Tools Rolls. Love them or hate them- they're useful in some circumstances. Rolls & bags that roll up are my preferred way to store tools that I need on the go.
In this video, I walk through the features I like and dislike on the tool rolls I own, as well as briefly show the types of tools I carry in them.
I am not sponsored by anyone. I just like tools & enjoy helping the next guy in hopes of saving people a few bucks by not buying a tool they aren't happy with.
    Cheers 🍻

My son gave me the same Ryker bag. Been using it for about a year and a half as a professional marine tech, getting in and out of engine compartments, tossing it around. It's held up beautifully. I'll buy another one in a heartbeat.

Always remember the double facing tool rolls can invert along their center line and sit on the rim of a 5 gallon bucket

Ended up buying three tool rolls to compare, use, and give as a gift off Tractor Supply. Thank you for the video!! I was thinking about the Ryker bag and skipped it, bought a Wolervine, DC cargo, and CLC. All great options for the beginner.

i have had the ryker bag for 3 years, use it everyday on construction sites, zero problems and is still like new. Now its the quality of Atlas but to say its junk is wrong.

Got mine for $16 on Amazon...You can't beat that price with a baseball bat. He said it has cheap stitching. No problem I'm taking mine when I get it to my local seamstress. I'm going to let her double the stitches to make it stronger.👀

It’s cheap but he uses it almost everyday. Thinks something will go wrong but after a few months nothing has gone wrong yet. Sounds like money well spent.

The bash on Ryker does seem pretty unreasonable. I mean: the regular one is 1000D Polyester, and if he had gotten the PRO for practically the same price it's made with 1680D Polyester. In terms of tear resistance and durability, THAT material is atleast equivalent to 1050D Nylon/Cordura used to make the Atlas 46 products. It won't stretch as bad or absorb water as easily either. So there are plenty of pros with the Ryker. Dollar per dollar it offers more value than the Atlas 46. You ALWAYS get what you pay for. So take cost out as a factor and of course Atlas 46 wins. But I can buy 6 Ryker Pros for the price of one Yorktown. I'll personally take the 6 Ryker Pros and build assorted toolboxes, a networking kit, a firearms kit, and maybe even a fishing kit. Fun fun fun.

I love my rolls. I first saw tool rolls when my boss bought one from Duluth (nicest one ever. Prob expensive) i have 2 kobalts, 2 harbor freights and a grease monkey socket roll) i use all of mine for sets.. like all of my combos, gear wrench combos, flex head gear wrench combos and offsets are in their respective rolls. Never thought of doing the way you do. Thanks for the content🤙🏻

@@TheBarteringBard i had just bought the grease monkey roll before commenting. When i got home i remembered that the crecent pass through socket set i bought came with no case and a couple of junky plastic socket holders.. the grease monkey roll was just right. Absolutely awesome quality for $9.99(northern tool.) Unfortunately it doesn’t look like they have much else..

great video! Fun to see the Corvair in the back, my wife had a Greenbrier window van back in the 70's. The model you have is really rare as I'm sure you know, didn't see that one very often even back in the late 60's and early 70's.
Have you checked out the Bucket Boss tool roll? Model 74004 for 40-50 bucks looks interesting. I have a tool bag by them that seems pretty well made.
oops, just watched your tool roll #2 video! never mind about doing more, all the options you'd be doing them forever. Good looking Monza!

My dad loved Corvans a lot. He had several, but his best find was the 62 load side he restored about a decade ago. He regretted selling it every day.. and searched for years until he found the 63 Rampside Deluxe that is now mine to cherish.
I've heard good things about the bucket boss. I hope one day to do an all out "Tool Roll Comparison 3", but that will require some saved pennies piling up for a little while. 😉
Thank you so much for watching!

Bro what I purchased that Rhyker bag for my dad cause he does a ALOT of offroading with jeep clubs. And he uses THE LIVING SHIT outta that bag. It's been thrown around, dragged on the ground, completely submerged in water, left out in the 100°+ texas heat, covered in mud, and pressure washed and it still looks great. Easily the best gift I gave my dad cause of how often he uses it

    UPDATE:
The only tool rolls I still have to date are the Dickies roll & the two Atlas 46 rolls.
I use the Dickies roll as a wrench roll, which is it's manufacter's intended purpose. It works fine, but I will not buy another one when this one dies. I will buy something that keeps the wrenches more securely held in place.
I use the Atlas 46 mini as my go to tool bag. It lives in my truck and goes with me everywhere I go. This is my MVP Tool storage and I WILL buy another one if mine becomes unrepairable beyond my ability & the warranty doesnt cover the repairs. I will note that it is still in fanastic condition, despite being tossed around on a weekly basis like an ugly step child that continues breaking your mother's favorite china.
The larger Atlas 46 is a good roll, but has some flaws that make it unusable for me beyond acting as an extra layer of organization for my overflow tools in the bottom draw of my tool box. I would not buy this roll again if I had a time machine and a vendetta.
The clc roll is good, I still recommend it. I actually put together a tool set using mine for my friends younger brother and gave it to him as a gift as congratulations for buying his first project car (a bitchin' 350z). Great budget pick for a person new to tools.
Ryker bag sux, and always will. Definitely don't buy one, unless you like overpaying for poorly constructed products made with cheap materials. I gave mine to my brother, not because i don't like him, but because it was good enough to he a temporary bag for him. I intend to buy him a rolling fire roll in the future so we can burn the ryker bag with hellfire like it deserves.
Cheers to all, and thanks for watching! 🤘

Thanks for the video! Exactly what I was searching around for. Unfortunately it looks like they no longer have your Yorktown mini available anymore and have replaced it with a V2 that I'm not sure I like as much. Any thoughts on their new design? It looks a bit more rigid and doesn't have the third shallower pouch anymore.

Sorry bro but just saying “it feels super cheap” is simply subjective. The thing is sitting there looking like he just pulled it out the amazon package. The Ryker bag is going on 3 years for me and its holding up perfectly and packed to the gills. Not a surprise there are similar comments backing up the Ryker in the comments section.
    I’ll buy a 2nd hands down
