My father treated my mother in the same manner that Mr. Brooks treated his wife😢. My mother finally started standing up for herself and demanded the respect she deserved
What is being talked about in this movie feels like we are continuing to have this SAME conversation. History repeating itself. Smh!! But man, all of these beautiful stars from Clarice Taylor to Glynn Turman. I love it ! I like Gail and Marvin's wedding.❤🖤💚
It was so awesome watching this movie. Now I remember where I saw the actress who played Gail; she was the cute cousin on Good Times who drank a little too much. All of the actors were amazing. I was born in the late 80s but the 70's seemed to have been such a cool era for African Americans. I always wondered what it would have been like to be in my 20's or 30's around that time ❤
This is the first of my movie binge with BlackTree TV New Year's Day /. 2025. The name is perfect "Black Tree", these movies are the branches of my childhood / pride of being born beautiful Black. 💕 ❤ U Blacktree TV.
I collect Black films, books & music. I have this film on digital and I have a copy of the stageplay. My favorite line in this film is, "The only -ism is WE-ism." That resonates all the way in 2025. BlackTreeMedia, keep on keeping on. This content is critical to the culture right now!
I was a baby and I remember this whole vibe and atmosphere, safe and loving the skin I’m in… boy does time change 😢We were indeed blessed to be a part of a great time in our culture.
Franky Crocker RIP… This movie was so good I may have to watch it a second time. I loved this movie. Made me feel good. Made me feel proud and the nostalgia of what was in the 70’s to what is and what we as a people are today, full circle in remembrance of the fight against the struggle.
This is one of my favorite films of all times. Later on in the the late 90's, I found out that I was working right across the street from the building where this movie was filmed, in downtown Los Angeles. Fancy that!!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤ This was phenomenal & hilariously funny movie! I especially loved the ending how the family put their differences aside and came together for the greater good ❤ I’m happy this popped up on my radar ❤
Saw this as a young teen back in the day, so thanks for sharing it & jogging precious memories of days gone by. The ending was the best part of all, and to see all the legendary actors together was extra special. Ms. Dubois in braids looks a lot like Thelma of Good Times when she was engaged to Ebay. Happy New Year (2025) to everyone & God bless all!
I was 3 yrs old 😊 when this movie came out what a hell of era gone bye the good old Days much respect to every actor that played in this movie and God bless everyone in 2025🎉
I love!!! this movie. I will watch this movie again. The Brooks family had a lot of family issues but in the end they knew that had to come together and changes some things to make there family be a family unit again. I love! this movie
A few of the characters I have seen before in other films but I don't know what their real names are. The shoeshine man known as Sweet Meat also played in an episode of GOOD TIMES as the Dad of JJs prom date that was a Junkie, and he had a part in Malcolm X as a Barber. Mr. Brooks played in "The Color Purple" (1985) as Nettie and Celie's stepfather. The man seated next to the Mailman played in "Uptown Saturday Night" as a Bartender. Then there's the barber with the huge Afro (Dick Anthony Williams) he played as "Pretty Tony" in The Mack. Great cast of players in this movie. Many thanks to whoever posted it
Sweet Meat also played in one of the funniest episodes of Sanford and Son ever. He played a character by the name of Big Money Grip and told Fred he was Lamont’s real father. It was also nice to see the grandmothers of both The Cosby Show and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in this movie.
@@t.kuykendall517 Oh yeah. You're right! I forgot he played as Big Money Grip. That was a funny episode. And the grandmother from the Fresh Prince, played with Diana Ross in "Lady Sings The Blues" as Billie Holiday's Mother.
I was born in the 60's let me tell you these movies are true treat. To see the Star ⭐ I grew up watching. The nostalgia. Excellent talent. Brilliantly shown in classic Cinema 📽️

I was thinking about that the same and she is The person from good times
Willona is always classy and has a vibe.
Beautiful film, full of love and life. Black Community at its finest.
An absolute gem ! I can see where Eddie Murphy got his barber scenes and characters for his film Coming to America
We had this movie on a Disc . Here in 2024 and it’s still relevant
I have not seen this in ages - - mom (God Rests her soul) loved this film!
