I love your shirt Aaron
Awe, thanks! See.... cat dads are cool!
I've knit my husband 5 sweaters over the years, even though the first two did not fit him that well, he still wore them. He loves the more recent ones... The Dude Sweater, Wrongside Sweater, and Bibliophile 3.
I love that he wore them. They are one of a kind, so why not?
I'll definitely be looking those sweater patterns up. -A
My husband doesn’t wear sweaters, but when we were first married I knit him a fancy cabled sweater. He still wears it-once a year, to the St. Patrick’s day parade. 😊
We live hearing this! 🍀🍀🍀☘️
I must learn the star stitch because I too enjoy a pucker that looks like a star 🌟
Its so true 😂
Nice to see you guys pop up this evening!
I knit my husband the Jon sweater in Lettlopi and he lives in it! I have knit my son three sweaters (pre teen) and he loves them and is very knit-worthy, one of those was Flax as well! My boys are very knit worthy. I really owe my husband another sweater.
I bet your whole family looks stunning in their sweaters. I should smile and be happy Chip would trust me to make him one.
I'll make him wear it everyday. 😂
I’ve knit my husband 5 sweaters. He wears them and loves them. He is very knit worthy.
If you can make 5 sweaters for him, I guess I can make Chip one. 😂
Definitely!!!!!
So much fun! Thanks so much!
Well, we thank you right back. 😃
Love your episodes...so much fun to watch. I hope Jeff visits again. I don't knit for my husband for a couple of reasons. He wears shorts in the winter. If you see him in socks, there's a blizzard, so he rarely wears sweaters or vests. And he's 6'4" with a 36" sleeve and has size 13 feet. I did knit him a toboggan (that's a beanie/ski cap) once.
The tall boys (I'm a little over 6’2) run a little hotter body temperature-wise. I hope he wears the toboggan from time to time. -Aaron
Okay - loved the episode for all the Flock update but, I gotta say, Jeff was the ⭐️! Loved meeting him and he needs to have his own podcast or zoom in with you guys. He was so natural and interesting and kind and an interesting knitter. More Jeff! More Jeff!
We couldn't agree more, Kim! Jeff is the best :) We asked him why he doesn't podcast... sadly, he said it's just not where he wants to place his energy. We gotta grab him when we get him and celebrate!
Thank you for the kind words! ❤😊
I love your shirt, Aaron! Great podcast.
One more fan of the shirt. Wait until I find the same print in bed sheets. Chip will love it. 😹😹
Wow! Great energy and recap of Flock! Jeff’s unexpected visit! Aaron’s fabulous shawl with the star stitch and Chip’s vision for Brendan’s remake is inspiring! So much in one podcast. You guys are amazing. 😊
Thank you, Mrs Kravtz. Someday you need to knock on our window.
Brilliant to have you back, and Jeff too. Loved all the content. Apologies Chip, but Aaron I’m deffo on your team - I ADORE your shirt, brought a smile to my face. And as for wigs, that is a fab idea. Next year Aaron, next year, and you can radiate fun :-)
Yes, yes, yes. Finally, someone is team Aaron. 😂😹😹
Hi, guys!! So good to see you!! Also great that you had a wonderful show!
I have knit my husband sock library. A couple of fancy Merinos that wore horribly, a disastrous experience with Knitpicks MCN and 9 pairs in Paton’s Kroy that we both love! I really enjoy trying different patterns, lengths and heels. Ultimately, a top down, heel flap and gusset and barn toe fits him the best.
He is not a sweater/ beanie dude so that knitting is reserved for my daughter. That being said, almost all of my knitting is requested gift knitting. I love doing it.
Isn't Paton’s Kroy an excellent yarn? It stands up well and has so many color options.
I love knitting for family. I should check in with them soon for a holiday makes this year. -A
Oh my gosh! So excited to see my friend Jeff on the podcast! Love you guys and I’m enjoying watching you both. Flock is now on my list!!
We were so excited to have Jeff on the episode.
We hope to see you at Flock next year.
BOYZ! so good to see you. I for one, love the cat shirt. I had a gorgeous black Diva cat with six toes who lived to be the ripe old age of 20. Delighted your first vendor moment was a success. Couldn't happen to a more deserving pair. Craft in good health!
Here's to many more vendor successes! xx, @Christopher
PS I am obsessed with the Mr. Bill stitch marker.
I think the Mr. Bill stitch marker is just as good as the cat shirt. 😹😹😺
Awww, missed you guys.
We love to be missed. We are happy you are with us. 🥰
You guys are so brilliant! Just makes me smile, and Jeff is adorable! Happy Labor Day weekend guys👏😃🇺🇸
Happy Labor Day to you, too. And yes, we know Jeff is adorable. 🤣
Aww, thanks! ❤😊
Hi guys. Love time. . .Aaron, at first glance, I thought your octopus was Gumby! Great seeing all of you. Glad Flock was a success. Ciao.
We love hearing from you, Karen. It could totally be an octopus gumby. 🐙
Great podcast! Enjoyed Jeff’s visit with you. I met you at Flock in August and you didn’t disappoint. Both of you were charming, fun, and kind. I was the lady who said she was adopting you and you called me Mom from then on. Michael and Carrie were added treats in your booth. Love them both and watch their podcasts also. And to top it all off, I got to meet Kevin and Ray. Be still my heart.
Hey Marlette! So lovely to hear from you again! :) I'm glad you had a great time at Flock and met all the stars: Kevin & Ray and Michael & Carie. We're genuinely lucky to call them friends. Hope you're enjoying this last bit of summer! And we promise not to ghost everyone. We'll have a new episode in a few weeks! Hugs -C
Fabulous fun and it just ramped up a level at 20:41 with Jeff entracne at the window....at first I was thinking someone had broken down in the car and needing help and then in he walked and squeezed in and Its was electric! Such fun. Your stall at Flock looked amazing. WELL DONE!
Thank you, Stuart. You are welcome to come up to our window and be a guest anytime. We can wish, right?
Gregorian chant. Great name!
Ok ok ok! first time watching you guys! LOVE! I have so much to say and can’t remember what… 1st Cle Elum rocks! We packed horses up fish Lake Road every year as a family. My parents would tie us up at the ol’ Number three tavern before heading in and always on the way out. When I turned 21 it was the first place I wanted to go for a beer. 2nd, my moms outfit camping up on fish Lake Road consisted of a prairie skirt, Notre Dame Jersey and Camo fishing hat, and what have I been on the hunt for…? Camo yarn! I’m making her a shawl for her 85th Birthday which is in January. So I hope, hope, hope you figure out your secret dyeing colors and make more.
3rd, I love the big floral bag and wonder why more cant be made? Or something similar?? I too have the sailrite sewing machine. Make sails, bags and cushion covers for our sailboat. Finally, For your retreats or after flock expedition can I recommend The San Juan Islands! Fly out of Lake union and Visit Friday Harbor and Roche. Besides Cle Elum it’s the most beautiful place in Washington! Loved this show, love you guys and hope to meet some day! Happy Making!
Thank you for finding us!! You are officially a hustler. A hustler is what we call our community.
Cle Elem and Roslyn are my favorites. If not there, then Anacortes area 2nd. We just may have to hit the islands next year.
I'll look into the camo yarn, but it was a one-of-a-kind. Like the floral Chip basket. They don't make that fabric anymore.
-Aaron
Fun episode. Aaron- for sure some camo. That would be awesome. Chip try calling Missouri star Quilt comp it’s a sewing destination and they have some buildings with classrooms set up for retreats. Sheesh you guys are so talented.
Thank you for all the kind words. Once a year, we say we should make it out to Missouri Star Quilts to see all the awesomeness. Someday.
I would have gone to Flock just to see your booth, and Aaron, I think your shirt is AMAZING and it would not have surprised me a bit to walk up to your booth and see you wearing that! However, I do have to side with Chip on the wigs….. that might have been too much 😂 So glad you guys had a great experience!
Well maybe next year I'll wear the cat shirt and the wig. 😂😂 Chip would love that.
What a fun episode! So nice to meet Jeff and I am sure you had a great time at the retreat. I am making a vest for my wife right now (Gallanta by Carol Feller). Quite a learning experience for me as I am not a very experienced garment maker. I hope to make it to my first FH bingo 😀 Chip, I am looking forward to seeing your triangles quilt - I am a quilt maker as well. Susannah
A vest sounds very exciting, Susannah. Is it a surprise for your wife, or do they know it is coming? Maybe I can start with making Chip a vest first. 😄
@@FiberHustle It wasn't a surprise as I needed to measure and have her pick a pattern It has been quite a learning experience and I am very glad I don't have sleeves to knit :)
My spouse is totally knitworthy but on the larger size (xxl). So knitting any garment is a bit daunting. But I chose to make him the Tamarack Cardigan by Jared Flood. Oh! And I forgot to mention this was my first cardigan and the pattern is allover moss stitch. Truly a labour of love - that is too warm and sits on his shelf 😅. Love him to pieces and now working on a fingering pullover.
I get it 2XL or 3XL. It really can be a lot sometimes. Very nice of you to make those for him.
So nice to see you at Flock! I am off the hook, my hubby has declared he does not want a knitted sweater from me (he rarely wears them). So it is all hats for me! I am super excited about my skein of Journey, just looking for the right pattern to knit it up😂.
At least he is honest about the sweater. Why waste time if they will not wear it?
I'm super happy with the journey color, so I hope you find the perfect project.
Great seeing you guys
I used to knit my husband's socks, he no longer works in foundries so doesn't want them. BUT he asked for a sweater. He found a pattern at my favorite yarn shop, in a Vogue Magazine. I'd never knit a cable in my life! Decided I'd go for it. MY GOD THE YARN COLORS HE CHOSE‼️ Lemon yellow and pumpkin orange. 5 different cables but the center cables middle of front and center of sleeves, well, the sweater divides half and half, colors twined together. He wore it out! Funny thing happened, he wore it to a friend's house, huge HUGE dog, ran up to him and bit him. IMHO, the dog was offended by that wild colored sweater. LOL I'd make it again in better color choices, I said no to another in the same colors. He was neon man walking down the street. He wore it Lots.❤
What? Do I laugh or cry at the dog story? 🤣🤣 well I hope it was not a bad bite.
His color choices sound all his own. But good for you doing all that knitted.
@@FiberHustle only his pride was injured. He thought that Great Dane was a buddy! I've always believed the colors offended the dog😂😂😂
Its so good to see you and meet your friend Jeff. I love so much that your podcaster friends all pitched in at Flock.
Aaron and Chip - I have made things for my husband, the latest was a colourwork cowl in yarn from Norway. He modeled it but our winter did not really get cold enough for the cowl much and my oldest son who is very knit worthy wore the cowl. And I have even worn the cowl too. That said, my hubby overheats easily so I do not foresee him getting a sweater anytime soon unless we leave Canada for Norway or Finland or something. Hubby will get socks or tuques (aka beanies/hat) going forward.
I 100% understand. I'm always hot, and Chip is always cold. That is why I love a shawl. I can remove it in 5 seconds.
Hmm, maybe Chip is the perfect person for a sweater. 😃
@@FiberHustle Interesting. It seems people who run hot are drawn to those who run cool. 😎
I think Chip is definitely knit worthy. You could knit him sweaters whenever your knitting mojo drives you towards knitting a sweater… And knit yourself tops that are in lighter yarns.
Great episode! Something about the cat shirt gives Warhol vibes and I like it. But I accept not everything is for everyone and we don’t all have to like the same things. How boring life would be if we did! ❤❤❤
So true, Star. Incan totally see the Warhol vibe
I’ll have you know I’m wearing a candy land crew neck. V CLASSY 😂😂 great podcast as always. I’m so ready for fall!
So classy! Yes, bring on fall.
1) I love the cat shirt! You should have worn it at Flock. 😊
2) The glass heads looked great. Wigs would have ruined the vibe.
3)The booth looked fantastic! I do have FOMO.
I am glad your first event did so well. Congratulations!!🎉
4) Chip seems to have forgotten the lovely dishcloth Aaron knitted for him. 🤣
5) Jeff - it was great to see all your projects!
6) B-B-B-Bingo!
1. I'm of course 100% with you
2. I see you are team Chip on this one. I do get it though.
3. 🥰🥰🥰
4. You are right. I will remind him.
5. Jeff is great.
6. You must be there.
I'm a new viewer, I chatted briefly with you at Flock and wanted to check your podcast out. You all are awesome, I love it! I've knit my partner a very warm, cabled vest that he wears when he wants to dress up in the winter, so maybe once a quarter? We also live in the PNW, so not much call for warmth or dressing up.
Welcome to our little corner of TH-cam. 😄 we had so much fun at Flock. We can't wait to do it next year.
I'd love a cabled cardigan, but it would not get much wear as I run hot. I'll still make one someday. 🤣 -A
Yay. We’ve been waiting for a podcast. Have you watched Get Flocked podcast? A good one.
I just looked it up. I'll totally give it a watch. Thank you for the suggestion.
#teamaaron but also #notoneofthegays. OMG you guys are my favorite ever. I'm coming to Flock next year to squeeze you. Be ready.
We are so ready to be squeezed!
Hi! I’m not a frequent watcher, but I’m glad to see you. I seem to remember you live in or near Seattle, and I sure wish I could have come to your event. I’m living in Oregon, Columbia River Gorge-ous, east of Portland. I was a quilter until injury put me on the sideline. Now I’m a knitter and I’m enjoying it. Chip, I’m coveting your unique Chip Bags! Crack on, boys! ❤❤
Yup, we are just right outside Seattle. I love that area or Oregon and anything to do with the gorge. You are so lucky to live there. -A
@@FiberHustle Aaron, you are so right! I can see the Columbia River down hill from my house(and WA) Before our trees got planted and grew up, we could see Mt. Hood from our back yard! I’m originally from New York State, but I met my husband in California. He’s from Portland. He brought me up here and I never looked back. Fifty+ years and 3 kids later we’re still together, retired and free to take road trips to see our grand kids and great grandchildren. I take my knitting everywhere we go! I am indeed lucky and blessed…🥰. Say Hi to Chip and thanks for giving Jeff my Ravelry suggestion!
Yippee
Just finished shaking and pouring my happy hour martini
Hookin’me UP. Yeah
Go Hustlers
We hope the episode was as good as that yummy drink.
That red polymer looks like The Scream!
I just noticed that. Good catch.
Oh please wear the cat shirt to Flock next year! I love it. Pinky swear to wear my cat sweater if you wear the cat shirt. 😀🐱
I mean this sounds like a good deal to me. Chip might not agree. 😹😹
Yay!!!
Woohoo hooo 🎉
I love BBBBBINGO!!!! YEAH!!!! I need to bring out the blow torch….
I remember that costume. Blow torch and clay this year.
The TH-cam algorithm just introduced us, so hi!
Hello! I'm so glad TH-cam pointed you in our direction. Welcome to our little dog and pony show. 😃
First of all Aaron your shirt is awesome! 2nd I knit a Knitter Dude sweater for my EX just because I wanted to knit the pattern. He wears it when it gets cool and loves it. My feels for him however meh! 😂😂😂
It's very generous of you to do that for an ex and not be tempted to put itching powder in it. 😄
Walrus ❤
I'm still proud of it.
@@FiberHustle as you should be!
Hi Guys! I want to play with clay!!! I have made my husband tons of hats (he works outside and is bald). And maybe half a dozen sweaters. He is sooo knitworthy..He brags about the hand knits and he works with some major macho NYC guys….YEAH!!!!! Love the cat shirt and I vote yes on wigs!!!!
Wigs for the win!
Your husband sounds like a charmer. A fashionable charmer.
You must post what you make of you get into the clay game. It was very addictive.
I’m sad the ooak in the Helen Stewart shawl was a ooak. It’s was stunting. Beautiful shawl. I think I have just the yarn for it.
It was really an easy knit that kept my attention. I'd love to be able to create that yarn again. Silly one of a kinds
Are you accepting friend applications? You guys are a hoot!
You are automatically a friend if you are a hustler and part of our community. 😁
Where does Jeff buy yarn, I am just east of BR. I have not found any LYS.
I like Bayou Yarn Shop in Lafayette and Quarter Stitch in Nola. Unfortunately both are more than an hour’s drive from me so most of my yarn is purchased online.
I love the cat shirt.
Thank you for loving it like i do. 😹😸 Chip just doesn't get it.
And Chip….tons of baby, newborn stuff! Hahaahah
20 days til spring here in nz...omg winter wasn't even cold this year...wht is going on with weather?
We had more consecutive hotter days here in the summertime. Yes, the weather is changing. We are so ready for fall.
JEFF! A great sweater pattern on Ravelry… “Knitting Pure and Simple, Neck Down Jacket” It’s simple, no sewing and male/female friendly. I’m working on the first sleeve, four more inches to go. Next, will be the other sleeve. This is the 5th one I’ve made and 3 of them I’ve kept for myself. I put zippers in all of them. Give it a look-see!
I am sending this message to Jeff now. Thank you so much for the suggestion.
That’s a great pattern- thanks for sharing!
@@thatguyknits you are welcome. I’m glad you got it. I did the collar on my first one, and I’m not happy about it. So subsequent sweaters have a single crochet finish up the front, around the neck and down the front, three rows. I hope you try it out. (( hugs)) Mary P.
Been married 43 yrs and have never knit hubby a sweater, hats ,socks, cowls yes but now he wants a sweater so it may happen. Life is a mystery lol
😁😁😂😂😂 i totally get it, Terry.
I have Knit 5 cardigans for my Husband he loves them and I am on my 3rd Cardigan. I don't wear sweaters.
I love a cardigan. I need to take another steaking class to knit in the round then snip snip.
I have yet to make a sweater for me much less for anyone else
The idea of making one is great. Finishing that idea is the hard part. 😂🤣
They can be a fun knit. But with my size, it takes longer. -A
Raining in Ohio.
Rain in Ohio usually leads to bad humidity. Ewwww. ⚡
The first sweater I made my honey was the colors of the Detroit Red Wings 🪽 with a large appliqué of their logo. We enjoyed going to hockey games together! I want to show up at your window....would you let me in?
If you bring cookies, you may have a chance.
You are so easy! What kind?!!!
