Here to show love to the D7100, image quality and colors are amazing. I had some issues with the SD memory card, she likes good quality and fast cards. You can try changing card brand, size and speed. D600, D800 and D750 are all good cameras, i still love the D7100 for all the advantages you already know. Buying a second D7100 could be a solution ... but try the memory cards ... sometimes thats the problem.
I still use my D7100 but when the going gets tough the D500 is my go to Camera of choice.Don't need mirrorless or full frame,good luck with your choice.
I have 7100 and D800, the D800 is just a little bigger and heavier, I don’t notice that much difference, but the D800 is definitely a better camera camera yet will use any of your lenses, even old manual.

Try the memory card I have a D 7100. I love it.
