Learn more about the music:
VV Ramanamurthy is a leading mridangam artist. Born to a lineage of Carnatic masters, he was recognised as a prodigy before embarking on a successful performance career. He has worked with Hindustani and jazz artists as well as leading Carnatic performers, and finds time to teach many promising students of his own.
G Guruprasanna is a Carnatic percussionist, specialising in the kanjira. He trained under legendary maestro G Harishankar, and has accompanied a swathe of top classical artists as well as collaborating with jazz musicians. Today he tours widely and continues to study under kanjira master Vyasa Vittala. Hear more of Guruprasanna here:

We'd like to upload everything for free - but filming, editing, and hosting cost money, and we’re a small not-for-profit organisation. Signing up to the Darbar Player costs about the same as a couple of coffees a month ($5), which we hope is an excellent price for such a wealth of unique music.
The reverberating crisp cadences of the khanjira brings back fond memories of his grand-guru the late legend Harishankar.
Most difficult part was to replicate the beats of the two sided mridangam on a one sided kanjira with exact laya.. Brilliantly executed
Both mridangam and kajira is very briliented and good cobination

@@debayanin I don't see any 'regionalism' but some zealous pride maybe. Music was invented in India(samveda) as tool for devotion.

In all the percussion instruments only the sound of Mridangam is filled with POURUSHAM(Manliness), rest all the instrument can never match its majestic sound.
Another instrument is called rudra Veena, search it up!
