Great video Michael, I like the effects you achieved with the dragon stamp. I must invest in one :) The landscapes come out nicely too which surprised me, I didn't think it would be possible to get something like that with a hotplate and dabbing.
very nice video.wondering if a single ceranfield-plate with a heathregulator can be used? since they larger then the iron, and cause the encaustic-plates are fare more expensive?
anita strebel ... could try that. Any heated surface that does not get too hot could be employed and the approaches adapted to suit that device and size. Experimenting is the way forward.
Fregalite.. yes, just a few colours are all you need to begin successfully. Colours mix as expected - so red and yellow will make some type of orange, red and blue make some type of purple, etc.
Senka, it would appear to be the run of the mill wax that Michael sels in his online store. Usual ingredients can be beeswax, damar gum and pigment to colour it.
I love love love the last one!! 😍😍😍 going to try myself!! Thank you for this inspiration!!

How many different colours do you have on those waxes?
There are 48 encaustic art wax block colours. Look in shop at encausticshop.com for the full range of hues.
Thank you.
But I assume when I would start, I would do it with basic colours like blue, red and yellow. Maybe black and white... (economic reasons)

Hi, can you please tell me what kind of wax is that?

Thank you, Keith!
