One cool extra feature that i discovered when i had trouble recording my synth using external instrument inputs on TR-8 but i wanted to record the synth solo and not mixed with TR's drums.. First you need to record TR-8 digitally so you get each instrument per channel. In order to do that, you need to connect to computer via USB and set the inputs from TR's 3-13 digital outputs (1 and 2 are main stereo outputs from TR). If you have,let's say, polyphonic synth connected to TR external instrument inputs, that synth would go into the main digital main stereo mix (1 and 2) with other drums. In order to get rid of the drums, you go to boot mode (you can check on youtube how to enable boot mode on TR) and then assign each instrument to assignable outs A/B so there is no instrument going in to the main stereo out. The thing is with TR is that digital main output behaves in same way as analog main stereo output. So if all instruments are being sent on assignable analog outs A and B, there will not be any instrument present on analog and as well digital stereo output except for the external instrument that leaves you will external synth as stereo instrument on 1/2 insputs and rest of TR drum instruments are from 3 to 13.
Mate! I’ve been playing with my second hand tr8 I bought a few months ago. It’s a lot of fun for sure. I’ve watched so many Tr8 videos, but I just learnt more functions in this little 6 min or so video than I have in majority of others! Can u explain again, how you had different snare sounds on the same snare ‘channel’ Please type-speak real slow and easy to understand as I only speak fluent idiot! Cheers
**HOT TIP** to randomize a pattern on tr8, hold Ptn Select and press Scatter on. tr8 has to be stopped or it wont work. fast way to get some interesting patterns. 😉
Good demo the release of the TR08 has peaked my interest but this looks like a better value ESP used....I can't tell if the ACB technology on the TR08 is any better ....
Why you bought in first place ? I never buy stuff i do not know at least 90% of functionality, and you can do that with downloading simple PDF manual. On top of that, in my case before i bought TR, i watched at least 10,20 videos of people using it :) It is funny to me because i know at least 3,4 people who did the same thing (2 with TR).
It's a particularly convoluted manual. It may interest you to learn that different people learn in different ways! Have you heard of the seven styles of learning? Auditotory, visual/spatial, verbal, logical/mathematical, physical/kinesthetic, social/interpersonal and solitary/intrapersonal.
+1 on the flam option. This the first video I've seen that properly explains implementing the flam / roll. Many thanks for that!

Totally agree. The official manual and most TH-cam videos are too high-level. I hope you have more. This is really helpful!

What version do you have I have 1.50 but dont have all those extra sounds and my colours aren't like that
Nice vid! Is it possible to extend a pattern with 32 steps or 64 steps? Instead of the 16 steps
