on both sides of the "do all babies go to heaven" topic. But one should not use "God wouldn't" arguments because 1 Sam 15:3 obliterates it.
About Rom 8:21, as I ponder over what you said about children suffering the effects caused by sinful parents, do you think Paul is saying that the creation will be free from bondage to sinful humanity ("bondage to corruption)?

For me, because Christ instructed us that we must be like children to enter the kingdom of God and said, (“Let the children come to me” Mark 10:14-15) I feel God has a plan established for the innocents. Whether it be infants who die in the womb, live children who die, at whatever age or children/adults who are intellectually challenged. God is perfectly just and perfectly merciful. God is love. How can they not be with Him?
I agree. They are under His mercy, not judgement.
Candy, no child is born "innocent." ( original sin) The Greek word in Mark 10 for child means " youngest and most helpless of children." Christ is calling us to utter dependence on Him. A youngest child cannot do anything for himself. He cannot make an tangible contribution to the household. In fact, they are desperately needy. This is how we are in relation to our Father in heaven. We rely completely upon His mercy for our salvation, and, indeed for our every need. Only by admitting this can we be part of the kingdom of God.
We agree. Rom 5:13 "Sin is not imputed where there is no law". God draws a distinction between inherent sin or the sin nature and willful sin. Also a study into dispensationalism will show that God has dealt with humanity as a with a person growing through the stages of maturity. Thus sin was not present in the infancy of humanity. @Jesus Saves Sinners like me if you look into the scriptures on the book of life, the wording is more in terms of if you have commited sin (not having received forgiveness) you will be blotted out.
When Jesus said the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these, I think He was being literal. If you think about infant mortality throughout history, as well as child sacrifice, miscarriage, abortion, etc, also taking into account that 100% of these children go to heaven, and few adults find the narrow path, there must be many many more children than adults in heaven! Just my two cents. 😀

My personal belief is that there is an "age of responsibility" at which God considers each person a moral agent and starts holding them morally accountable for their actions. That age is on a case-by-case basis, with some precocious children reaching it at a very young age, while some profoundly mentally disabled adults may live to extreme old age and never reach it. I base my view on the fact that God is "not willing that any should perish," and thus will not send any truly innocent person (i.e. one who has not intentionally sinned as a cognizant moral agent) to hell.
