Two of my favourite cafes were Shillong Cafe, which is situated in between Laitumkhrah and Don Bosco, and the next is actually a fast food place not a cafe, goes by the name of Jeves, I hope they are still there and functioning, it's situated in Don Bosco, just near Anthony's
It's unfortunate to hear that you had a bad experience at one of Shillong's cafeterias, but it's great to know that there are other cafes with better food and services. It's a shame you missed out on some authentic dishes, but hopefully you can try them out on your next visit. Don't forget to check out cafes with traditional and modern designs too!

Most of the parts of this video have haze and greenish fog, also, the colors look very dull especially of the drones. The hazy atmosphere is problem which is not found in European Cities.
Bro, café Shillong Heritage is the best café in Shillong tbh. I explored a lot of cafés during my stay and this one just blew mu mind. Views, food, ambience everything. Check it out!
As a person born and brought up in shillong, cafes there are over rated and pricey and mediocre food. Beauty is in the local jadoh and chow shops. and ofcos aloo muri which is simply love.

Brother whenever you go to North East just be humble and try not to mess with them, cause one you messed up with them they'll swallow you alive, but if you just mind your own business and don't be rude nobody will miss behaved with you. Cause my dad worked in Shillong before, whenever we visited Shillong he used to tell us don't be rude, do your own business everything will be fine and pleasant.
Isn't that same for all the places ?? Trust me the most intolerant, rude, indiscipline, ego centric, unhygienic and lack of social etiquette are found in some of the big metros and cities especially Delhi. So, let's not divide among ourselves and pinpoint to a particular places.

@@HoppingBug same here bro, I was about to go to Shillong last year but there was violence there cause of the police shootout and the crowd was furious so my dad told me not to go there for the time being it's not safe for us at that time. But i saw some people in TH-cam they make it up an issue that those people hate and kills our Hindu bhai but the truth is they beat anybody who stand in their way it's doesn't matter which tribe or which part of India you belong, they even beat their own tribal people who try to oppose them.

It's almost 15 years since I've left shillong after staying there for 9 years and it's sad that the people are still rude. My experience there was neither good either. People are just mean and proud. But funny thing is when they cross Barapani they automatically becomes so friendly and nice.. The fact is they are chicken hearted. I'm seeing lots of development happening in ur video but wats the use when their mindset is still the same. Wake up shillong people.. time to redeemed urself.
You guys complaining about café people being rude to you when you guys didn’t even take the trouble to ask about the local fruit you were buying. And eating. Typical mainland behaviour. I have been to Meghalaya - shillong, khasi hills and garo hills. People there are living a life which for them is very sorted. They don’t have too many things easily available to them. Not dissing you or anything. I love your content but you need to probably develop depth of understanding cultures and people. Cultural shock aside, try to see the world from how other people too are living it. For example each home in Shillong and the rest of Meghalaya, maintain cleanliness and flowers, like its a must have thing, which many of us even with the ease of living- do not do. Khasi tribe has this thing of offering betel nut after meals. It’s considered an honour to offer snd receive the courtesy. Maybe content creators should say a disclaimer- this is my very limited experience and understanding of this place. To think that i was going to share this video with my family and friends, so that we could visit Shillong together. Now, never in a hundred lifetimes.

The video is not directed towards “khasi people” or “khasi culture” or “people in meghalaya”. I have lived in Guwahati for 4 years and I have spent a fair amount of time in Meghalaya or North east in general. I do have a decent knowledge about their culture and way of life or their struggles. Great that you pointed out those small moments where I tried sharing a genuine feedback about “a few cafes” in Shillong and “their staff’s behaviour “ towards their guest. But strange how you took away the main highlight from the video where I have literally screamed out loud as to how much I love people in Meghalaya or north east India in general. There is a popular saying “You see what you think, you see what you feel, you are what you see” I truly believe in this. I think I made my point. Sorry if you felt hurt after watching the video but my intentions were just to be genuine and spread a positive message.
