This is giving me major 2012 FTL energy. And not just because of the theme. The juggling of weapons, random events, and interesting, unique game play all hive a great vibe and care to them that I could see becoming beloved. It’ll be interesting to see if it takes off the same way, especially with the supposed variety of ships and pilots.
Most of the similarities are superficial and/or based entirely on art style plus thematics. As he mentioned, the actual mechanics have very little to do with FTL's gameplay mechanics.
I tried the demo and its so nice to see a demo that is generous enough to really get you into it and get a good feel. This game is so much fun and i can't wait to support the developers when it comes out.
i just picked it up and beat the tutorial after watchin your video. The devs really knocked it out of the park with this and I cannot wait to play the release!!
They worked with the key part of his build: the “give adjacent items a white 3.” Basically all other items required at least a blue, so giving a white to them would be meaningless.
@@belian5928yeah, if he would have gotten guns that he could throw any generic energy to replace them, it would have been worth it. But barring that, he wouldn't be able to fully utilize other weapon types with that central unit he was abusing for the free energy inputs. It just gave him a very consistent level of damage he could rely on.
I loved the demo and managed to (just) beat it, but it was much more of a struggle than the build you ended up with in this video. It seems weird to me though that they’d have over 30 pilots to choose from but only 2 ships? That’s a bit odd. I’d happily only have 10-15 pilots if it meant having say 10 ships. But hopefully more ships come at a later date.
Vs. the Triangle ship with the Fragile Core (Failure: damage you take is doubled) I think you had to move up and attack the Fragile Core's lane specifically, for that to happen.
Fuck yes! I have been waiting for this since i played the demo couple days ago ^^ I really love the gameplay loop, but maybe a little bit too easy. Excited to see how you are liking the game
I totally agree about the difficulty - this really feels like "easy" mode as the demo, if they scale up the difficulty significantly I could see this being a game I play for a long time
I think compared to Colbalt Core, this game has alot better gameplay and UX (like the blinking when you activate a unit or treasure). Colbalt Core has a comfier vibe tho.
Strange both of these games have similar settings... this particular gameplay loop could've fit in many themes but both of these chose the spaceship? and they're popping up at the same time? Very strange. This is most likely a coincidence and Im not pointing towards either of the studios. But sometimes, the original idea is pitched when the owner tries to hire or outsource some work and the devs steal the concept and make it on their own. Very common phenomenon, especially in the outsourcing area.
Played the demo for a few hours today. I thought the game was super fun overall, although I gotta say I don't like the energy pool system they're using. Also getting hurry up messages while I'm thinking annoys the crap out of me.
I feel like they should make this a turn based game. Every time you add an energy the enemy adds an energy. That way you have to try and think ahead as you don't know what energy he will put in a slot. Move should take up a turn too. If you are out of possible moves then the other person can just use up the rest of his moves.
3:17 - Does anyone know what he is saying? I am catching Star "something", RP? PG? Is it a reference to a game or genre? Not doing this to be a dick or anything like that. I always look out for games that I may not have heard that follow this genre.
Of all the games I've seen you try i wish this one would get a series
Adeptus Mechanicus? Somebody loves and inspired by 40K.
Uh oh games workshop wants their trademark back.
@@trentondunn6834 Games Workshop are going to hire bounty hunters for that, makes sense lol
Oh shit they are almost as evil as Disney. Surprised this channel didn't get struck, let alone the game

He does straight out say that it's really not that similar...

The demo also has random talents starting with your 3rd run.
Try the 25 money = free unit hero, really cool build around.

Streamer kept his 2 starting basic guns the whole run, that is dedication!

@@piranhaplantX he did get guns that took white, he just didn't use them.
Cool strategic (and not slow) gameplay + clean visuals + reto playing it = great video! ty
The full game is out for 9 USD or 8.77 EUR
on 10% discount, by the way :D
Perfect ring says all attack units. You can leave the support units empty and it would still work.

Really enjoyed the video! Hope you play more!

Some of those enemies had pretty funny things to say. Amazing looking game!
the sci-fi cowboy vibes in the music are really insane too
Absolutely love this game! Thanks for covering it, I can't wait for it to come out.
played the demo, loved it and wishlisted the game. Thank you
Raspberry... There's only one man who'd dare to give me the raspberry!

Really liked this as well as the cobalt core video both seem cool in their own way.
This looks really promising and engaging, i really like it👍
Looks great. Would love to see ore when it releases properly
So Reto. Will we be seeing a series on this game in the future?
This demo has alot of meat on the bones!
Nice video, I will definitely Wishlist it
30:27 I'd probably change the name of that church just in case.
Use the Schwartz, Lonestarr!
I see your Schwartz is as big as mine!!
There better be spaceballs reference in this game... :P
I need more of this game
This socketing numbers to make bigger numbers idea makes my ADHD brain happy.
i was finished with 1 playthrough in no time. wondering if i skipped 90% ?
was like 3 × 5 bounties or something?

Seems cool but I think Cobalt Core is more my speed. Loved the demo.
Nice game! Where can I get it?

my favorite game from the nextfest.
this looks SICK
simple but nice shader work
Dicey Dungeons in space, with an FTL aesthetic?
I also think that devs need to do slightly better job at explaining colors. I missed it at first too
about time we got a similar vibe to ftl

I think he's saying "it'd be like a dice based RPG"
dice-based RPG, yep
@@Retromation would be fair to call this a staRPG though
Math +roguelike?
or, just an option, use proper language and say diagonal, orthogonal or both
the visuals are nice but the gameplay is probably nothing for me. the main gameplay loop is not very interesting nor does look engaging.
👍
