2k17, I miss you. just the right amount of cheese, not a lot but you had shooting glasscleaners granted you needed skill for timing, athletic finishers that would make everything, point forwards who could break ankles/spam , stretch bigs shooting full court etc. it was fun tbh traveling to the different parks and running it up

As a Celtics fan I feel the 87 3PT rating for Hauser is very fair. I’m surprised 2k even recognised that he’s a sick shooter😅. An 82 for Garland is horrible tho imo, huge fan of his game.
I think Hauser is one of the top 10 or so pure 3pt shooters. Depending on how they rank other players, 87 might be ok even though I personally think he's a 92 or 93 shooter.
I'm old and have been playing 2k since about 2k2. The game came a long way since then. The biggest problem isn't the ratings, tbh I don't care about any of that. That is someone opinion on how good a player is. My issue is the game play. I don't play online, I mainly play the my player story. The pick and roll is broken. Anyone who watches a game or has ever played in their entire life would know that you don't go under on a screen on a shooter, especially with the defender in drop EVERY SINGLE TIME Never a switch, never going over on a pick, no hedging nothing. I understand their more 3's shot now days, but their are still people going to the basket and probing defenses. Not just pick and roll shoot a 3 off the pic. Its infuriating and makes the game not fun to play.
They nerfed the square button shooting while adding the new right stick shooting mechanic. The push timing with tempo must both be excellent for a green release. The button shooting is still the same, but it's totally different compared to 2K24 because of the new shot profile setting (mechanic). I play MyNBA and have found out I need to be on a lower difficulty because the CPU is too damn advanced for even an all-star difficulty of play. I like the game. The new mechanic just made the CPU a lot more OP because they can shoot it no matter where they are.
I only started playing 2k during 2k20 and I loved playing it for about 2-3 years, but then 2k23 came about and I played that for about a month and never touched it again. I genuinely thought it was one of the worst gameplay experiences ever. And I played FIFA Ultimate Team for over a decade so that’s saying something. I do kinda miss playing 2k since I haven’t played in years but ik I’ll be disappointed just like I was fifa for the last few years. 2k and EA are basically the same. Same motives, same ignorance towards the community and gameplay issues. Everything that can be said about 2k can be said about fifa and vice versa. Literally everything.
Yea the past 3 years I haven't bought the game. Then a couple months before the next one comes out they put it on sale for like 10 bucks and I cave. Every time I'm disappointed. I want do it again. Also 2k is worse than EA in my experience. If you played myteam on 2k recently they've removed the auction block and they sell coins and vc now. So they completely control the market. EA is scummy but they haven't sunk to that level. Not yet at least.

You look at Fortnite and boom the game was hella enjoyable for most people in the first few seasons because it didn’t feel like we had to sweat to enjoy the game but it is what it is. I doubt we will go backwards

2k players have this weird obsession that everyone should have a super high rating. Bogdon being an 80 is percectly fine in fact ud even be ok with 78 or 79. People will argue for 1 or 2 high overalls like bro it literally makes zero difference especially with the heavy reliance on badges and animations

I haven't much cared for NBA games since NBA live stopped. I preferred the basketball in those games. I played 2k19 i think, but never got good at it. Haven't wanted to try the new ones since PC doesn't get next gen (until 2k25 though I think).
I just cant do it with 2k any more. See no reason to buy it. If i get in the mood for basketball i can download 2k16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 or 23. Ive accepted the fact that i just dont care about basketball like i used to, especially in video game form. Im okay with that.
