Loved that song since '83. Playing the Bass from '77 I like melodic and just good Bass lines. Heep, Rainbow, Rush are my forces that kept me employed in bands.Keep doing what you do.
Thanks! I just recently played together an awesome Uriah Heep cover band, lots of awesome songs there too. Must have been amazing growing up with these bands and seeing them live.
One of my favorite Rainbow songs. You have good taste my friend. I learned something new from your lesson, the notation to upstrum on some chords. The solo looks like a chore.
I don't know what happened to JLT, one of the best vocalists. I'm not liking his solo material. In Rainbow, I think he brought songwriting and R&B to the table (e.g. Jealous Lover)). He was also great in his short stints with Malmsteen and Deep Purple. For me it all started with I Surrender, then Stone Cold, Jealous Lover, Street of Dreams and Can't Let You Go. One song getting better after the other. Each one of the members of Rainbow was essential. @@DogwithtwoBones

Hey DogwithtwoBones have you seen the new AIWA Boost Pedal on reverb made by Lake Geneva Shoreline? I got it and it sounds great on a VOX AC30C2 and Marshall SV20H. I think it'd be worth checking out!
Hi, yes that’s Max’s pedal and reverb shop, that’s that I am using in this video too with the sv20. I dont have a vox now, good to hear it sounds good with it too.
Can you tell me which slider Blackmore uses in Solo Temple Of The King, iron, plastic or ceramic. From what such gentle and without superfluous rattles a sound?
Have you tested Amplitube Max? It has the Engl 650 (official). Bought it today, because of a huge reduction. From €699 to someting around €99 (Sweetwater) - €115 (Thomann). Wonder what you can do with it and if you can get Blackmores tone. Perhaps a TH-cam vid comparing the real amp and Amplitube with real Blackmore style playing and a nice preset.
They had a sale like that for Black Friday but I skipped on it because I wouldn't use it that much BUT I did buy and engl savage profile from plugin alliance for 30 bucks. Sound alright. Will eventually do a video about it, but I don't see the point in comparing the software with the tube amp, the latter always wins. For me at least. But these apps are keep sounding better and better, I am sure I wouldn't be able to hear the difference in a proper mix.
j 'ai l'impression que ta guitare est accordée un demi ton plus bas, c'est à dire en mib par rapport à la tablature, non ? (I have the impression that your guitar is tuned half a tone lower, i.e. in Eb compared to the tablature, right?)...

I like the JLT era more and more as I am “growing up”. Yes I think Blackmore did a lot of upstrokes on both single notes and chords.

My fav JLT era album. Love Fool for the Night and Drinking With the Devil!
I tabbed and covered the solo os fool
For the night too, love that song!
Thank you so much, brought memories from 20 years ago. 🙏🏽
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
I haven't heard that song in so long, but the solo has a bit of that sweet sound. Thanks, I'm glad you chose it!
Glad you like it! Thanks.

I want to do Street of Dreams but not sure how and when yet.
Amazing take on the solo!
Thanks so much!
Great work!
Thanks Andy!
Nicely played. I learnt to play I Surrender, Stone Cold and Street of Dreams recently - you've inspired me to try this one next. Thanks 🎸
Great songs, i’ve been meaning to learn stone cold properly for some time now. Have fun with this solo too and rock on.
Respect,Bro...
Thank you!
DWB, you are THE BEST! Thank you for what you do. It is MUCH appreciated. Cheers from the US
Glad you like it, thanks you!
Oh, that was so, so very well done❗ Love that song. Joe Lynn Turner sounded so great when he had hair. Lol
Thanks a lot! I think JLT is one of the best rock singers in retaining his voice, up there with Glenn Hughes.
Well done, keep listening and, if possible, disassemble other songs from this album!
I have a couple of solos covered from this album.

Classic Rainbow song indeed!

I think someone else requested it not that long ago as well. Sorry it took this long :)

Any shot you could do a cover of (dream chaser “bring on the night”) of of straight between the eyes. Thanks

I think he always used steel but honestly who know what else he used in the studio. I'd guess steel just set up a different tone on his amp.

In the clip Ritchie did not use a strat but what looks like a tele with a tremolo. I wonder what the story behind that is :)
I’d guess fender or someone gave him the tele :D
@@DogwithtwoBones That is my thought exactly. It was playback, Ritchie does not hesitate to show it is fake ;)

This is the only song I know about where he tuned down to Eb. I even asked Cooky (his old guitar tech from the 80s) and he didn't remember either.
