- For the past 15 years NASCAR Race Hub has been a staple for just about every NASCAR fan in America and beyond. As of June 11, 2024 this is no longer the case as the show has been put to an end by FOX Sports in what was a shocking move to many. With that we look back today at what this show has done for the sport and what it has done for the viewers of said sport. This is the legacy of NASCAR Race Hub.

What will you remember most about NASCAR Race Hub?
The Herd 1 hour repeat aired tonight in the Hub's place 💀.
Radioactive was always my favorite RIP NASCAR Race Hub
The crying towel segments they were great
Radioactive
Jimmy Spencer
I’ll admit, I never watched a full single episode of race hub in years. Nothing will touch the Steve Byrnes, Jimmy Spencer and Danielle Trotta days. Nowadays, I get my NASCAR fixed from the NASCAR we weekly podcast, and dirty mo media
Race hub not the same without Steve Byrnes and Jimmy Spencer
Speed channel missed like no other race hub on fox just didn't measure up to it in my opinion. I'm in the north east and NASCAR fans are few and far in between just hard to find fans in every day life at work or elsewhere. Just say can't watch cars going in circles
My favorite moments were radioactive Jimmy Spencer and the Steve Byrnes tribute.
I still remember watching nascar now on espn
Loved the show - recognize change comes but hate to lose a friend .
Thank You NASCAR Race Hub!
I see it's time to bring back totally Nascar
Losing radioactive is really gonna suck one my favorite moments race hub
Man, speed was great. My favorite nascar show of all time was “inside Winston cup” such a funny show, and great recap of the races. Kenny Schrader and Mikey were top notch. They are still a good watch on TH-cam fyi
I've watched NASCAR races weekly for 25+ years and I can honestly say I never watched a single episode of RaceHub ever. I did watch its predecessor, Totally NASCAR, nightly for about two years but it became stale. Don't get me wrong, Steve Byrnes was great, even John Roberts, but I didn't need a daily thirty-minute dose of NASCAR news to keep me content.
Radioactive better stay
I completely agree with you ❤️
NASCAR Race Hub won't be around when GTA 6 & NASCAR 25 release
Does this mean no more radioactive?
Raise hell and praise race hub
I believe it fell off when Jimmy Spencer’s show Jimmy’s Take was cut. He was one of a few personalities that were critical of the racing product and his chemistry with Steve Byrnes was amazing. I miss those days, man.
Will miss this show a lot. Will never forget Steve Byrnes, Danielle Trotta, Jimmy Spencer, Bob Dillner, John Roberts and a plethora of others who made Race Hub what it was. A fantastic news show about NASCAR with storylines on the track, off the track, from de briefs on the weekend shows when on track action was going on, to weekday shows where news and headlines of the race weekend were on and looking ahead to next weekends race. The fact that this show ended is just sad. RIP Racehub.
And of course Krista Voda
The first nail in the coffin was when Byrnes died
So 😢Sad
I just hope Radioactive continues. That's all I want
NASCAR Productions is taking that over afaik.
It's the only segment that gains millions of views consistently, so NASCAR's doing it in house.
Just like RPM 2 Night gone but not forgotten.
Man, I remember in 1st grade back in 2015, when I would get home from school and I would watch Race Hub. And that kept going on until yesterday. I'm sad that Race Hub is gone as it made memories for my childhood lol.
😢me to
I stopped watching when Steve Byrnes died but it still sucks it ended
Too bad SPEED can’t come back as a streaming service. We need a central place for all thing motorsports again
I'd like that too. I see the future as being media companies taking little shares of the season so that, ultimately, fans will need multiple sreaming services in order to follow the sport. It will replace cable, where you have to pay for services you don't want with multiple streamers where you will be paying for things you don't want
There’s going to be a new streaming service that will have quite a lot. I hate streaming services and I’m not currently signed up to any, so I get that side of things, but somebody wrote out all of the series that would be available in theory on “venu” or whatever and it was pretty impressive
Worked on Race Hub for 4 seasons until recently leaving at beginning of February. Lots of fond memories from working on the show. Glad they gave everyone an opportunity to take a photo in Studio A before shuttering the doors one final time.
IndyCar is going to FOX 💀 😢. Don't think it's a coincidence it's reported the day after Race Hub's finale.
They really don’t compete. Racing fans cross pollinate anyways. One series gets $40 million and needed to be on big fox to grow its brand. The other series gets $1.1 billion and fox needs them on part of the cable package to keep that dying industry afloat. Both of the leagues are in massively different places and really don’t compete directly as far as what the network wants to accomplish.
However there will be 2-3 overlaps next year which will be awkward with the bigger series on cable.
Really missed the Jimmy Spencer crying towel section
I quit watching after they got rid of that bit, was really funny, especially Steve's reaction to his overacting.
Great choice for a background song.
It's fair to say that people like you, Eric, Darian, Danny and many more are the New Race Hub moving forward!
OOTG is basically a race hub equivalent let’s be honest. He does a better job than most shows too. Wastes much less of my time
Will miss race Hub 😢
I think this is a sign that NASCAR is planning on taking as much content they can in house.
They'll be producing the Xfinity races next season. They'll most likely produce the Cup races for Amazon/TNT. They built a multi-million dollar television facliity in the Charlotte area.
What's that showing to me is that, either via youtube, or their own services, NASCAR is planning on doing a lot of the heavy lifting in regards to the TV product going forward.
This is just sad. Yes it was no longer the show from the glory days of SPEED but was getting better. This show was actually FOX's best coverage of the sport sadly and unfortunately. It was no longer a necessity but a sports cable show that was nice to have.
“Every show can’t last forever”
The Simpsons:
Sesame Street:
Family Guy:
South Park:
SpongeBob:
I think the last remnant from the speed channel is two guys garage airing on motor trend I believe.
I preferred ESPN's RPM 2Night. They didn't treat the viewers like we were a bunch of idiots. I got tired of the silliness and the buffoonery on Race Hub. I finally quit watching it. I wish Fox Sports would do a weekly show just giving a recap of the week's racing news like they used to do with Speed News; do NASCAR, IndyCar, F1, NHRA, IMSA, Trans-Am, etc.
If I had a nickel for every time something in the nascar Industry started in 2009 and ended in 2024 I would have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s wired it happened twice.
Jimmy Spencer and Steve Burns were the best combo
I remember when Inside NASCAR on Showtime was uncensored with language in it
For those fearful of Radioactve going away, IIRC, it started with Inside NASCAR, and moved to RaceHub when Showtime cancelled Inside NASCAR.
I Was Lifelong ESPN Speedweek Hosted By Bob Jenkins From The 80s And Early 90s
For me it’s jimmy Spencer sega, like his show from 2010 to 2013 was so amazing he was like the Steven A Smith of NASCAR and it was such an amazing thing that made you interested weak and weak because of his personality and the things he did.
There's a NASCAR themed show on MAVTV called "NASCAR Pace Lap". Kinda like the Speed Channel version of NASCAR Race Hub. Only issue is, the broadcast time isn't consistent so it's hard to know when it's on. It's sorta like MRN's former tv show called "Raceline" when it was on at random times
MAVTV also has the weekly show called SpeedFreaks on Mondays at 6 pm. They cover NASCAR alongside other forms of racing.
Now if any of y'all haven't heard about MAVTV, then I'm shocked. It's almost like a modern SPEED Channel
The shows I miss most were Wind Tunnel w/ Dave Despain and Inside Nextel Cup w/ Alan Bestwick , Kenny Schraeder,, Michael Waltrip, the Biff , etc.
When Danielle Trotta was hosting I watched every single day. It lost something after she left.
Jimmy Spencer and his radio sweetheart. He always did it along with radioactive.
And the crying towel
It was fun while it lasted...Good by.
Can't believe Race Hub was the last of the SPEED shows to live on under the (in my opinion bland) FS1 branding. What a show, man...gonna miss it.
Speed channel WAS a dream for racing fans. Steve Byrnes was the best for NASCR. Loved race hub. Dave Despain brought NASCAR fans knowledge of other racing series. Robin Miller brought us F1 and Indy news. Times change, though. Now i have Eric Estepp, and The Iceberg for NASCAR and David Land for Indy Nikolia P. Culp for F1. Thank goodness for TH-cam.
As someone who watched SPEED every day as a kid (mainly because it was the only place to get any F1 coverage) it is sad to see the last remaining show from that network go away. However podcasts & TH-cam channels like Iceberg's will fill the void for now & I think Turner will have a daily (or at least a weekly) NASCAR show mainly because they need to fill airtime for TruTV which is starting to become more of a sports channel from its previous version as the channel that had shows like World's Dumbest & Impractical Jokers.
i will miss watching racehub on TV😔
I agree Justine 😊😢
It was great sad that it ended but at least the finalie was a good way to go out.
Content killed the TV star. Thanks for the years of in depth coverage. Nascar should follow the F1TV pro model. It is phenomenal.
I have to agree.
But for Nascar to do this, I think they need to do what F1 did: centralize production.
With Nascar races, the channels are responsible for production and generation. It's their cameras and staff they hire on the track.
F1 has a production company and all the TV partners get their picture.
As long as the channels are producing and generating, I don't think Nascar will have enough for an F1TV style of service. The channels will pressure the association too much against it.
It won't be anytime soon for Nascar I think.
@@otaviofrn_adv Actually, NASCAR appears to be in the process of taking at least some production in house.
They've built a new facility in the Charlotte Area, and it's that facility that's going to produce the Xfinity races for The CW, and most likely the Cup races for Amazon/Turner. It wouldn't shock me if NASCAR would co-produce next years with Fox/NBC, especally with the fact outside of Daytona, neither Fox nor NBC will be doing Practice/Qualifying.
People in other communities are speculating this is why Fox cancelled Race Hub, as NASCAR wants to take as much of their content in house they can.
@@otaviofrn_adv It's going to be sooner than you think.
Maybe not the F1TV style of service, but NASCAR is laying the ground work to take over some of the production from the networks.
@@ElFuego35 How soon are we talking? During the contract that starts next season?
@@otaviofrn_adv Yes.
NASCAR themselves will be producing the Xfinity races on The CW, and it's highly likely (but not confirmed) they'll be producing the Amazon/TNT Cup races.
I think a lot of tv programs will continue to disappear because nobody watches cable anymore. MAVtv is the new Speed channel. NASCAR should work more with them.
Ironically IMO the thing that killed Race Hub was NASCAR TH-cam. I started to take NASCAR seriously in late 2018, when I started watching I’d watch race hub almost everyday after school because I thought that was the best way to get news, breakdowns, and commentary but as soon as I found channels like Eric Estepp and The Iceberg that habit quickly went away. I wonder if this is a universal experience for newish fans. Regardless I will miss this a lot. It’s a huge loss for the sport, and I hope they allocate the money to something that’ll help the sport (unlikely unfortunately)
We should get another daily nascar show next year, and hopefully a real trackside live. Even if its on nascars youtube, id be shocked if not. Sad end to a good show.
Please do a retrospective on daily/weekly nascar shows. The one with Ned Jarrett (Inside Nascar), Neil Bonnett's show , RPM Tonight, etc. Love your videos!
I’ll remember Steve Byrnes and Radioactive
Who didn't love Steve?
I grew up on ESPN when NASCAR was on there they had speed week every week highlights of the races in NASCAR I just took off what a bummer
i miss SPEED channel race HUB was there during covid AND WAS THE higest rated show
Watching this as the new is getting around the turex is retiring after 2024 it is like 2X the pain
At least my show "Dirty Air" will still be around! 😂
NWP should replace Race Hub on FS1
NASCAR race hub was never the same without Steve Burns.
Don't go to the NASCAR subreddit it's toxic!
Wait, is Nascar on fox done forever?
I remember going to my first ever NASCAR race when I was 19 in the 2006 Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Got to see Tony Stewart win and climb the fence right in front of me, I'll never forget it.
But before the race even began in the early hours of the morning, I got to check out all of the merch stands, etc even got a pit pass into the garage area and pit road. One of my fondest memories was getting to see the morning SPEED show (forgot the name unfortunately) with Kenny Wallace, Jimmy Spencer and I THINK it was Jeff Hammond. I always wanted to see that show live and I am grateful I got the chance to see it. Awesome experience.
It was trackside live presented by the Home Depot.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld That's it!! Thanks!
trotta & burns were my favs
Frank was a nice touch
"My Way" was a nice touch
3:14 i did it my way 🥲
I’m gonna miss the radioactive segments each week
RIP Racehub you are now smoking 3CHI with Kevin Ward Jr, Dale and SHR 🕊️🪦
Radioactive
NASCAR Race Hub’s not Dead, It’s just a Lap Ahead! 😁👍🫡
Wise words
