Mack MRU Leach Garbage Truck W/Custom Glass Box!

This has definitely been on my list for a LONNNGG time! I recently got ahold of the driver through some buddy’s of mine, and John and I went out to find him! After quite a bit of time searching, luck was on our side, as we found this beautiful Mack MRU Leach rear loader finishing up its day!
2am is starting time for this beast, and 2pm is when it finishes. 12hrs a day, 5 days a week, this hard working truck and driver haul recyclables in the city of Portland. Trashco was bought out by Republic Services a while ago, and without updating the color scheme of these trucks, Portland runs primary white republic trucks! I admire Trashco as they had a pretty sick fleet. Consisting of MRU Mammoths, a variety of side loaders for commercial, and of course custom rear loaders, most of which have glass boxes.
I’d like to thank the driver for putting up with our filming haha! It was great to finally meet you!

One of my favorite rear loaders ever filmed, this thing looks incredible! So glad Republic kept it white, it sure makes it stand out that much more. Leach RLs always have looked good throughout the design changes over the years imo. Tipper seems to work very well too which was nice to see. That was awesome seeing him dump glass carts! Gotta love that about Portland. Terrific find!

Nice video, really enjoy watching this truck. Seems like he has quite the route, between dumpsters and carts. Big carts seem kinda sketchy going up on that little glass box when they’re full too, wonder if any have ever slipped off.

Commercial recycling sucks, 3 years of it and went back to residential. Had this exact truck.
