I drive a volvo a40. Pretty much the exact same truck. We drift the fuck out of em. They have a universal joint between the cab and the bed. If you roll the bed the cab stays upright and a track hoe just flips you back over and away you go. Its a really fun job. I get paid to go mudding in a monster truck everyday

@@maknyc1539 herbavore is a bit of a misnomer. deer, like many prey animals, occasionally eat meat and gnaw bones. they also have a natural demand for salt. a couple of cheez its isn't going to harm it.

I’ve done this before with my scooter on a steep road, and let me tell you, you are CONSTANTLY worrying about a little pebble or something that will cause you to go flying, I had pneumatic tires on mine so it wasn’t as bad.
Every time I see that skip I'm terrified for the skateboarder. I know its a vid, not live, but I'm still scared for him.
I hit a small rock with my skateboard wheel on a steep road and can tell you it's amazing how far you can fly once airborne. I was fortunate enough to land in a pile of leaves by the side of the road.

Ive actually driven one of those dumptrucks before it’s insanely intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it its really fun using the hydraulics to steer instead of the wheels that dont turn

A mask stops your breath from spraying everywhere. if you look at IR imagery of people breathing with and without masks the difference is huge. With a mask your breath stays right at your face all the time. Since Covid-19 is an airborne infection it makes sense that if everybody wears masks they stop breathing on eachother and the virus is not transmitted nearly as effectively.

@@robosing225 They (inconsistent drafts) are called Thermals and gliders use them instead of burning fuel to get up to altitude.
Also, turbulent winds - not something that happens in free air. There is nothing to create this turbulent wind, and nowhere for it to "go". You can get a turbulent wind around the corner of a building, in an lley way. But gliders usually don't glide there. Understanding meteorology and weather dynamics of mountains is an absolutely integral part of flying gliders in mountains. Pilots can visualize how wind blows across the mountains very well, they can predict zones of convergence and other phenomena very well. Because they would actually get rekt if they couldn't. Your question is equivalent to "how can I walk? What if my legs suddenly become liquid or cease to exist at all? "

If you're interested in gliding i got some interesting info for you.
Daily Dose said that gliders wouldn't need any additional energy to glide up to 10 hours, which is confusing at best and wrong at worst.
First of all, gliders don't necessarily have to be dragged into the sky by another plane. There are also winch starts, where you are pulled in the air by a giant winch that drags you towards itself, and even a really weird bungee start, where you are basically pulled off a mountain.
Furthermore, the plane isn't put in the air and then slowly glides down in 10 hours like a paper plane, but instead uses the thermal around him to stay in the air. In theory the time the glider can stay in the air isn't limited at all, it only becomes very hard to stay in the air because there is no thermal at night, you could however use lee waves or other phenomenons to stay in the air over night. The world record for the longest flight time is 70 hours, and was made back in 1961 in Hawaii. There are multiple reasons why this record has never been broken, main of which being that flying a glider at night is illegal in almost every country in the world.
For those interested, gliding can be pretty cheap, at the airfield i went to the flights cost me 4,50£ for a takeoff (this includes landing cost etc. too) and then 24 pence per minute of flight. This results in around 20£ for a one hour flight, which honestly is cheaper than most other hobbys, like piano lessons for example.
As a thumb rule, you can expect a cost of around 1200£ per year if you plan to fly regularily, and the flight license will eventually cost some money too. However i still think this is in the affordable price range, we surely aren't rich but got to pay the price anyway, in my case, because i didn't fly very often, the price was somewhere at 800£.
Usually, gliders have no engine, which is their speciality. It makes the flight much more challenging and skill based, which is why gliding is generally considered a sport. However gliders still technically require energy to fly, it just doesn't come from the engine, but from hot wet rising air.
Edit: It feels great to know that my typing work has not gone to waste, and i hope that i could convince at least some people to take a deeper look into the sport and maybe participate in it too.

Wouldn't be surprised if that guy is no longer driving for the mine. You can't drop a deuce without getting a permit at places like that. Not to mention tire and transmission wear. Those machines are expensive. Heavy equipment can actually be pretty fragile when used in ways not intended.

I'm rather shocked that massive truck didn't flip doing that drift.
They're designed to be one part or the other goes. They're two separate machines pretty much. Wheels and tires weight about as much as a honda Accord and six wheels holds the machine planted to the ground. Doesn't mean it's never happened. I was on site one day and heard one of the tires blow. I couldn't hear much for about a day or two. About 40grand per tires.

Theres another way to get gliders into the air
They get pulled by a rope where they at one point go nearly straight up
The rope then falls back to the ground with a small parachute attatched to it as soon as the glider is in its right position
