    I am loving your little copycats! It’s hard to believe they are from the same litter as each one is so unique and Maggie is so small that she looks like the fifth kitten. Olive looks like she is ready to be the big sister to this second generation and is starting early. I am so jealous you get to cuddle and play with all of them to yourself. Fate has dealt these cuties a wonderful life just like the rest of your animal family! Hugs to all. 😊

      Two look like Maggie but a black & white and an orange. I’m not even sure who’s their daddy..,it would be either Chunk or Dexter. Very cool to experience these little ones. 😊

    I have a question I'm hoping you can help me with. My cat had three healthy kittens last night. She gave birth in a crate that is the size for a medium size dog. I don't think there is room for a litter box. I brought her food into the bedroom, Her litter box is in the laundry room. She hasn't left the babies yet, It's been about 11 hours. I took the top off of the crate last night while she was giving birth and when she was done I left her alone and went to bed, When I woke up this morning I found her and the babies and my daughter's closet. That is the room she chose, I took her babies and put them back in the crate. I fed her wet food and she had a little water and I put the top back on the crate and closed the door on the crate. I just want her to leave her kittens in the crate where they are safe, But I would like to at least take the door off so she can get out and get food and go to the litter box when she needs to. I'm thinking I'm going to try to take the door off in a few hours and hopefully she keeps the babies in there. I put a blanket over the top so it's more dark so maybe hopefully she will want to stay in there and not carry her babies to the closet. My daughter's closet is full of stuff and we don't have the time to clean it out right now, I really don't want her carrying her babies and keeping them in the closet I'm worried about them suffocating in clothes toys etc, I have a 2-year-old labrador retriever and my daughter's room is the room with the least amount of people and animals and activity. Although I wish she would let me bring her and her kittens in the living room so I can watch them, I'm just really nervous because I had a cat a long time ago that had a baby born that was not alive and her other baby passed away after a week. I'm just nervous and praying that these kittens and the momma are all going to be safe and healthy.

      i observed with ours that she also moved the babies after about a day. I think where she gave birth it becomes soiled i had used shredded paper and towels but I'm sure it got yucky with the birthing so I realized she wanted them moved into a new dry space. Just keep the closet doors shut so she can't go in there but she will need to eat and relieve herself so you cant keep the crate closed for long. Be sure to give her fresh bedding in the crate and maybe she will stay in there even though the door is open but really it's up to her. I'm sure she's only looking for a nice nesting place to nurse her kids as they like dry dark spot. Try draping a big towel across the crate to make it darker inside but still allows her to go out. I let her raise her kittens in a big rubbermaid tote that I cut a big hole into. She stayed in that tote for many weeks. I moved her into a crate with a litter to prevent the babies from going feral in my workshop theres too many hiding spots. Be sure you socialize them everyday, handle them and hug them so as they are growing up they know you can be trusted. As long as the mama is nursing the babies they should be alright. Best of luck.

      @@HiddenSpringFarm I cannot thank you enough for your reply!!! Here is a crazy update, So her last kitten was born at midnight last night, I just left the house for an hour and I came home and had my son go in there and check on them to make sure they were in the crate and there was another one!!! So now we have four healthy babies. 🙏🐈🍼🐾🧸 So like you said that's what I did I closed off the closet and she noticed that she couldn't get in there so she has been staying in the crate, I took the top off and the door off and she has been in there and seems very content and safe. She did come out to use the cat box and to say hi but when the baby started crying she ran back in there. She still is fluffing up the latest baby so I don't want to change the towels yet but I will in about a half hour, I just want to let her rest for a bit. Getting a big rubbermaid tote is a really great idea, and much cheaper, maybe I will have my husband grab the big black one and cut a hole in it for her Thank you for the tips 😊

      I can’t tell yet, I keep checking but maybe it’s too early to distinguish. Thanks Joan, hard to get things done on the farm spending too much time with these cuties 😝

    They will never wean since poor Maggie can't ever get away from the obese things when she trapped in a very tiny cage

    • @HiddenSpringFarm
      @HiddenSpringFarm  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      way too young to wean still, they were just starting to eat solid food. Obese? This was over 2 years ago you know. She wasn't trapped, she was protected and safe...big difference.

      @@HiddenSpringFarm She was still trapped and unable to escape or move away from them so they could nurse against her will
