I suddenly started hearing the soundtrack for Berserk about a month ago, and saw how much of a great series it was in the comments, so I decided to start watching. I binged all 25 episodes (1997 version) in 3 days, The story/soundtrack is so freaking good, it's definitely one of the best animes I've ever watched.

Same I’m pretty late but I’m thinking of buying the deluxe edition but I prefer the smaller manga so it’s easy for portability and how comfortable it is.
I saw one of those hard cover books at my local bookstore. Def going back and picking it up!

I started reading Berserk when Deluxe vol 1 was released. Fell in love. I own 2 Prime 1 Studio statues now. If I had the space, I’d get all of them.

I know I've mentioning this a million times in past vids. But, it's just really awesome when someone who has zero knowledge of Berserk are now BIG FANS of the series. All because they saw it somewhere, watch a clip online, maybe saw a image, or in your case just saw these unique statues being released and was just interested in the characters.

Na, watch the trilogy. If that hooks you then it gives you the perfect point where you can jump into the manga and get into the real story of the series after that and have the opportunity to go back and see how the manga was slightly different. Lastly i would say try one of the tv series.

Berserk is one of those stories that stay evergreen, the way the characters live with their trauma is done so well
I’m currently reading berserk, I’m french so here we only have you know, the little versions, but i’m bilingual, so I know I can read them in english, and I want to. The hardcover editions are awesome, I may buy some someday, cuz even though i’m only at volume 15, berserk is my favorite manga, can’t wait to see what happens next. Love your channel man, especially your berserk statues, continue the good work!
For you newcomers, here’s a quick guide for what’s not included in the anime. For starters, all anime adaptations skip Guts’ origin story and the “Slug Count” arc. Additionally, “The Lost Children” arc is not covered at all. This takes place after “The Eclipse,” and is a huge character development arc for Guts. Both anime also take some liberties by altering the length and sequence of events leading to The Eclipse. In short, both anime skip the arcs before the “Golden Age” and after “The Eclipse.” I’d say read the manga first and then watch the anime.
Where can I read it?
I would suggest watching the 90's show first. The music really sets the tone. Later the music will play in your head when you read the manga.
Absolutely not!!! The anime cuts, sensors, and butchers so much of what the manga presents. Especially the art work which is second to none.
Yep! Decades later, that music still sticks with me! "Forces" is one of my favorite pieces.

2 episodes deep after this video. Guts and Griffith are cool so far. Not sure what to think of Casca yet. I'll be binge watching the shows and movies. Going to the lcs on Wednesday and hope they have volume 1 of the manga. This is the third series you got me into. Thanks Gem.
Berserk was the first mature anime I ever watched when I was like 14. Ive seen all the anime versions but I actually have not read the manga in it's entirety. I have wanted the deluxe copies for awhile and now I will accept no less lol
There are a lot of websites such as readberserk.com that are great and don’t cost money. That’s how I started and in my opinion the manga is much much better.
Get to buying them then lol. Fortunately since you've waited this long, you have the option of bulk buying to catch up if you want.
Berserk is my all time favorite work of fiction! I first discovered the series back when I was 14 years old back in 2005 and it's been my favorite series ever since! I remember I asked to get the first 3 volumes of the Manga for my birthday that year and I have kept up with collecting it from then on!

Love Berserk when I accidentally found it on Netflix. Then Gem started talking about and now I plan on getting the deluxe edition. Another great video.
I love how there is a story within a story in berserk. It's the kind of series you get more out of it every time you read it.
They should get the same studios that did the Golden Age arc to continue the series. It would blow up right now.

Yeah I just read the omnibus series starting from the beginning. I'm now 3 books in and about to start on the 4th. I did not expect this series to be so damn good!

Randomly stumbled upon this watching bersek lore videos and decided to get your take. I seen berserk stuff online for awhile and heard about it for years but finally took the plung. Started with 90’s anima for free on TH-cam. Afterwards watched the movies. Then watched the 2017’s anima. After it ended I needed more. I collected comics when I was younger but feel out of new issues late 2000’s . Never bought manga before. Seen the deluxe editions at a local bookstore . But wasn’t really willing to pay the $50 for volume one . Amazon had it for $20 new so grabbed it up . Now I just finished rereading the first 6 deluxe editions. Cash is tight but dying to get the other 7 and when I have the funds will slowly buy them. If u never read manga it does take some getting used to the format bc it’s so different from standard US comics but well worth it. Don’t be shy if u need to even looking up proper panel paths if u have issues.
Warning: berserk isn’t for the Squamish. It hides nothing and is brutal fitting for its medieval demon hunting setting should be. Not violent and graphic to b edgy just to b shocking as it all is done properly

I love how the anime stayed with the same voice for guts through them all. Never got into the manga no color. But i did make it to chapter 14 before I stoped reading. Mainly because i needed to know what happened because they took so many years before they did the movies.
The '97 series is how I got into it. I loved it so much I binged it in a day, then jumped right into the manga.
can u help me? there is the 1997 serires than there is the 3 movies and the manga should i start the anime first or the manga and if i start from the anime and finish it then from which chpater should i start
@@itst47azx69 Sure. The 1997 series and the movies tell the same story, between the 2, I think the '97 series is better, so I'd watch jt. The movies are just there if you want to watch them, they're not mandatory. After you finish the '97 series, I would just start at Berserk Volume 1. The show is a great adaptation, but the manga contains more details and important info that isn't featured in the show.

I just got my deluxe edition first volume yesterday, I’m loving it, I’m 240 pages in, it’s great.
For those of you wanting to do the anime go watch on TH-cam the 7 hour long fan made supercut. The uploader did a phenomenal job merging the best aspects of both the 90's anime and the full length movies.

Berserk is hands down my favorite manga ever! I would recommend everyone should read it, it’s absolutely amazing, and if you can read the deluxe editions! They are absolutely beautiful

I was first introduced to the Berserk manga in 2002, when I saw my brother reading fan translations - I like dark fantasy, so I was immediately interested. I like the manga best, and the original anime more than what followed. I've played the Dreamcast game, I imported and played the PS2 game, and I'll get around to playing the PS4 game eventually. I'd love to collect the Prime 1 statues, but that's more than my collector's budget can handle ^_^;
Picked up the first 3 of these big boys, they look amazing on the shelf. Half way through the first book and damn this guy does not play around.
Just bought the book 1 of the deluxe addition..delivery hopefully today can't wait to see the art in a larger size
I haven't started Berserk yet, but I do love my manga. One thing I like about manga is that there is typically only one writer per series. Very rarely, if ever, do you see a series get a different writer.
Plus, I've always loved B&W art and I tend to prefer B&W over color in comics, honestly. So I'm a pretty big proponent of Manga. There's WAY more out there than just the typical Pokemon meant for kids.

Deluxe way to go! Got vol. 1 for xmas then after reading it immediately bought 2 - 4. Nows the time to collect them if your new as currently only up to volume 6 released in deluxe. Can be daunting to collect ones it start hitting 10+ volumes.

I'm watching the newer anime right now and I like it. The art style is different from normal anime and the CGI is CGI, for me it's not a big deal and the second season is better, especially the sound effects. I think I'll get you the manga but I don't know if I should pull the trigger and get the deluxe version which is 40-50 dollars for each book so in total over 600 dollars or the german max version (2 manga in one book) for 10 dollars each manga so a total of 200 dollars.
