I wouldn't go currently if you're an American. A bit risky IMO. I went in 2016 and while it was fun, I heard numerous horror stories of the Chinese Police busting into people's hotels/apartments in the middle of the night and demanding identification, taking equipment, etc, from the people that actually lived there or visited often. There are also very few westerners there, so good luck if you don't know the language.

Hell yeah, id love some more China vlogs. If you want temperate and comfortable, from a fellow person who sweats easily I would highly recommend Kunming, place is amazing and has great food.
